At the beginning of time, the World’s elemental sources were created. As the Earth was created, mixing molecules and atoms, fabricating the land all living things walk along and making up the pure essence of the World, a small amount of the twelve chosen worldly elements were mixed and made the ultimate source of power.

Some say it is older than the creation of the Earth itself, and was created by beings that lived before the existence of the universe and placed in the core of our planet; some say that it was God who had graced them with such ultimate and powerful energy, no one exactly knows where or when it was created.

When the race of humanity was first created, and unearthed this magical power, they didn’t know what it was exactly, or what it did, but it was seen as important, and the world was torn, some even fighting their own flesh and blood just to be the one to hold, to have that precious source, greed and want enveloping their souls. In the end, it was lost, and soon forgotten, the world recovering from the great bloodshed and massacre, and soon falling back into what would be called normalcy.

That was the first cycle.

Two hundred thousand years ago.

Five hundred years after that, the second cycle began, and along with it, came the twelve elemental guardians. These guardians had been blessed, and also cursed, and could each control a component of this power, the elements having been infused into their being, running through their bloodstreams and a part of what made up them. Their sole purpose was to stop the cycle from repeating itself. No one knew about these guardians, not even themselves.

Supposedly that’s why they always failed.

It was only when the thirteenth cycle began that someone, one of the elements, noticed and knew that they had to unite to stop the cycle ever repeating. So he made it his mission to find the others and try creating a way for them to all find each other and figure this all out. Together, they marked themselves, swirling, interlocking patterns represented by the colour of their element and entwined around their wrists, infused with their powers so when they died, the next group of elements had the marks.

But even the guardians had their rivalries, seeing that some elements weren’t compatible in real life, they may of not have taken a liking to each other. This made it harder for any of them to concentrate on finding anything to help them because they were always trying to stop themselves from killing each other. Feelings mess with your head you know? They draw you in and you start forgetting the plot of everything you need to do and slowly all you’re focused on is why you hate the person you’re sitting next to.

It was hard.

Fast as the wind

Unbreakable beings that bend the laws of what humans would call normal.

Fate had seemed to make up its mind on what it wanted to happen to the human race. History had sent the human race running in circles and circles, rewriting itself in the exact same way as before. It supposedly created the race of humanity for its own enjoyment, to watch them drown, watch them perish. It was always the same. A war, the power, the guardians, the killing.

They have the power to stop this, to bring this loop to an end before it brings an end to them.

They’ll need a miracle though.

The fifteenth loop had to dawn upon the world sooner or later.

No one ever knew how it started, but people had guessed that it had to have been coming.

In the year 2439, World War III had started.
