Dongho was early, he patiently waited for Mina who was still fixing her things. Other students have gone out but some are still left including Ji Eun and their other classmates.
"Hey Mina I got to go!", Yuri said to Mina. "I'll call you later", she said and left running.
Ji Eun also went up to Mina. "Mina, your admirer is waiting outside".
"What?", Ji Eun pointed at Dongho who had his back at them. "Uhm no, he's not my admirer Ji Eun", Mina said smiling.
"No? Well I think he really likes you", Ji Eun said. "Goodluck!"
Mina can't think of anything to say so she just smiled. She carried her bag and went to meet Dongho.
"Hi", Dongho said when she got closer.
"Hello", Mina replied. "So, uhm...let's go?"
"Yeah,here let me carry that for you", Dongho said getting the books from her.
"Oh thank you", MIna said. The books were not really heavy and she's used to carrying them.
"Studying for the exams?", Dongho asked and Mina nodded. They talked about the coming exams. The basketball team was already in for the play-offs.
They're almost at the gate now and Mina saw Taemin waiting there. He's waiting for Ji Eun of course. After their talk everything seemed to be back to normal. They exchange smiles and still greet each other but no more long talks and walking home together, no more holding hands and hugs. Taemin has a girlfriend now, a real one. And it's not Mina but it doesn't mean she had stopped loving him. She doesn't know whether to smile because they're still friends or be sad 'cause that is all they are now.
Dongho stopped and made small talk with Taemin about their practice tomorrow. Mina just gave him a timid smile, that's when Ji Eun came.
"Hey guys!", Ji Eun said clinging to Taemin's arm. "Why don't we all go home together?"
Dongho wanted to say no but Ji Eun insisted so they got into the bus and they sat at the back. Mina was sitting beside the window. Ji Eun and Dongho talked while Mina and Taemin remained quiet only participating in the conversation now and then. Dongho had a minor injury on his left leg because of a car accident and had to stopped playing for a while. He was even hospitalized and had undergone treatment and therapy. He said everything is good now but his dad won't permit him to drive again.
They said goodbye to Taemin and Ji Eun finally when it's their turn to get off.
"Thanks Mina", Dongho said when they were alone walking.
"For what?", Mina asked.
Dongho smiled and scratched the back of his head. "Well for letting me walk you home".
"i'm suppose to say thank you and not you", Mina said smiling at him. They finally arrived at Mina's house.
"Well this is home", Mina said facing Dongho.
"Here", Dongho handed her the books. "So... I'll see you tomorrow".
"Yes", Mina said.
"Well... I'll go now...", Dongho said but did not move.
Mina smiles at him. "Hmm.. do you want to come in?"
"Huh?", Dongho was surprised. "Well..."
"Come on", Mina said opening the gate. "Mom!". Dongho followed her inside. "Mom, I'm home!" Mina called then her mom came out from the kitchen.
"Hey honey", her mom said when she saw them. "Oh you brought a friend...?
"Yes mom", Mina introduced Dongho to his mom. Her mom is not used to her bringing friends so she always get excited whenever some came which is very rare.
"Oh just wait here. I baked cookies", she said then disappeared to the kitchen.
"You look like your mom", Dongho said. "You're pretty like her".
Mina was surprise to find her self blushing. "Errr.. thanks"
They sat at the sofa waiting for her mom. She came back with a tray of cookies and some milk and tea.
"I don't know what you'll like dear", she said to Dongho. "So I just brought milk and tea".
"Thanks Mrs. Shim", Dongho said.
"Oh you look so cute... I remember one of my suitors looking exactly like you". She was about to tell a story but Mina spoke first.
"Mom I think you're doing something in the kitchen right?"
"Ah yes! I almost forgot!", her mom said laughing. "Hey, why don't you stay for dinner?". Dongho was about to say no but Mina's mother insisted.
"You have to excuse my mom. She gets excited whenever I bring friends over", Mina told Dongho. They watched tv while waiting. Mina helped in setting the table. When her dad came home her mom introduced Dongho to her dad and Mina can tell her parents like him. Dongho was polite and nice and Mina was surprise to learn that Dongho plays golf. Her dad is new at this so their conversation revolved around gold.
It was almost 10pm when Dongho went home.
"He's nice Mina", her mom told her when they were alone. Mina just smiled. "Well, I like him". Mrs. Shim looked like she needed to say something.
"Come on mom, spit it out".
"You know I like Taemin more...", her mom said.
Mina let out a sigh. "Taemin and I are friends".
"I know honey. I was just hoping that you know...", she began but could not finish. "Well enough of this. You still have class tomorrow".
"Good night mom".
MINA'S POV
It's been 3 months after the party. The night I got my heart broken. The happiness came and went and on that night within just seconds it passed. I didn't know it was even possible to break a promise so fast. I will always miss Taemin and everythng we've shared. Maybe it's time to move on like everyone keeps telling me to just get over Taemin. They obviously don't know how hard I'm trying. Maybe I'll start tomorrow. Yuri's right I can't stop living just because Taemin's not in love with me.
I kept our picture at the ice cream parlor. The only picture we have. His number is still on speed dial one but he never called nor send messages. The hardest part is not missing him, it's just that I once had him and now there's nothing that hurts more.
I hope tomorrow changes everything.

Well, here's another update! tomorrow had come early! I just slept for 3 hours or almost 4 and now I'm back. We were suppose to attend the mass 'cause it's Easter Sunday here and it's been a tradition that we go to church very early in the morning for Easter but so much for tradition even my mom is not yet awake! We'll have to attend regular mass later... Enjoy and wait for the next chapter which will be posted today! yehey! i'm gonna update again!
