Jessica's past

"Impossible only means that you haven't found the solution yet.”

"I wonder..." Father stated.

When Yesung left the room and left Father there alone with his thoughts He thought:

Father feels real sorry for Jessica, for scolding her and everything. There is this kind of guilt that wants to take back everything He just said to Jessica. But it's for her own good, right?

Something slipped His mind, the one that Yesung, one of his best angels, told him, "She's crying her heart out, inside her room. She always keep on saying, 'Donghae. Donghae.' " What could he have meant by that? That Donghae--is a human--is her soulmate.

"What if? What if? What if I give her another chance to live? To live a happy life with her soulmate. But would it be the best for her?" Father's train of thought ran.

He let out a loud sigh. "I should give her her freedom. Freedom from being an angel, and become human again, with her soul mate--I am God and I can give her that and I just hope satan just wouldn't interrogate with me." He shivered when He said satan, he's just not comfortable saying that name.

From those thoughts He called for Jessica's most approachable friend--Seohyun.

Minutes passed and Seohyun came in, "You called for me, Father?"

"Yes." Father said in a calm and natural voice of his. "I want to talk about Jessica."

Seohyun just nodded.

"I want you to talk to her about things--things about her life back on earth. Her previous love life, family and friendship. I have never talked to her about that. But I only know, that you're the only one that can convince her on that and she's your friend... Can I count on you?"

Seohyun played with her thumb and said, "Yes. I will. You can count on me. She's indeed a very good friend of mine."

"Good." Father had a curve on his lips as He heard Seohun can do it. "Thank you Seohyun. You have done several orders from me, and I really appreciate it."

Seohyun went out of the room and went to talk to a gloomy yet tired from crying Jessica. "Jessica." She said as she opened her room door.

"Seohyun? What are you doing here? You know I'm in midst of punishment right now. But why are you here?" Jessica rubbed the remaining tears from her eyes.

"I came here to talk to you. I know you need someone to talk to." Seohyun said as she sat at the white cement floor.

"Thanks for being there for me. It's like you're my only friend..." Jessica looked at Seohyun, she just remembered her past. "You know what, when I was then still alive, I never had a friend, they always feel this icy-cold aura around me, because I'm not fond of friends, I never knew what friendship really meant.

...I never experienced love or anything. I was hurt by my younger sister, she never respected me as her older sister. Like she held me captive as her bully. My parents-they never treated me well. They once forgot about my brithday and I had to celebrate it on my own. Whenever I get sick, they never even bother to come check on me, they only ask some of our house maids to take care of me... " She paused for awhile to breath. All the queasiness have come back.

She contined, "Life is just unfair and cruel... I had a very severe sickness, I had leukemia. It was in it's deadliest stage when I was brought to the hospital. The doctor told my parents that I only have a few days of living. They only realized how cruel and bad they were to me. My parents told me that they could donate blood, but the doctor just said, "It's no use. She lost a lot of blood." They said sorry, but I never felt any sincerness from them, even from my sister.

A few days have passed and I was still in the hospital, my parents were there for me. They took care of me. That's only time that I felt love from them. Until one day, God had taken my life away and I was here. That's when I have observed a lot of families, which were living by the streets and I they were happy becuase of the love they share to each other, even if they were poor and nothing to eat. That's the only time, that I thought that love was around."

While Jessica was saying those things she was quite sobbing and Seohyun remembered how she was loved back then when she had her life still. The love she felt from her family, friends and Donghae. But she felt real pain inside of her. She could have continued her life back then. Seohyun was in deep thought, "If I was in the state of Jessica back then, I would really feel hurt everynight--cry my heart out everynight."

Seohyun realized that Jessica was crying, she hugged her friend to give her comfort. "It's alright. It's the past and you should move on." Seohyun was stuck on her own words. A while ago, fate made Donghae and her meet, she was out of words and her love for him came back. If she have moved on from him, she wouldn't feel that feeling. "Everything's gone. You have your friends here in heaven and Father to be your guide. You can maybe start a new life."

Jessica released from Seohyun's embrace and said, "You're right."

Seohyun went back to Father and told Him, everything Jessica told her. "I know some of them, but I never noticed how she was dreadfully hurt inside..." Father thought of everything. He summed up everything He heard and said.

He finally made up his mind. "Seohyun, I want you to tell her..."

*Donghae's POV*

The sun has set and it was already a week and Jessica still haven't come back. I walk alone by the shore, barefooted. The waves crash on the rocks by the sand, I was deep in thought.

"Fate is just always there roaming around, waiting for the right call," I thought to myself. I still can't believe I saw Seohyun again, but I don't feel the same way towards her. Not love--Not hatred, but hope. I don't know why hope. It has been all over me, when I saw her again.

But one thing that I couldn't believe, that Jessica is just like her. An angel.

Hair from my neck began to go up--Goosebumps. But this feeling towards Jessica, is like what I felt for Seohyun, when she was alive, but just more powerful-I couldn't find the words. Could she be my real true love?

My love for Seohyun faded, but will I never forget Jessica. I'm sure she woudn't come back here on earth. Now that I just knew everything from Kyuhyun. He told me everything, Seohyun told him. And that Seohyun and Kyuhyun were in a relationship--wow, I'm surprised an angel can have relationships between humans.

But Jessica seemed real, not any kind of unnatural being, but normal. She never looked like an angel to me, but her beauty is like an angel. Her beautiful smile that warms up my whole body and heart. Her stunningly beautiful and perfect face is just like a goddess's.

I was lost in thought thought when I saw the person I have been longing for days, in a white clothing.

My saddened face turned into a bright smile.

"Donghae?" I heard her say.

My walk paced faster as I walk towards that beautiful young girl. She was now at arms lenght and I held her warm hands. This touch was different, different from before. I was confused.

"Why is you face like that?" She asked me.

I looked at her. "Why is the feeling of touching you, feel different?'

"I have good news for you oppa." She said in glee.

"What is it?"

"I'm human."

She's human again. "Chinjja?" I was so happy, that I can have her forever. Even marry her.

"Neh." I hugged her and she hugged me back. I breath in her scent, it was different too. But I was happy to have her back in my arms.

We started to walk hand-in-hand, our feet barely touched the sea water. I thought of saying to her, confiding with her, "Sica."

"Neh, oppa?" She looked at me. Her hair being blown by the cold sea breeze.

"Uhm... I want to confess something to you." I finally said. "That I love you."

Jessica stopped from walking and looked at me with a smile. "Oh, oppa." She suddenly hugged me. I was surprised, because I thought she woudn't do that, but she did. "I love you too." I can hear her sob on my shirt.

"Why are you crying?" I looked at her on her face.

"It's just that. I never thought you would say that you loved me. Because I loved you like forever. I waited for you to tell me that , and you just did."

I was happy yet something is pulling me inside that there is somethig missing. I carefully grabbed her chin and leaned in to her face. Our mouths were near each other, we could hear each others breaths. Then our lips met. We kissed passionately and deep.
