Warning: Terms & Conditions!

Hi, my lovlies! Just a little warning for you all c;

Lisa & I are going to go beast mode on rules & deadlines.

This means NO exceptions! unlessit'sserious

No matter how much we love you, it's such a hassle to organize.

It's not fair to us nor is it fair to the people who finished their stories on time.

So please show respect & follow all rules by READING

all of them, any FAQs & announcements given.

Please & thank you

Summary of Rules:

follow these & you'll be safe

- so when you guys comment with your entries, your story must already be COMPLETED

2. Must be a NEW story, created on or after December 2 and ONLY for this contest

3. Must use AT LEAST 1 of the 10 prompts given

4. Please indicate the prompt(s) you used in your foreword or description

- use of prompt doesn't need to be in a literal sense

5. Please link our contest in your foreword or description

6. Please read chapter 5 & 6 for more details

The Prompts:

1. Sometimes I think the human heart is just a simple shelf. There's only so much you can pile onto it before something falls off an edge and you are left to pick up the pieces. -From House Rules by Jodi Picoult

2. We all do things we desperately wish we could undo. Those regrets just become part of who we are, along with everything else. To spend time trying to change that, well, it's like chasing clouds. -Libba Bray

3. I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. -Gilda Radner

4. Who has never killed an hour? Not casually or without thought, but carefully: a premeditated murder of minutes. The violence comes from a combination of giving up, not caring, and a resignation that getting past it is all you can hope to accomplish. So you kill the hour. You do not work, you do not read, you do not daydream. If you sleep, it is not because you need sleep. And when at last it is over, there is no evidence: no weapon, no blood, and no body. The only clue might be the shadows beneath your eyes or a terribly thin line near the corner of your mouth indicating something has been suffered, that in the privacy of your life, you have lost something and the loss is too empty to share. -From House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski

5. When I die, don't come near my body, because my hand may not be able to wipe your tears anymore. -From Tumblr

6. We all wear masks, and the time comes when we cannot remove them without removing some of our own skin. -Andre Berthiaume

7. You've got to jump off the cliff all the time and build your wings on the way down. -Ray Bradbury

8. We cross our bridges when we come to them, and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered. -Tom Stoppard

9. A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes. -Mark Twain

10. Perhaps it’s true that things can change in a day. That a few dozen hours can affect the outcome of whole lifetimes. And that when they do, those few dozen hours, like the salvaged remains of a burned house—the charred clock, the singed photograph, the scorched furniture—must be resurrected from the ruins and examined. Preserved. Accounted for. Little events, ordinary things, smashed and reconstituted. Imbued with new meaning. Suddenly they become the bleached bones of a story. -From The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy

Chapter 40: I'm not sure if this is for everyone, but the links in the received entries aren't working. I'd really like to read the other entries.. it would be appreciated if you could fix it!
But if others aren't experiencing this, then I guess something's wrong with my computer.
