Charm walked out from her office and made an announcement “ hey everyone! I think no one here had missed the good news about the new project and since this is my first day back in this department I was planing to treat for lunch. So hurry and take your jacket, those who have car remember to bring the key's if there are still people over I have place in my car”

Everyone cheered for the news and went back to their seats to pick up their jacket and car key's when the door to the elevator open and the receptionist joked “ seems that Linda you doesn't have the luck for the treated lunch. But it doesn't matter lah, right?” and smiled at Linda who was stunned by seeing Ray in the entrance.

Ray smiled awkwardly at the receptionist and walked up to Linda “ I had my way around so though to take a lunch with you but seems to be in a bad timing” he explained

Linda could feel her pulse rising of happiness “ no it's not a bad timing at all. We can go out for lunch,I can have lunch with my colleagues next time” said Linda to convince Ray that it was ok.

Ray looked at her “ are you sure? It seems that everyone is excited about this treated lunch” he said and looked at the others

Linda shook her head “ they are always like this when it's lunch time doesn't matter if it's treated or..”

“ ok everyone, are you all ready we..?” said Charm and stopped a hundredth of second when she saw Ray standing there when she walked out from the room but fast continue her sentence “ are leaving now, Linda if you don't want to join it's ok otherwise I don't mind if your boyfriend join us” said Charm and had a light smile on her face

Linda began with“I think it isn'....” but couldn't finish it out when Ray interrupted “ That's a good idea, then I won't ruin your planing and I still can take a lunch with you and have a chance to know your colleagues” said Ray with a bright smile

Charm tap her hands “ well then everything is solved, do everyone have a seat now? If not I have space in my car”

“I think everyone got a seat, it's just Linda and her boyfriend left” Cindia answered and looked at Linda

“oh we have a car so we don't need a ride” said Linda

Ray tapped her on the shoulder “ I didn't drive today” Linda turned around with surprise “ you didn't?” she stated

“eh... Ms Sheh, I though he drove here but I was wrong, can be take a ride from you?” Linda asked

“sure, I did say I have empty seats. Let's go. Meet you all at seafood ocean” said Charm before taking the elevator down with Linda, Ray and some of the others. While the rest waited for the next lift.

Jason who stayed with Cindia and the others was so exited when he heard where they where going “ I can't believe Ms Sheh is treating us to seafood ocean, I have never been there before”

Cindia giggle and looked at him “ you rarely go out for a meal of course you never have been there”

“so you mean you often visit this kind of restaurants huh?” Jason said with sarcasm

“of course, I'm Ms sheh's assistant. She will take me to this kind of place when we are meeting costumers” Cindia explained “ but this is also my first time being on seafood ocean” she said with embarrassment

12:15pm on the car park to seafood ocean.

Ray went of the passenger seat and bent the seat down to let Linda out from the back of the cab. “ we can go in first the others will arrive soon” said Charm and headed towards the entrance

When the three was seated around the table Charm friendly asked “ do you want to drink something else than tea? If you want feel free to order”

Linda shook her head “ no it's great with the tea you ordered”

Charm nodded “ excuse me” and leaved for ladies room

Ray went up right after Charm went out “ I need to make a call” he laid to Linda and went out from the VIP room

When Charm came out from the ladies room she was met by Ray who stood there waiting “ can I talk to you?” he asked

“ what kind of things can't Mr Lam take inside the VIP room and need to take it here?” said Charm coldly

“ Linda doesn't know that we know each other, I haven't told her anything about us so..”

Charm stopped him “ Mr Lam I think I need to remind you there are no us and there will never be us. What you say to you girlfriend is up to you, you don't need to tell me anything” said Charm harshly and turned away when Ray grabbed her wrist “ Charm” before he could continue Charm brush his hand off her and went into the VIP room.

14:30pm @ Fung's bar

Ray sat in his office and though back at the time he spent with Charm just now, even if she was harsh with her words he still couldn't deny that he still enjoyed the time to be able to sit around the same table and eat. The light smile she had during the whole lunch was irremovable from his mind, he really missed the way she used to smile and laugh when they where together. Ray laid back and rested on the chair while thinking back at the old times

POV 1988-03-12 10:00am

“Charm you don't need to be scared, come over I will hold you” said Ray who was two meter away from the entrance to the ice rink and had his arms outstretched

“Ray! You know I can't skate why did you even take me here?” Charm complained when she finally went up on the ice but was holding on to the rink

Ray went up to her “ I know you want to learn so I though of teaching you, that's why I have been practicing ice skating for two years. Come you won't get hurt I will take care of you it isn't that hard” he explained and took her hands and started to skate backwards so she could learn how to skate forwards “ see I told you it isn't that hard” he said with a warmth smile

Charm who have been looking down all the time on the ice looked up with a happy smile but quickly became to fear “ watch out where you are skating!”

Ray looked back immediately but it was too late he couldn't stop in time and bumped into a man behind which didn't lead him to fall until Charm loss her balance and fall over him. When they both was seating on the ice and made sure that non of them was hurt they burst into laughter “ didn't you say you will be taking care of me?” said Charm and hit him lightly on the arm

Ray get back up on his skates and reached out his hand “ try again?”

Charm smiled brightly “ of course I won't let one fall scare me away. I will learn how to skate one day” she said and took his hand and tried to get up but slipped with one skate and fell back and drew Ray along

“ai ya, what a poor balance you have” said Charm who was under Ray

Ray looked down at Charm with wide eyes “ me? It was you who lost your balance and drew me along” and helped her up once again. When they was finally back on their skates he brushed the snow away from her “ do you still want to go on? Or do you want to rest for awhile?”

Charm shook her head continuously “ no I want to go on, I want to learn it. At least I should be able to skate without your help”

Ray hold her head to stop her for shaking “ ok, I understand but I think it might take more than today to teach you so you can stay on your own without my help.” and took her hand and starting to skate again “ if I knew you where this clumsy I would have brought pads and protection with me” he joked

“hey!, ok next time I won't bring you along and find someone else to teach me” Charm said with sarcasm and playfully pushed him away which made her lost her balance but this time Ray was fast enough to react and hold her tight

End of POV

A knock disturbed Ray from his thoughts but the smile on his face was still there when Joel went in “ oh, look likes someone is in a very good mood, what are you thinking?” Joel asked with curious

Ray shook his head “ nothing, I though back to the past. Do you want me something?”

Joel looked at Ray with suspicion “thinking back to the past and can be this happy, then your thoughts will not be without her right?” When he didn't get any response Joel continued with frustration“ Ray, what have I said to you multiple of times the past is the past. Now you should think of Linda and no other. Why do you still hold on to something that happen for so long and where you know clearly there aren't a future?”

“ I know and I remember every word you have said to me, I listen and I even tried today I went to her job and offered to take her out for lunch but they all where going to celebrate the new deal their company have made with Taiwan so Charm was going to treat them all and she even friendly suggested that I could come along if I didn't mind. I can't deny the feelings I have for her and I can't lie about the happiness I had when I heard her suggestion. You say I should think of Linda and no other I can control myself for not thinking of her but I can't control my feelings, even if I try to be kind and accept Linda I know I won't love her and all what I'm doing now will just be an act. It's better for me to tell her the truth so she won't get more hurt when she find it out later” Ray said with pain and hoped Joel would understand
