“ROBBER!! HELP!!”  a scream broke quiet atmosphere in the park

“Wh…Where? Where’s the robber?” Yoseob ran to the source of the scream and saw a man who was running to him

“She’s behind me. Stop her for me, okay? Thanks” the man said running away

“You’re welcome…I got you” Yoseob stopped the girl as he pulled her arms behind her back

“YAH!! What’re you doing?” she shouted

“Me? I’ll give you to the police, ROBBER~” he answered innocently

“Mwo? I’m not the robber, idiot. That man took my bag” she pushed him away as his eyes got widened

“Really? I’m so sorry”

“Shut up…” she was furious

“I saw the direction he ran. I’ll help you take it back. Let’s go” he held her hand again and they ran

“What’s this feeling? His hand…Just like grandpa’s. So warm” she thought and kept staring at his face from behind

“YOU!! Stop right there” Yoseob yelled when they saw the robber

Because he’s weaker than the robber so he loses. He gets punch on his face as blood starts coming out from his nose. The girl is too angry so she joins the fight. She uses her high heels to hit the robber. Seem like she has won, he throws the bag to the ground and runs away

“Finally…You hit like a girl. Next time, don’t help if you can’t do it” she sighed tiredly

“Yah!! I just helped you” Yoseob concentrated on cleaning the blood on his face

“Mian…Thanks for helping me” she noticed he was bleeding as she used her bare fingers cleaning his face and he looked up

“She’s gorgeous…” he was stunned by her beauty

“Oops, I have to go. Thanks” she suddenly walked to car which just arrived not waiting for his response

“Who’s she?” he mumbled

“He’s nice. But…I can’t love him” the girl looked at the view blankly in the car

{Next day – At school}

“Seobie-ah, somebody hit you?” Doojoon looked at his nose

“Ani. I bumped into the tree” Yoseob lied

When he and his friends are walking in the corridor, a group of boys and girls passes them. He realizes one of the girls – the girl last night. He knows she sees him but she doesn’t react and passes him like nothing happened

“Who’re they?” he asked

“Kingkas and queenkas. You shouldn’t mess with them, especially the girl in the middle. They’re very spoiled” Hyunseung pointed at ‘Yoseob’s girl’

{Another day - At the cafeteria}

Yoseob is standing in the queue waiting for food. He notices a group is bullying a student. The girl Yoseob met is pushing him to the wall. Then, she spills her coffee on the student’s shirt. Because of embarrassment, he runs to the restroom crying. After that, she walks away from her group to go somewhere as Yoseob follows. He doesn’t understand. She’s different from the other day. The thing he saw shocks him. She’s crying alone in the school’s garden.

“Hey…What’s wrong?” he came closer

“Wh…Why’re you here? Go away” Hyuna wiped her tears

“At least, answer me. Why you bullied that boy back then?” he sat down beside her

“Because that’s what my friends want to do, okay? Now go away”

“Why you followed their requests? And why you cry?” he didn’t understand

“Because they’re precious to me. They’re always beside me when my parents aren’t” she somehow felt safe when telling him

“They’re bad. Good friends won’t tell you do bad things”

“I don’t care. If I don’t play with them, who’ll play with me? No one in this school wants to”

“Me…I’ll be your friend. I’ll show you the beautiful world you haven’t seen. Give me a week. On the other, you have to stop bullying the others, do you accept the deal?”

“Well, alright”

In one week, Yoseob takes Hyuna to the orphan playing with the kids there or do charity work at the temple. He shows her that there still have people whose life is more miserable than her. When the week’s ended, she still goes with him. She’s less and less going out with her group so it annoys her friends. They don’t like it, especially they don’t like Hyuna becomes a friend of Yoseob, one of a good boys in school. Because of that, they starts telling bad things about him in front of her.

Hyuna and her group are sitting in the hall with other students. They’re at the first line near the stage. On the other hand, Yoseob is preparing the stage because he’s one of the organizers.

“Look at that boy. Short, baby face, no muscle. Is he gay?” a friend of hers comment loudly on purpose

“Low your voice down when you say bad things” – Hyuna

“What’s wrong? You have never spoken like that. Do you like him?” her friends stared at her

“N…No…I don’t…”

“So why are your lips trembling?”

“No, they aren’t”

“Psf…We get it” they turned away

Yoseob has heard their whole conversation when he’s on stage. He feels happy and chuckles at Hyuna’s answer. She defends for him in front of and she likes them. He knows that even she keeps denying.

After few months, Hyuna totally isn’t friend with the kingkas and queenkas unknowingly. They don’t bother mess with her and Yoseob’s friends because they do care about her but in the wrong way. She has made more friends and more people want to become friends with her after they know she isn’t bad like they think.

“Will you come to the orphan tomorrow?” Yoseob asked

“Of course, I’ll. Wae? Is something wrong?” Hyuna  stared at him

“Uhm, nothing. I’ll bring some biscuits for the kids”

“If so, I’ll bring some drinks for them”

“Ah, the orphan has to be closed until afternoon because it’s repaired”

“Really? I’ll come at 5PM then” she answered innocently as he tried to hold his laugh

“What’s funny?” she noticed

“Nothing” he shooked his head

“You’re weird today. Is it because the weather is too hot so it affects your brain?”

“Maybe”

“Whatever, let’s go to class”

“My brain and my heart all have been affected but it isn’t because of the weather, Hyuna. It’s because of you” he thought

{Next day}

“Why do the kids look so happy today?” Hyuna suspected when she was sitting on the bench with Yoseob watching the kids

“Why can’t they be happy?” he chuckled

“But it’s hyper than usual” she took a sip of americanio she bought

She buys for her and him americanio but juice for kids. It’s not good for them drinking coffee. It’s almost 7PM. It’s dark but somehow the orphan hasn’t any lights at the yard.

“Where did the kids go?” she couldn’t see them because of the darkness

“Yoseob…” she realized he was gone as well

“Yah!! Where are you guys? It’s not funny” she called feeling scared

Suddenly, the trees are lightened up. The word ‘Saranghaeyo’ can be seen clearly. Hyuna covers in shock. She can’t believe what she sees. Kids and Yoseob appear behind the trees. Kids are holding balloons when Yoseob has a rose.

“When did you prepare it?” she finally spoke

“Well…Yesterday and today’s morning…This is for you” he gave it to her as she received crying

“Don’t cry~” the kids said

“Mian…” one hand he caressed her hand when the other wiped her tears

“Will you be my girlfriend?” he hugged her and she couldn’t stop sobbing but she managed to nod

“Pabo. Why you’re so sensitive?” Yoseob pinched Hyuna’s nose lightly

Like a signal, all the kids turn away covering their ears in unison.

“Don’t hide your heart anymore. I’ll love you more than you love me” he kissed her reddened cheeks

“I…I love you, Yang Yoseob” she finally confessed

“I know. So do I” their lips met
