                Taemin sighed. He was sure he looked like the exact opposite of everyone else in the party. He completely looked like he wasn’t having a good time at all, contrary to what the song was saying. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to be here at the moment. He wanted to. But for whatever reason, he couldn’t find it himself to join the people dancing the night away around the large bonfire. He couldn’t find it himself to even get a burger from one of the grills found in one area of the beach.

                He sighed, pulling his legs closer to his chest as he remained seated on the sand; a feet or two away from the shoreline. He hadn’t moved since he got there despite the many attempts of his well-meaning friends. Taemin looked at the sea, admiring the vastness of the space despite the fact that he couldn’t see much. The sea always made him feel calm and at peace; yet again, a stark contrast to the on-going party.

“Hey.” Heechul gently nudged his brother with his free hand; the other currently wrapped around his wife’s waist as they dance. “What’s up with your best friend?”

Kai shrugged; the dark haired man keeping a friendly distance between him and his dance partner. “I don’t know with him. I tried so many times to get him off his but he won’t budge.”

Sooyoung frowned a touch, glancing at Taemin’s direction. “Maybe I should talk to him.”

“He listens to you.” He nodded agreement; a playful twinkle in his eyes as he dropped his hands from his waist and bowed. “It was a pleasure dancing with you, milady.”

The tall brunette giggled as she curtsied. “Same here, milord.”

                Kai winked before turning and heading for one of the many grills to get himself a burger. Sooyoung shook her head; her face turning more serious as she turned her attention back to Taemin. He was still staring out at the ocean and she couldn’t help but frown again, wondering just what was up with him. Leaving the crowd by the fire, she made her way over to him; a gentle tap on his shoulder done to get his attention.

His face immediately brightened. “Noona.”

“Hey, you.” She greeted amiably as she sat on the sand by his side. “Penny for your thoughts?”

“I doubt they’re worth that much.” Taemin shook his head.

“What’s up?” The brunette nudged him gently in the side. “You look so… gloomy.”

“Nothing, really…” At her incredulous look, he rolled his eyes. “I swear, noona. It’s nothing. Just not in the mood for anything, that’s all.”

Sooyoung arched an eyebrow. “We should fix that.”

“How?” He asked doubtfully.

“Oh, ye of little faith. Just wait and see.” She winked before she got up and left.

                Taemin stared after the direction she headed to and with a shake of the bed, went back to look at the sea. It was still calm and soothing yet his heart was beating faster and faster in anticipation of what Sooyoung had in mind. Truth be told, the loud, fast-paced music was getting to him and he couldn’t help but drum his fingers along with the tempo.

“Here you go.” Sooyoung appeared by his side, handing him one of the two ice cold beers she had with him. “Drink up.”

“This is so how you intend on fixing my mood?” An amused expression crossed his face.

“Yep.” She replied, popping the ‘p’. “Any problems?”

“Well, I’m not sure if that will be possible once I get drunk and pass out, noona.” The dark haired man shrugged in mock nonchalance.

Her eyes rolled. “Then, I’ll take advantage of the period of blissful drunkenness before you pass out.”

His own eyes glint
