{KIRA’S POV}

“Thanks oppa…” I told Taeil as he handed me a can of soda. We were all in the garden enjoying the glorious sunshine. Well not all of us. Minhyuk is out with Chani somewhere. To be honest I don’t really care. A few days ago I found out that they are together now. The same day I got with Jaehyo. Coincidence? I think not. Anyway I couldn’t care less because I’m with Jaehyo now. He makes me happy. I think I’m happier with him than I was with Minhyuk. I’m not really sure since it’s only been a few days.

“Ya what are we doing this weekend?” U-Kwon asked.

“Same as every weekend. Nothing.” Zico answered.

“You two can get laid.” Kyung sniggered.

“Must you be inappropriate all the time?” I chuckled.

“I’m not inappropriate all the time! Only sometimes.” Kyung laughed.

I just rolled my eyes at him while Zico threw an empty can at him.

“We should all do something~” Taeil suggested.

“We should.” I agreed and nodded my head along.

“We can all go to the beach and use the beach house.” Jaehyo stated.

“I thought you’re never going to offer hyung!” Zico grinned.

“You have a beach house?” I asked Jaehyo.

“It’s not mine. It’s my parents.” He smiled at me.

“Still. It’s partly yours.” I pinched both of his cheeks.

“Is that settled then? Are we all going to the beach?” Ji Hoon inquired.

“Can I bring Minyoung?” Zico looked at Jaehyo. The latter nodded.

“Can I bring Rainee?” U-Kwon chipped in. Jaehyo nodded as well.

“What about Minhyuk hyung?” Kyung asked. Everyone looked at me.

“He can come if he wants. He can bring Chani too. I don’t care.” I said.

“I think he’ll hate us if we leave him out so you better text him now.” Jaehyo told Kyung. U-Kwon had started texting Rainee while Zico was already on the phone with Minyoung.

“Are you sure about Minhyuk hyung and Chani coming?” Jaehyo whispered to me. I looked at him in a very weird way.

“Of course I am sure!” I scoffed. Why wouldn’t I be sure right?

“Minyoung is coming!” Zico jumped up and down on the spot.

“So is Rainee! I’m going to her house now to help her pack!” U-Kwon declared before running off with a huge grin plastered on his cute face.

“I’ll just phone my parents to let them know.” Jaehyo told me and he disappeared into the boarding house.

“Kira noona do you know how to swim?” Ji Hoon asked.

“I don’t actually. I never got to learn.” I frowned.

“I’ll teach you!” The adorable maknae offered.

“Oh thanks very much Pyo Ji Hoon!” I smiled widely at him.

“I guess we should all get packing then!” Taeil announced.

“Kyung don’t forget your Speedo!” Zico laughed.

“I don’t own Speedos!” Kyung’s eyes widened.

The next day…

We all got to the beach at 9:30 am. Zico insisted that we get there early so we can all get settled in the beach house. Speaking of the beach house, it is fantastic. As much as I love the boarding house, it is nothing compared to the beach house. It has five huge bedrooms, the living room twice the size of the living room in the boarding house and a beautiful plus fully equipped kitchen. Jaehyo’s parents are also nice enough to fill the fridge and cupboards with food more than enough for all of us for the whole weekend.

“Ah~ I love the beach!” I said and took a deep breath, taking in the smell of the sea. Jaehyo’s arms s around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder. I lollop my head onto his and we swayed on the spot.

“Ya JaeRa which room are you having?” Zico called us from the house.

“The biggest one!” Jaehyo shouted at him.

“I knew you were gonna say that!” Zico shouted back.

“You brought a bikini right?” Jaehyo whispered into my ear.

“Anio, I brought an oversized t-shirt plus shorts because that’s what I’m going to wear when I go into the water.” I giggled.

“Chinchanayo?!” Jaehyo’s eyes widened in disappointment.

“I have a one piece swimsuit…” I tapped his cheek once.

“That’s good enough…” He chuckled and nibbled on my ear.

Suddenly… “AHHH! Get away from me Kwon-ah!!” Rainee came running past us. U-Kwon was running after her like a headless chicken. Rainee was giggling uncontrollably and in the end her legs failed her, making her fall on the sand. U-Kwon jumped on her and they both played in the sand, threatening to bury one another. They look really cute together, I must say.

Jaehyo took my hand and pulled me towards the beach house. At the corner of my eye, I saw two people walking towards the beach house too. It was Minhyuk and Chani who just arrived. They were holding hands and I couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy. I tried my best not to show it though.

“Hey hyung, glad you could make it.” Jaehyo greeted Minhyuk.

“How are you both?” Minhyuk asked casually. I looked up and Chani was smiling awkwardly at me. I saw Minhyuk tighten his grip around her hand.

“I’m good. Are you two okay?” I responded trying to sound friendly.

“Fine,” Minhyuk replied flatly. Chani then untwined her fingers from his.

