7th century. 650. Chang’an, the halcyonic capital of the Tang Dynasty, hostilely welcomes a young Shilla princess to marry the Crown Prince. Five years later when the Emperor and Empress are newly coronated amidst the merger inimically formed between Shilla and Tang, a maiden by the name of Song Qian steps into the imperial palace, delivering jade to the members of it. But when she trespasses, treading a little farther than necessary, she finds herself wound into the secret internal battle between the devious young empress and the people of the imperial palace. A battle of malice, betrayal and deceit emerges, of which there can only be one winner… Song Qian is yet to realize that the imperial palace conceals skeletons, and no amount of jade brocading imperial palace will appease the greed that will engulf the once-prosperous capital in complete pandemonium.

A/N:
Hi everyone :> First of all, this story is for the contest The Sky Is The Limit. (: This story is also dedicated to Delaney and Nemo, who have been my inspiration and my sunbaes for quite some time. I wrote this to show you both how much your 'pupil' has learnt from you ^^ Also dedicated to AKApop because she hearts Victoria XD This story is totally original though so you don't have to go check your fics if I copied anything. I had some inspiration from all the historical dramas I've been watching so far. It's my first story with someone other than Yoona as the main lead, but I'll do my best. Actually all six characters are equally important XD And as for couples, I'm going to keep everything a secret. But I'll tell you one thing - everyone basically is romantically involved with everyone. And yes, there's Yoogeun! He'll be under the name Wenrui in this story, in other words, he's a borrowed O/C? Yeah. I'll be attempting to write this in the LJ style - using the present tense. I'm pretty scared XD Oh yeah, this story will have violence, gore, a few slightly rated parts, a bit of psychological horror as well. I'm incorporating a bit of stuff I've learnt from school in it - you'll have to read between the lines a lot and you'll find out that even the smallest details link up. No one is entirely bad or entirely good in the story, so before you judge, you'd best make sure to wait until the end before you curse and swear about any of the characters. I love this so much and I can't believe it ended. Short story but really taught me so much. Reading this feels like I was watching 宫心计。I love how you explain everything that could fit, in other stories it shows concubines schemes each other, but here its Yoona and only her who hold the power and have a secured position. Since the start I never detest Yoona but respected her, she's clever and strong, loving how she protected Wenrui with her life. I also love the way you write their dialogues, Yoona's choices of words were gentle yet as sharp as knife, just like how people of old times sarcass each other. Throughout the story Luhan/Yoona's part was the one which made my heart scrunch, especially Lu's death. You really written out the complications of the palace well, and how people of those times just lived aimlessly, less love were present, how the people should cherish every single little happiness they could get. Much more how the people in the palace aren't happy and none were sincere, none could be trusted. Surviving inside the palace was like: I live and you die. Everyone's trying to kill each other to get more power, the cruelty of the beauty of the palace. This is long yet can't express all my love for this story! (I am a historical chinese dynasties drama freak) I must say that you did really well writing this story, this is my first time seeing this kind of story on aff and I admit I was awe stricken, this story was hard to write, the scenes, the romance, the dialogues, you wrote all so well and no awkwardness was present, but its too short TT I was hoping more scenes where concubines scheme each other and Qian trying to overthrow Yoona and Yoona realizing that Kris really love her. A sequel please? Wenrui's story? I LOVE YOU AUTHOR-NIM! #goes and upvote

I read this story last year and I've been wanting to comment on it for such a long time.
I love this story and it's my favourite! I wanted to type a long comment as well but I realized that 'bonbon' has said everything for me. Like, literally. Hahaha. So I guess I have my work cut out for me. But seriously, I love this story so much and I always think about it. I've always loved stories about the old Chinese traditions and the dynasties, I don't know what you call it, but I've always watched the documentaries and stuff. So this was like, such an exciting story for me to read. Thank you so much for creating this story!

Oh man oh man, where do I even start. First of all, AFF finally got something right with the featured story system LOL It's so hard to find well written historical stories.. but this went above and beyond. The effort you put into the complicated love lines is AMAZING.
When I first started reading, I thought "Oh yeah, Victoria's gonna end up with the Emperor, it'll all go smoothly and wrap up nicely." I was definitely not expecting the complexity of all the characters. I was so exhausted and tense while reading, I took a few days break before plunging back in for the last two chapters xD
I was rooting for Victoria in the beginning, she was naive and it was quite cute.. but then you developed her character into this greedy, selfish person. I was confused to who I was cheering for afterwards LOL While on the other hand with Yoona.. you began to make her seem more human. It was really surprising to see the development seem so natural.. so smooth. (Though, I still can't forgive Yoona for Kai and Seohyun's executions.. the way the minor characters affected me is still surprising O_O)
Zhou Mi and Luhan's characters were the death of me.. Perfect. I felt so many emotions for them D:
Your writing style is so beautiful and the way this story was structured with the dates was extremely effective. There were times when I read your words and was completely blown away by the wording (Alot of your quotes were my favourites too). The way you write is so ELEGANT.
Almost every time you switch to a different scene, you left me with an almost cliffhanger like feel (if that makes any sense)
I do not think there could have been a better ending. All the character deaths moved the story as well as killed the my feelings too xD And I love stories which end with the beginning, it effectively adds closure imo. Thank you very much for writing this! (FYI comments have limits O:)
TL;DR: "The Jade Princess" is a gem /shot for pun/
