Chapter 0

I take a big step. I take a small step. I take a bigger step and a smaller step. Don’t let your feet touch those leaves! I play silently as I continue hopping down the soundless route to school.

It’s my second year in high school and I can’t wait to find out which class I’m in this year. “Hopefully I would get into the same class as Jiyeon and Luna again!” I murmur to myself before tiptoeing to step onto the tiny space in order to avoid stepping on the fallen leaves. Unknowingly, both of my hands start flailing as I try to balance myself. I am keeping myself from falling while attempting to step on minute spaces just so I would not lose in my little game.

“Ah!” I lose my balance and tumble on the ground. “I lost,” I mutter gloomily. I grab a bunch full of leaves before throwing it lightly as a fit of anger.

The ground is wet. I feel that warm and uncomfortable touch through my hands. I lift up my hand, examine it and bring it closer to my nose. Dirty and musty too. I make a frown as I help myself off the damp ground and sweep off the dirty leaves off my uniform. “Ah, and it’s the first day-“

“Are you alright?” I turn around and give the man a scrutinize look. “Eh?” I tilt my head a little and stupidly ask. I’m surprised. Someone… is here? Usually no one is willing to take on this path to school due to its spookiness and it takes a longer time to reach school. Questions start popping everywhere in my head while I continue to analyze the homosapien standing in front of me. I notice the same navy blue outer coat and the white inner shirt that I am wearing. The only difference is that he wears a pair of pants while mine is a skirt. He is also wearing a scarf that is covering half of his face which stops me from seeing his full profile. I wonder how he looks like. The humongous amount of trees along this narrow little path block out the sunlight which further prevent me from recognizing who he is. Maybe he’s a first year.

“You are not bleeding right?” the sudden unexpected reply and the frantic look on his face startle and continue to confuse me. Blood…? I blink my eyes twice as I watch him trying to examine my arms and legs with just his bare eyes. That look on his face makes me want to laugh, but somehow I manage to stop that urge. I mean, why would someone suddenly appear out of nowhere and ask if that person is bleeding? I can’t stop questioning him quietly in my mind while I stand there wordlessly.

“Are you bleeding?” the man’s strong voice stupefy me once again and I utter an “oh!” My reflexes strangely obey him and I begin to check my arms and legs. “Nope, no blood” I give him a friendly smile. He shifts his eyes and looks at me. They look as though they are asking 'are you sure?' “I’m fine,” I repeat myself, stating it more firmly this time. “I’m sure.” I think my reply further assure him. With that, he simply gives a nod, pull up the bicycle parker before leaving in a moderate speed.

Weird. I chuckle to myself once he’s out of sight. Really weird.

I’m intrigue.

 

A new year, a new story! :D This plot has been on my mind since forever but I've been too lazy to write it. And I can't believe that I've finally write a woou fic! *faint* Anyway, please do comment and subscribe!
