Peter Pan - EXO-K https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBjxedOaB_w   *Please listen to the above song, as it'll definitely set the mood! :) ---------------------- Narrator’s P.O.V:     Miyoung awoke the following morning with half-lidded eyes and a sleepy smile stretched out upon her lips. Instead of leaning on her husband’s shoulder or cradling her son in her arms, she found herself alone, on top of L. Joe’s bed.   She stared at her ceiling for a good three seconds, not quite feeling sober, when she realized that the touching scene she’d vividly pictured just moments ago had been all but a figment of her imagination.   Out of curiosity, Miyoung stared at her left hand. To her disappointment, there was no ring. *Which means I don’t have a son, nor a cure for Seohyun’s sight.* She felt oddly dejected by these thoughts.   In a daze, Miyoung felt around for the pillow beside her, half-expecting to feel a very fluffy head of blond hair, only to feel… nothing.   *Huh?* Miyoung furrowed her eyebrows, scanning the empty room. *Did he go out somewhere?*    With great difficulty, she heaved herself up and padded around the room with bare feet, in search of her boyfriend. When she opened the door, she almost tripped and tumbled back.   “Mmpf,” she ran smack into his chest.   “Whoa, whoa, whoa,” L. Joe caught her waist, eyes wide with surprise. Miyoung blinked before smiling, “Found you.”   “You did,” he admitted, steadying her back on her feet.   “What are you doing so early in the morning?” She rocked on her heels, mussing her bedhead hair.   L. Joe teasingly grinned and poked her stomach, “Don’t you mean the afternoon?”   “What?” She froze in alarm before backtracking and glancing at the clock in L. Joe’s room. “It’s not even 12 yet. It’s only 9 a.m.!”   “You mean already nine a.m. I was up at six. You’re lucky it’s a Saturday.”   Miyoung socked his arm, and L. Joe swayed back from the hit, “You’re getting better,” he nodded, “But it still didn’t hurt.”   Miyoung gave him a flat look and spun around, “Forget this. I’m going back to sleep.”   “Okay, okay, sorry,” he caught her in his arms, “Come see this, instead!”   This time, Miyoung tilted her head and glanced over her shoulder, “What?”   Wearing a devious grin, he pointed enthusiastically at the doorframe. Miyoung focused hard to see a tiny line etched on it with pencil.   “What is that?” A confused Miyoung stared at Byunghun, who had managed to trade in his button-down dress shirt from last night for a white wifebeater and grey sweatpants.   Byunghun grinned ‘stupidly’, as Miyoung described it, and excitedly proclaimed, “It’s my height!” He looked very proud of himself, “I measured my height before you came home last night, and I checked again, just now.”   He pointed a few centimetres below the line he drew, “I was around here before,” he pointed at a light line on the frame, “Now, I’m here,” he pointed at the darker pencil marking, “Yooyeon said I would start to age again after I fell in love, right? I think I grew!”   Miyoung watched as he beamed like a five year old child and leaned against the wall with a soft expression on her face, “Idiot. You can’t grow that quickly in one night. You probably miscalculated.”   Miyoung glanced down at his feet and burst out laughing.   “What?”   “You have slippers on,” she nudged them with her toe, snickering. “Obviously, they’re going to add a few centimetres to your height. Take them off.”   Cautiously, L. Joe stepped out of the shoes.   Miyoung pushed him so that he was right against the wall. L. Joe saw her focused expression and began to blush, “…If this was what you wanted, all you had to do was—“   Miyoung gave him a flat look, and he raised his hands in defeat, “Okay! Shutting up.”   She stepped back to scrutinize him for a bit before grinning victoriously, “See? You’re the same height.”   “REALLY?!” L. Joe instantly twirled around, looking extremely disappointed when he saw that it was true. “Oh no…” His face fell.   Miyoung’s chuckles died down while gazing at L. Joe’s upset expression. *Maybe I went too far…*   Byunghun felt her touch as she laced her fingers through his, surprising him. “Hey, don’t worry about it,” she gave him a genuine smile, “I won’t grow old without you.”   “Unfortunately, I don’t think you have the magical power of stopping your physical age, but thank you anyways, honey.” L. Joe smooched her cheek, leaving tingles there.   Miyoung laughed, “Honey?”   “…I admit I wanted to test it out,” he grew bashful and hid his face, “No? How about baby? Or sweetie? Or no, wait, how about cookie?”   “Forget that,” she made faces at the cringe-worthy names, “Stick to honey.”   The corners of L. Joe’s lips curved up. “Okay, honey~” He nuzzled her cheek while she pretended to comically gag. He was about to kiss her on the lips when she held a finger up, “Nope. Not until we both brush our teeth.”   “I already did. Does that count?” He blew air in her face, “See? Minty fresh. Pucker up!” He dangerously leaned in again.   “Wait, wait!” Miyoung shook her head and hurried into the bathroom, barely closing the door behind her.   Feeling a bit frustrated, L. Joe tailed her and sat himself on the side of the bathtub, waiting for her to finish brushing her teeth. Miyoung squeezed some toothpaste onto her toothbrush as she began brushing.   In a few minutes, she was squeaky clean. After tying her hair up into a ponytail, she turned to see L. Joe patiently waiting for her. Suppressing a smile, she left the bathroom, “Come on, Byunghun.”   “Coming,” he toddled after her. Miyoung entered the kitchen and gasped when she saw a pretty plate of pancakes, eggs, and sausages spread out for her, with some assorted fruits, as well.   “Like it?” Byunghun grinned widely, knowing all too well that she would.   “Of course,” Miyoung her lips, “When did you make all this?”   “I told you, I’m an early riser,” he brushed his bangs away from his face, “Sit, sit.” He helped her down in her chair. “I hope you don’t mind that I already ate, though. I kinda picked at the food while I was cooking, so I’m not really hungry.”   “No, no, that’s fine,” she took a sip of orange juice, “Why didn’t you wake me up too? I could’ve made breakfast today…”   “Uh, thanks, but no thanks. I’ve already heard stories about how terrible your cooking skills are from Yong—“ L. Joe sensed Miyoung’s stare and instantly shut up, “…I hope the meal is still cute enough that you don’t hunt me down. Look! It’s a pancake shaped like a bear!” He tried to distract her.   Miyoung sliced the bear pancake in half and took a big bite, dousing it in syrup. L. Joe backed away and gulped, “Yikes. Harsh.”   Miyoung rolled her eyes but smiled, downing it, “Thank you for the food.”   “That’s it?” Byunghun pouted. Miyoung stuck
