BAM!

Baekho looks up at his apartment where the source of the sound comes from, he closes the mailbox and walks inside with mail on hand.

"You have awful timing." Aron acknowledges at Baekho's presence.

Aron is standing atop on the armrest of the couch, Ren is at the opposite corner and does a small kick in annoyance as he tosses back to lay down. At Ren’s groggy sense, he knew Aron must have interrupted his nap.

"Here for business or?" Baekho casually asks.

“Of course, that and other pressing matters, but we can discuss both. I’m a multi-tasker.” Aron says to Ren who glares from beneath his arm.

Baekho steps forward towards the fearsome warlock. “He’s had a long day, tell him later.”

“Don’t tell him that, he’ll drop in when we’re sleeping. Again.” Ren reminds callously and Baekho chuckles nervously, clearly Ren didn’t enjoy remembering that particular incident.

Ren then turns around and pats the spot by him, Baekho is distracted by an incoming call to see the gesture or the look of impatience on Ren’s face.

“Have you ever casted a spell on him?” Aron asks in all seriousness.

“No, if I had, he’d be a lot more doting.” Ren says simply, Baekho overhears that. Ren keeps his arms crossed, wearing Baekho’s long sweater whose sleeves dangle off his wrists and pulls his knees to his chest.

“I’d be.” Aron coyly adds.

“Try it, and I’ll see if warlocks can really burn at the stake.” Ren warns when they suddenly hear a recorder playing in the distance, horribly crude notes that couldn’t even be called music. Ren narrows his eyes and stands up, and with a dangerous look in his eye, heads to the source of the sound.

Baekho’s call ends just as the awful sounds cease, Baekho looks on in worry as Aron smirks as he acclaims the struck silence.

“Ren is so composed, so evil, so driven in his conquests.” Aron says out of complete admiration. Baekho shifts his eyes uncomfortably.  Then Aron returns his reluctant attention to the human. “But because of you, he’s empathic and lost in cloud nine for eternity now.” Aron accuses, obviously not pleased with that as he clenches his staff.

Baekho just offered a strained smile, not sure what he was suppose to say to that and decided on changing the subject. “Is there a reason you always wear fedoras?” He’s seen another warlocks before, all equipped with their own staff and similar maroon attire, this hat was unique to this one.

Aron bursts out laughing, Baekho didn’t get the joke. Aron uses his staff to nudge his hat over his eyes, “Don’t you know?”

“No?”

Aron looks a little triumphant. “Ren has a thing for them.”

Baekho stays silent. Aron’s glinted eyes are aimed to provoking the human into his trap. Baekho isn’t so easily prompted.

“I never had to use gimmicks,” Baekho replies rather politely. The warlock just smirks.

Baekho’s sure that the warlock would like nothing more than to raise his staff against him, and sees the possibilities roam through those eyes. He’s far too used to it.

When Ren returns to the occupied room, they both return their attention to him.. Aron gives a long, unabashed look of admiration at the witch’s presence. Ren just looks impatient.

Aron holds the staff to his side rather protectively. “I’ll be kind to you tonight and leave you be, I’d rather my staff didn’t suffer as the recorder did.”

Ren nods and the warlock gives another tilt of his hat as he bows and leaves with his usual BAM!

Ren rubs his arms and walks to the other. “Let’s go to bed,” he suggests. When Baekho gives no answer, Ren squints his eyes in suspicion at the spot where Aron had just left. “Did he say something to you?”

Baekho shifts his eyes. “Do you have... things you like?”

“You.” Ren says matter-of-factly.

Baekho clears his throat. “I meant more as in, what’s your type?”

Ren’s brows knit together. “I don’t really have one.”

“Not even things they wear? Like, what a guy’s personality should be, his clothes, his style, his car?” Baekho lists, but every item doesn’t register with the young witch. “Never-mind then,” he mumbles.

He feels Ren’s covered hand rub his shoulder and the younger places his chin on the edge of his shoulder, eyes perked up. “Can we go to sleep now?” And rubs his eyes to display just how exhausted he is. Ren usually sleeps better with Baekho there.

Baekho places his arm around the other’s waist and gives a long kiss on his cheek, nearly pushing the witch if he weren’t supported. Ren feigns annoyance by thinning his lips and scrunching his eyes. The lights flicker a bit and he knows Ren’s enjoying the affection.

Then Baekho asks something that ruins the moment altogether.

“Have you ever harbored feelings for him?” Baekho asks out of curiosity.

Ren gives him a deadpan look and Baekho holds up his hand. “Never-mind, never-mind.”
