Narrator’s P.O.V:
“Honey, we’re here.”
L’s calm and collected voice woke you up. Groggily, you rubbed your eyes as you walked out of the car. It took you a few seconds to remember where you were, but after you saw the gravestones in the distance, you instantly remembered.
Becoming solemn again, you walked to your parent’s gravestones. Staring at the names, you almost broke down and cried. Your knees started to shake as you put down the two bouquets of flowers on the stones.
Luckily, L caught your waist right on time. *I don’t like it at all when ________ is like this. She becomes sad for the whole day.* He thought while bowing to both of the gravestones like you did.
L let you pay your respects first. “Mom… dad…” You whispered, trying hard to not cry. Your voice cracked at you finally let your tears freefall from your eyes. “L Oppa is really trying… I’m trying… We’re finally happy together, don’t you know that? Can’t you just accept that…?” You sobbed, letting your tears out.
You finished paying your respects, and now it was L’s turn. He was already heartbroken after seeing you brake down emotionally like that. You had gotten yourself to calm down somehow and just gazed at the floor.
L did a full bow and stared at the graves. “Omonim… Abonim… Do you still not trust me? As you can see, I’m trying my hardest to keep your daughter safe. I love her dearly with all my heart. I don’t want her to keep suffering like this… It’s breaking me on the inside. Please rest in peace and rest assured because I assure you…” He paused and gazed at your face.
“…I assure you that I will keep your daughter safe and love her no matter what.” L said with confidence and determination. You were awed by his confident and sweet side. You softened at him as he paid his respects.
After visiting the grave, you felt as if a huge weight was pulled off your shoulders. When you were driving back home in the car, you felt no need to cry anymore. After all, what would crying do for the situation? Absolutely nothing.
While L drove, you snuck a gaze at him from the passenger seat. You eyed his handsome masculine features such as his perfectly angled nose, neat hair, that mischievous glimmer in his eyes, and his kissable lips. Sure, he was a gangster and all, but that didn’t mean that he was one of those crazy ones. He was beautiful and had a true pure heart. You smiled at your perfect boyfriend.
“Oppa?” You spoke up. L didn’t take his eyes off the road, “Hmm?” He replied. “Before at the grave…” You hesitated for a while, “Did you mean everything you said?”
A smile took over L’s lips. “Of course. Why would you even ask me that?”
A silence ensued as your heart fluttered in joy and happiness. The silence stayed until you decided to break it.
“Oppa?” You questioned again.
“Mm?” He mumbled.
“I love you.”
L now looked lovingly at the blushing you. He sweetly grasped your hand more tightly and answered, “I love you too, Princess.”