“Why don’t you put our bags inside the house oppa? I wanna have a chat with Kira-shi~” Chani spoke to Minhyuk. I waved Jaehyo off to. So after a few awkward glances, my ex-boyfriend and my current boyfriend walked off together hauling bags to the boarding house while Chani and I started walking along the seaside. It was her who broke the silence.

“I know it looks like that I stole Minhyuk from you--” she started but I stopped her instantly. I smiled at her and looked her in the eyes.

“I don’t wanna talk about that. Besides it’s in the past now. No hard feelings. Araso?” I told her emphasizing every word carefully.

“But I have to know if you are okay with all this. Me being with Minhyuk. Because if you’re not, I’ll leave right now. I don’t want to ruin your weekend.” Chani said with sincerity.

“I’m totally fine with that. You don’t have to leave. No one’s weekend is going to be ruined. Friends?” I smiled and put my hand forward.

“Friends! Thank you Kira.” She shook my hand.

After our little chat, we joined everyone else in the beach house.

I helped Taeil and Kyung in the kitchen while the others were getting into their swimsuits. We were going to have barbeque for lunch and I was taking out plates from the cupboard, Taeil was sorting out the meats while Kyung was rummaging through the fridge. He was looking at the vegetables.

“Look! There are cucumbers and carrots in the fridge!” Kyung mentioned.

“My whole family are here!!!” He laughed out loud.

“Unnie! Ga ja, let’s sunbathe!” Minyoung came in the kitchen.

“Maybe later Minyoung-shi,” I told her.

“You’re not going to sunbathe…” Zico popped up behind her.

“Wae wae wae?” Minyoung’s forehead creased.

“Because I’m throwing you into the sea!” Zico laughed evilly and picked up Minyoung effortlessly. Minyoung tried to fight but it was no use.

“Zico is that really necessary?” I tutted.

“Yes. You’re next.” Zico winked at me before stalking off with Minyoung who was slumped on his shoulder. Taeil, Kyung and I looked at each other, smiled and then followed Zico. If he’s actually going to throw Minyoung into the sea then we all have to see it. Taeil was walking in front of me and Kyung was behind me. Kyung suddenly tapped me on the shoulder and showed me a video recorder. I showed him two thumbs up. As we all walked through the living room, Minhyuk narrowed his eyes at Zico.

“What are you going to do with my sister?” Minhyuk asked Zico sternly.

“Oppa help me!” Minyoung squeaked and kept punching Zico’s back.

“I’m going to throw her into the sea.” Zico answered nervously.

“Cool. Let me help!” Minhyuk grinned and followed Zico outside.

“No no no no no no no!!!” Minyoung screamed. Zico laughed like a maniac and power walked out of the beach house. He and Minhyuk went into the water and when the water reached their knees, they stopped. Minhyuk grabbed Minyoung’s legs and Zico and he started swinging Minyoung back and forth. Kyung was laughing beside me while recording everything with the video cam while Taeil was sniggering and taking photos with his phone.

*SPLASH* Minhyuk and Zico shared a high five while Minyoung swam up. She brushed her hair out of her face and then started splashing her older brother and her boyfriend. Just then Taeil started hopping on one foot.

“Ah!! I stepped on something!! AHH! What is it??!” He yelled.

“Oppa calm down~! Let me look!!” I told him and grab hold of his arm.

Kyung was now filming all this with a huge silly grin on his face.

Taeil looked wildly under his feet with a worried look.

“Is it a fish? Did I step on a fish??” He panicked.

“It was most probably a starfish…” Zico said.

“Or a jellyfish!” Minyoung chipped in.

“I would have been stung if it was a jellyfish…” Taeil mumbled.

“Don’t worry it was just a worm…” I giggled.

“I stepped on a worm?” Taeil’s eyes widened like plates.
“Ne…” I nodded still giggling.

“He would have actually cried if he stepped on a fish.” Minhyuk sniggered.

“Ya come on, let’s get the barbeque ready! I’m hungry!” Kyung stated.

So as Taeil, Kyung and I were cooking our lunch, U-Kwon, Rainee and Ji Hoon were busy building a humongous sandcastle, MiCo, Minhyuk and Chani were swimming while Jaehyo was going around taking pictures of everyone.

“Ah~! It looks awesome!!” U-Kwon said proudly when they finished their sandcastle. Ji Hoon was now pouring sand all over Rainee’s hair. Jaehyo came over to them and started taking pictures when Kyung winked at me.

“What are you thinking Kyung-ah?” I asked him suspiciously.

“Hold this~ I’ll be back.” He whispered and handed me a plate full of meat.

Kyung walked casually towards U-Kwon who still looked really proud of the sandcastle. Rainee was now burying Ji Hoon under the sand.

“Ya not too close!” U-Kwon yelped when Kyung nearly stepped on the sandcastle. If he could, U-Kwon would have hugged it protectively.

