It had been one year.

One year since since a man known as Jung Yunho smiled.

One year since TVXQ did their last performance.

One year since Yunho danced or sang.

One year since Changmin was kidnapped.

As Yunho drank another shot of his soju, his mind continued to race. Every night he'd ask the same questions. What was Changmin doing right now? Where was he? Was he okay?

Was he still alive?

Yunho let out a defeated sigh. He remembered that night as if it was yesterday. The way his heart was beating too fast. The gun being held at Changmin's head. Yunho's feelings as he watched Changmin silently shed tears. The terrified look on Changmin's face was forever engraved in Yunho's memory. He remembered how he failed to protect the scared maknae. Changmin's scream would play sadistically in Yunho's mind, as if Changmin were reminding Yunho of how horribly he failed him. Yunho remembered feeling sick as the kidnapper gently Changmin's face.

He subconsciously brought a hand to his side, where a scar resided, a painful reminder of the night that changed everyone's lives.

Yunho tightened his grip on the glass he was holding as the kidnapper's voice suddenly played in his head. 

"He's mine, now." 

Yunho threw the shot glass across the room, he didn't care if it damaged his wall or not. He sat there, deeply breathing trying to get his emotions under control before he did something stupid...again. 

His phone rang, indicating a new text message.

Hi Oppa. ^^*
I hope your day went well. You haven't been eating again, I've noticed. Please make sure to have dinner tonight, okay? 
Have a good night and please get some rest.

Yunho's expression softened at the sight of BoA's caring message. He was glad he had loyal friends sticking with him throughout this whole ordeal, all of them helping him as he tried to figure out who has Changmin and where they could have been.

With a sense of hesitation, Yunho replied.

Thank you

His reply was simple. There really wasn't much he could say, but he knew BoA would understand everything he felt in his message. 

Yunho ran his hand through his messy hair. He sighed before rising out of his seat and began to head to his bedroom.

Yunho plopped into his bed. He his side, where his bedside table was. On the table, was a framed picture of the duo during their "Catch Me" tour. 

Yunho grabbed it and gently touched the photo. "Changmin...You WILL be coming home," he quietly said, saying the same promise he made every night. He placed the picture back on the table, prepared to fall into his usual, rough sleep.
