Filial Simplicity
Description
What would your ideal house look like? If you could savour it, how would it taste? How would it smell? What would it feel like if you ran your fingers across its surface? Would it guard your wounded heart and your emotions and make you feel safe? Would it make you feel whole again if it was filled with the presence of simple things you hold dear?
Healing.
Warmth welcomes the process. The question is what sort of warmth would defrost your icy, damaged heart? Would it be enough to merely wake up each morning? Would you need creature comforts or family, or serotonin-boosting snacks? Sometimes we take for granted the smallest things because we're too busy looking for picket fences and material goods.

Foreword
There they sat, healing together.
The grey feline pressed against the girl’s hand, purring contentedly. The frail girl was slowly learning how to be happy again. Sometimes the human wondered if the cat understood that she was convalescing. It was almost as if he purred a little louder when he detected progress.
She held her book in one hand and her trusty teddy bear in the other. The bear had sentimental value, with scars that matched its owner’s.
