Sistar19- A Girl In Love
------------------
Monday morning, Kris entered Royal Ambassador Resort. He came all the way to Jaejoong’s office, but couldn’t bring himself to actually go inside. He hadn’t encountered Jaejoong since that awkward moment at the party. *What do I actually say to him now? Whatever. I can’t stay out here forever.* Kris mustered up the courage to knock on the door.
“Come in.” Jaejoong’s voice said from the other side.
*Here goes nothing.* Kris took a deep breath and entered the office.
“I’m almost done. Let me just sign a few things. Sit and wait, if you wish.” Jaejoong replied while busily leaving his signatures on reports.
Warily, Kris approached the sofas and sat on one. He glanced around, and his eyes landed on the wedding photo of Bomi and Jaejoong. *So that’s the superficial marriage.* Kris thought. They were both smiling, but now he could see that they weren’t blissfully in love. They were just a naturally happy duo who had the bad luck of being forced into marriage with each other.
His eyes shifted to Bomi in her lovely, white wedding dress. The corners of his lips lifted slightly. *She looks beautiful in a wedding dress. He’s lucky to have such an angelic bride.*
“Done.” Jaejoong shut the last folder with a sigh of relief.
Kris tore his eyes away from the photo and looked up.
“Sorry about that. I had to get these signed by noon, and I procrastinated until the last minute.” Chuckling, Jaejoong came over and sat on the chair. “So, do you have the final plans for the pool?”
“Oh. Yeah.” Kris had forgotten why he had come in the first place. He opened the folder and professionally explained his proposal for the roof pool.
Jaejoong nodded earnestly. “Sounds great. I’ll get the funds for that soon.”
“All right. I’ll start the official preparations.” Kris shut the folder.
Jaejoong closed his pen and slipped it into his front pocket. “Don’t you have anything to ask me?”
Kris froze. He turned his head and stared at Jaejoong.
“I’m sure you have a lot of questions.” Jaejoong settled back in his seat and crossed his legs.
Kris paused. *Oh,w hat the heck. It’s better to be upfront about this.* He placed the folder by his side and laced his fingers together. “Is it true that you have an arranged marriage with Bomi?”
“Yep.” Jaejoong confirmed.
“So…you don’t love her at all?” Kris questioned.
“Of course I love her.” Jaejoong refuted. Kris gawked at him. *One-sided love?!*
To his relief, Jaejoong corrected, “It’s just that I’m not in love with her.” Kris actually sighed outloud. *Thank god.*
“I know. Relieved, huh?” Jaejoong asked. Kris nodded without thinking then froze. Wide-eyed, he stared at Jaejoong. Jaejoong raised an eyebrow. *Oh, .* Kris thought. *B-U-S-T-E-D.*
Jaejoong bent over laughing. “You are so transparent, Kris! I can see right through you! You’re so easy to read!” Kris turned red and averted his gaze.
Jaejoong finally stopped laughing. He looked at his business partner and smiled gently. “She is a beauty, isn’t she?”
Kris wouldn’t fall for that trick anymore. He shrugged and looked everywhere but at Jaejoong.
Jaejoong chuckled. “So now you realize that she had no fault, right? I had much part in ‘affairs’ as she did. I probably have more history with the opposite than she does. Bomi is innocent, Kris. She’s a pure, sweet girl who has never fallen in love before.” “I know.” He murmured. *I should have trusted her sooner.*
“Well, that’s good. I’m glad everything is resolved. I’ll contact you when the funds are done. You can start the construction soon. I trust you to make the best rooftop pool ever, Director of Golden Tower.” Jaejoong grinned. “I’ll try my best.” Kris promised. He grabbed the folder, got up, and left the office.
Kris took out his phone and scrolled through his limited contact list. He saw Bomi’s name and stopped. *Should I call her or not call her? I just want to check up on her. What do I say? Hello, I’m Kris? Er, how are you doing? What are you doing right now? God, I sound stupid even in my mind.* Kris shook his head. He pushed the elevator button and continued to stare at Bomi’s name on his screen.
Ping! The doors slided open.
Kris looked up and halted. His eyes widened.
Bomi stared back, just as surprised. A slow, wide smile spread on her face. “Hi.” Bomi whispered.
“…Hi.” Kris softly spoke. He swallowed hard, and his heart rate tripled.
Bomi opened , “How-“
The doors started to close on her