Just then I watched as U-Kwon’s jaw dropped as Kyung jumped on the sandcastle viciously ruining it all in a matter of seconds.

“Hyung! We took ages building that!” Ji Hoon gasped.

“You’re going to pay Kyungcumber!” U-Kwon growled and began running after Kyung. Kyung ran fast away from the unimpressed U-Kwon.

“Kwon-ah! If you manage to kill him, we can bury him at the cucumber field!” Minhyuk shouted at U-Kwon.

That evening…

Jaehyo was on the phone to his parents and the others were all doing something in their bedrooms so I decided to go out of the beach house and enjoy the sea breeze. I was just sitting down on the porch when someone suddenly sat down beside me. The wind blew and I smelt his scent.

“What are you doing here on your own?” Minhyuk asked me.

“Just chilling…” I answered with a smile.

“It’s nice here isn’t it? Shame we didn’t get to go here when we were together…” Minhyuk said his voice wavering. Is he still thinking of that?

Does he miss being with me? He looked pretty content with Chani.

I decided to ignore his statement and just moved on.

I didn’t want to discuss “us”. Not right now anyway.

“So you and Chani huh…” I said nonchalantly.

“Yeah. Pretty much~” Minhyuk answered looking far ahead. He was smiling but that smile didn’t quite reach his eyes. Was he unhappy with her?

“You and Jaehyo…” He trailed off.

“Yes. Jaehyo and I…” I gulped.

“You broke your promise Kira,” Minhyuk stated. I raised an eyebrow.

“Huh? What promise?” I asked him.

“I told you not to go out with Jaehyo. You promised that you won’t go out with him. I thought you knew how to keep promises.” Minhyuk sighed.

“I’m sorry but I can go out with anyone I want,” I snapped.

“Kira, Jaehyo will hurt you.” Minhyuk grabbed my wrist abruptly.

“No he won’t and let go of me.” I said and took my wrist away.

“I’m just looking out for you.” Minhyuk smiled sadly.

“I don’t need you to look out for me. I can take care of myself.” I said and stood up. He stood up too and grabbed my wrist again.

“Minhyuk let go of me.” I glared at him.

“Just remember I’ll always be here for you.” He said sincerely.

“Thank you but you have to stop telling horrible lies about my boyfriend.”

“I’m not lying. I told you that seeing you hurt would just kill me.”

“I’ll be fine Minhyuk.” I told him and walked away from him. Without looking back at him, I walked farther and farther away from the beach house. I took off my sandals and let the sand exfoliate my feet. Walking by the seaside helped me clear my head. I think I have been walking for 45 minutes. I decided to stop and sit down near the waves. I rested my chin on my knees and listened to the big waves. Jaehyo suddenly appeared.

“My parents said hi.” He told me with a cute smile.

“Tell them I said hi back.” I said in a not too cheerful tone.

“What’s the matter jagiya?” Jaehyo asked and grabbed my hand.

I blinked and looked at Jaehyo. I his face and smiled.

“Nothing…” I replied simply.

“I love you.” Jaehyo said sweetly.

“I love you too oppa.” I said. Our lips touched for a little bit but it still gave me chills down my spine. I loved the way he kisses. It was wonderful.

When we got back to the beach house, all the lights were out and snoring could be heard from the bedrooms. Jaehyo and I walked to our room hand in hand. I changed into my pyjamas in the en suite while Jaehyo got changed in the walk-in wardrobe.

“Can we cuddle in bed?” Jaehyo crooned.

“You don’t have to ask oppa…” I smiled at him.

We got under the covers and cuddled each other until we both fell asleep.

A few hours later I heard a faint knocking on the door. My eyes snapped open and I looked at the wall clock. It was 2:30 in the ing morning.

I wanted to ignore that person disturbing my sleep but he/she carried on knocking. I looked at Jaehyo and he was snoring softly beside me, his arms wrapped around me protectively. I sighed and got out of bed without waking him up. He flinched a little at all the sudden movements but he didn’t wake up. I tiptoed towards the door with my hair sticking out all over the place. I opened the door and saw a sad Ji Hoon in front of me.

“Sorry for waking you up noona~” Ji Hoon murmured.

“What’s wrong maknae?” I asked with a yawn.

“I can’t sleep without Toto…” Ji Hoon said his bottom lip quivering.

“Then why didn’t you bring him with you?” I asked.

“We’re near the beach… Toto can’t swim…” Ji Hoon stated.

I couldn’t help but smile at the sweet yet silly maknae.

“Do you wanna watch TV?” I asked him.

“Will you watch with me?” He requested.

“Sure,” I smiled and closed the door behind me.

We got to the huge living room and Ji Hoon turned the TV on. At first he started flicking through the music channels but in the end he settled to watch a documentary about polar bears. I sat down on the sofa and placed a cushion on my lap. Ji Hoon started lolloping his head on my shoulder so I told him to lie on my lap. He did and after just a few minutes later, I saw that he had fallen asleep.
