Cold Love - CNBLUE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqPCqaT71zs   --------------------- Narrator’s P.O.V:     In no time, Miyoung found herself standing on the porch steps of the grand Inspirit Manor in the land of the west, where the chasers resided.   If the Andromeda Manor was modern, naturistic, and cozy, the Inspirit Manor was the complete opposite. It was majestic, elegant, and extremely large to the point that it was both daunting and superior.     Miyoung found herself swallowing. The manor was already intimidating, but what about actually facing reality in front of her friends?   “Open the door, Hoya.” L spoke in a curt manner.   Hoya, glaring at Miyoung in both contempt and disbelief, stayed put. His gaze was accusatory, and Miyoung instinctively stepped back – straight into L. *Oh no. L oppa probably thinks I’m betraying him, too.* She tensed up.   But on the contrary, L put a comforting hand on her shoulder. It was hesitant, but it made Miyoung relax a bit.   “Lee Howon,” L hissed, “Didn’t you hear me? Open the damn door!”   Hoya’s grimace deepened, but he opened the door and entered anyway.   If only Byunghun were with her, perhaps she wouldn’t be so nervous.   Byunghun. She was doing this for Byunghun. She had to relax.   “Go on, Miyoung.” L urged, and she couldn’t help feel sorry for doing this to the people she cared about.   She bit her lip, and with much difficulty, she followed in after Hoya.   If her thoughts weren't so scattered, Miyoung would have actually swooned at the interior. She’d already been there a couple of times, but no matter how many times she saw the manor, she’d admit everytime that it was breathtaking. A chandelier and skylights illuminated the front entrance, and two sets of staircases invited you upstairs. The floor was a creamy marble, and every bit of the place was sparkling clean.   Hoya’s muscular figure grew farther away as he traveled deeper into the house and darted into the ground floor living room. Miyoung could hear the growing chattering and grew antsy.   She could hear the echo of his voice, “Jieun, we have a surprising visitor.”   It took her a while to figure out that she was shaking.   “Don’t be nervous,” L gently chided, “Just go in and say what you need to say.”   Miyoung’s eyes widened in surprise at L’s words. She tried to peer up at him, but before she could see his expression, he gave her a little push into the room. Miyoung stumbled, but then picked herself up, took a deep breath, and strode into the room, mustering up all her courage.   L kept his eyes on her and sighed. He had a faint suspicion of why she had been near the east in the first place, but he didn’t bring anything up.   Sure enough, Jieun and the rest of Infinite were inside. Surprisingly, Jieun’s father was sitting alongside them as well, limp in a wheelchair. He seemed older than he actually was, and he had grown feeble. He’d always been known to have poor health. Still, Miyoung had no qualms with him and knew him ever since she had known Jieun. She’d barely seen him around, though.   At the sight of her, Jieun’s face lit up. “Miyoung!”   “Miyoung-ah!” Sungyeol and Sungjong cheered.   “Welcome, Miyoung.” Woohyun sweetly smiled.   *Don’t smile too early.* Miyoung thought guiltily as she decided not to be too friendly. So she simply mustered a quirk of the lips at her and the boys and bowed respectfully to the elder, “Hello, abonim.”   From behind her, she could hear L’s faint steps.   Miyoung watched at Mr. Lee’s gaze flickered upwards from his newspaper and jolted slightly in shock when he saw her.   “Dad?” Jieun said worriedly, taken by surprise. Mr. Lee ignored her and patted her hand on his arm, reassuring her.   “My… Miyoung, is that you?” Jieun’s father blinked at her, “You’ve grown… into a beautiful young woman.”   “…Thank you,” she shuffled a bit uncomfortably. The last time she’d actually seen Jieun’s father was when she was sixteen. He’d been a workaholic and had always been holed up in his room.   Hoya spoke up, “I found her wandering around in the eastern end.”   *For Pete’s sakes, how many times is he going to repeat that?* She felt irritated. It sounded like he was immaturely proud to turn her in.   However, at the mention of the east, Miyoung noticed that everyone had frozen up in one way or another.   Jieun looked stunned, and Miyoung didn’t blame her.   “The eastern end?” Sunggyu blinked quickly before noticing the stressed, awkward atmosphere between L, Miyoung, and Hoya. He noticed Hoya’s hostility and his eyes narrowed.   *Come on. Someone, say something!* Hoya thought.   To his dismay, even Mr. Lee kept quiet and didn’t say a word. He simply stared at Miyoung.   “Look at the time,” Sungyeol brought up all of a sudden. “Sir, I think it’s time for you to rest. You seem tired.”   Mr. Lee looked up in shock at the mention of him. He seemed a bit confused before he glanced up at the clock, “A-Ah. Yes, I think it’s best if I get some rest now.”   “L,” Sunggyu started calmly, “Can you take Mr. Lee up to his room?”   Miyoung grimaced.
