TAEMIN'S POV
Mina sat down on one of the bench to watch us play. There were other
girls watching and cheering at the side, most of them are Minho
hyung's fans. I wanted to play good and beat Dongho but he's also
good. Everytime he gets the ball in he looks at Mina and waves at
her.
"I think you've got some competition here", Minho hyung said behind me. Competition? "You better make that shot Taemin"
I threw the ball and it went inside the basket. "YES!" I saw Mina clapped and cheered for me. Yes, just for me.
BREAKTIME
I went to Mina right away. "Sorry we had to drag you here", I said to her.
"It's ok. I like watching you guys play", she said then handed me a small towel.
"Thanks", I said and started wiping my face.
"Here, drink this", she handed me a bottled water. The guys whistled.
"It's so good to have a nice, pretty girlfriend huh!?". I just grinned at them then Dongho joined us.
"Hey Mina, I tried calling you earlier", he said even sitting beside Mina. I was just standing in front of her.
"Sorry, I fell asleep", she answered and smiled.
"Oh that's why. Do you have anything to do later?", he asked. Is this guy serious? He knows I'm just standing here and can hear everything, right?
Before Mina can answer I spoke. "Yes. We're doing something tonight. Why?"
Dongho then looked at me as if he only noticed me just then. "Really? Too bad. Maybe next time then", he stood up and went back to their bench.
We continued playing. I was so annoyed by Donho I could not concentrate. I already told them that Mina's my girlfriend. Sure, it's for 7 days only but still she's "my" girlfriend till our seven days is up. So why make a move on her? This guy is really something!
Dongho got the ball now. He's good at dribbling and it's difficult to steal the ball from him but I'm good at defense. I like defense more than offense. I tried to block him but he advanced and tried to make a dunk but I use my body to block him. He did not stop and continued his slam.
I fell hard, I heard Mina scream my name. Minho hyung knelt beside me. "Are you ok?", I nodded in response. "That was an offensive foul", he said to Dongho who appologized right away.
I took two shots and all were good. Thank goodness I did not break my arm but there were few scratches on my arm. The game ended and we lost by 4 points. What a way to end the game. I wanted to win badly.
"Are you ok?", Mina asked when I went to her after the game. She took my arm and checked it. "We should treat this."
"It's fine", I told her but still she looked so worried. "Look Mina, these things happen when we play and it's normal to get hurt", I continued when she did not say anything.
"Hey you two", Minho hyung came to us. "We're gonna grab something to eat. Wanna join?"
"No, he needs to go home", Mina answered before I can say anything.
Dongho also went towards us smiling at Mina. "It's too early. Let's hang out more!"
"Sorry, not this time time guys. I need to take a look at Taemin's arm", Mina answered and pulled me away from the guys.
We walked home and Mna got the first aid kit and treated my arm. "Sorry", I told her after it's done.
"I know basketball is a physical game but please be careful", I nodded then she gave me a smile. "Why don't we eat the cookies I baked?", she stood up and I followed her to the kitchen.
I took out the milk. "Dongho called earlier but you were sleeping so I did not wake you". She just nodded and continued eating. "Hmm... does he call often?"
"No, it's actually the first time he called", she answered. "Why are you asking?"
"Nothing", I quickly changed the topic. "When do you think our parents will be back?"
"I don't know. Why don't we call them?", she said then took out her phone but before she can dial her mom's number her phone rang.
"Don't you wanna answer it?" Mina was about to say something but I cut her off. "If that's Dongho, it's ok you can answer it". She turned away so I could not see how her face looks while she's speaking with Dongho.
MINA'S POV
Before I can answer Taemin assumed that it's Dongho who was calling but it's actually Key.
"Hey Mina. Don't tell Taemin that it's me calling", Key said.
"What? Why?', I asked, what is he playing now?
"Listen I'm helping you get closer to Taemin as promised, ok? Well closer than close since you know we saw you kiss already but - ", someone interrupted Key, it was Minho telling him to go straight to the point and don't waste time. "Well yeah, just do what I tell you ok?" I nodded even though he can't see me. He assumed everything's ok with me. "Repeat after me", Key said. "Dongho - ", Oh there's really something cooking here but I followed Key. I can't see Taemin's face but I know that he can hear everything, whatever Key says on the other line I repeated it.
"Now say this", Key started again. "Of course I'm free after 7 days". I'm still not getting this, I can hear other voices from the background. I think it's Onew. "Then continue with this, you played great earlier", I still followed Key. "Then try to sound a little surprise now. What you like me? Well, I don't really have a boyfriend after this so I guess I'll think about it" I can now hear Onew laughing with Minho. Key told me to continue. "What? You want an answer now? Well I'm still at Taemin's place so - "
Taemin snatch the phone from me.
