Dear Yifan
Description
It's the year 2017, five years after EXO's debut. In the midst of preparing for their next comeback, Kris receives a large pile of fanmail. Expecting some amazing fanart or a heart-filled letter, he is gifted instead with a series of hand written letters that were dated 10 years ago, right when he left Canada to soon become one of EXO's beloved leaders. He opens the letter, feeling a little nostalgic upon reading the Canadian address. But soon he realizes that these are no ordinary letters. They are his memories, his adolescent years that seemed to be gone forever. After being sealed for 10 years, they are fianlly read and Kris relives his life and the people he shared it with.
Written in the perspective of his old forgotten friend, Kris revisits what exactly he left behind.

"Dear Yifan,
Make sure you don't read this letter until you've finally achieved what you wanted when you decided to leave.
From you know who"
{ monch says } Hello! Welcome to my reboot of my favourite original stories from my very first AFF account. I've grown apart from that account for a while and now I really miss all the stories I wrote. This story was originally written when Kris was a member of EXO bas in Feb 2013 (check out that published date! xD) when all 12 members were still in the group. As much as I respect the decisions of the memebers that have sadly departed from EXO, this story will retain it's original plot as if EXO was still whole today. This story has a special place in my heart and I consider it to be one of the best stories I've written despite it being written 4 years ago! The story unfortunately never got a proper ending, so I am happy to give this story the ending and closure it deserves. I hope you all enjoy and don't forget to drop a comment! :D
AIYEE! I've wanted to write this story for SUCH A LONG TIME. It's been sitting in my documents for God knows how long; even WAAAY before I first posted the forward. I'm really excited for how this story will go. I hope you enjoy and support this story! Don't worry, the letters aren't going to be super duper, overwhelmingly long; I can pump out a lot of these in a short amount of time.
Disclaimer: I do not own EXO. Names and characters are only being borrowed and do not reflect the personalities or morals of the real person. The storyline line is simply from my imagination. Any similar works created before February 8, 2013 are purely coincidental. The story has been transfered over from my old account (haz-spaz) to this one (mochizou).

Foreword
“Hey Kris, here's some of your international fanmail.”
The leader of EXO looked at the endless pile of paper that was thrown on the coffee table. He always looked forward to mail day.
He stared at the endless pile of addresses and names of his fans. The mail was piling up since EXO was having yet another comeback. After five years of being and idol, he finally felt the perks of training for so long. He loved getting fanmail from fans around the world. He had some time to kill before their comeback stage, so he picked up the letter on the very top.
Kris looked at the neat hand writing and grinned at the sender's information. There wasn't a name imprinted, but the country itself made memories flood his mind.
Canada.
Expecting some amazing fanart, or a colourfully decorated letter, Kris' smile faded. After blinking several times at how outdated the letter was, he frowned and began reading.
“Dear Yifan, Make sure you don't read this letter until you've finally achieved what you wanted when you decided to leave.”
It took all of the leader's will power to tear away from the page. He looked at the other letters; maybe he sould read a more uplifting letter. But instead, he realized that there was a series of letters from the same address with various numbers written on them. He looked at the one in his hands and noticed the neatly printed “#1” on the envelope flap.
“Kris, let's go. It's time for us to standby backstage,” Joonmyun said placing a light hand on Kris' shoulder.
Kris shook his blank expression and smiled at his bandmate to join the others. The two stood and gathered the eleven boys to gather. The rest of the group could feel the tension that grazed over everyone as Kris and Suho took their places in the circle. Suho began the speech he gave the team before every comeback. It wasn't until then Kris truly listened.
“Okay, everyone. Forget your nerves and always remember why you're here performing. Everyone here has all come from different places, but right now where all here together doing what we've all trained and sacrificed loved ones for. This is all worth it! Ready, one, two three! EXO, LET'S LOVE!”
Kris took in the loud celebrations from s, but his mind hovered back to the letter he laid eyes on earlier. Shaking those absent thoughts away, he stepped into position on stage and felt the rumble of the fan's cheers. The beeps in his earpiece warned him and he immediately put his game face on. “This is all worth it.”
