Paint Splatter (On Hiatus)

Description

Tao came to live with Onew, an ex cop, when he was five years old and had no memory of his life before then. Tao, now 16, is a recluse that would rather stay inside and paint portraits of the women that haunts his dreams. When he overhears a conversation between Onew and his ex partner, Minho, he begins to suspect that Onew knows more about his past then he lets on. As the curiosity takes ahold of him, Tao begins to look for anything that will help him regain the memories hes lost.

Foreword

After I tore my eyes from the horror scene in front of me they settled on something that stilled my heart and made a shiver crawl my spine. Sitting there on the floor was a boy of no more than 4 years old. He just sat there, in the middle of the room, painting with his fingers, showing no sign that he knew we had entered the room.

I cautiously crept closer to the boy, not wanting to startle him and when I get close enough I could see red splattered across his face.  When the realization hit me I couldn't hold myself back.

I practically throw myself at the poor boy, wrapping him in my arms as if I could erase what happened. Instinct told me to protect this boy from the world and all it's monsters. I pushed my check into the boys hair which was horribly greasy telling me that the boy hadn't been washed in a couple days.

"Hey, Onew you shouldn't do that. He has evidence on him." I turned my head to my partner who had just finished walking through the rest of the apartment. Not that there was really much to walk through. There was just the kitchen, living room, and a hallway with three doors, one I took to be the bathroom and the other two bedrooms.

I looked down at the boy and saw that he was still drawing, as if Officer Choi and I weren't there, as if I wasn't holding onto him like my life depended on it.
