“Hello!”
“Oppa!!!!! I MISS YOU!!!!!”
The girl exclaimed in excitement, making the latter squint his eyes at the high pitched squeal of his sister.
“Yah! Dongsaeng, don’t you just squeal like that. My ears hurt!” he scolded.
The girl chuckled on the next line, “Mian Oppa.”
“Sure, sure,” he sighed. “How are you doing there in Jeju? Is the hospital still in good shape?” the tanned guy asked as he leaned over his leather chair, taking a break at the whole day’s work.
“Yup, still good. How about Seoul?”
“Still the way it is. Anyway, why did you call, is there anything I could do for you?” he asked, curious at the sudden call of his sister.
“Ah, ne…” she answered, suddenly nervous. “Can you do me a favor?”
His eyes widened, getting more curious. His little sister, asking for a favor? This is a first. “What is it?”
“Can you please agree first, Oppa?”
His brow rose. “Sure, anything for you little sis.”
“Really?” she exclaimed.
“Yes, now tell me what it is before I change my mind,” he teased.
“YAy! Oppa JJang! Thank you… thank you so much. Anyway Unnie and I will visit you this Friday. Can you make up a room for two? I have a company.”
“Really? Sure why not! I really wanted to see both of you anyways. Is that your favor you’re asking me?” he asked a bit excited for the home coming of his sister. Even though he hated her for being annoying, he missed her to the fullest. “How long are you two going to stay?”
“Just for a night, and no. It wasn’t the favor I was asking you yet, Oppa.”
“Can you stop beating around the bush then? I already agreed and at least inform me so I could prepare everything, okay?”
“Oh yeah… uhm…” she hesitated for a bit. “C-can… can my company stay there for the time being?”
“Stay? Who??” he asked.
“She’s unnie’s and I’s patient. She’s kinda lost and…”
“A she?” he interrupted, exclaiming. It was the latter’s turn to put away the phone from her ear.
“Oppa, you agreed already. Touch move!!!” she whined.
“TOUCH MOVE? Yah, you… you’re asking me for a girl to stay at my house.”
“Oppa,” she whined again. “As much as I wanted her to stay with me, she can’t. I even barely stay at my room for a day and no one can attend to her,” she explained.
“Is she that ill?”
“Ani… she… She’s kinda lost her memory.”
“An amnesia patient?” he exclaimed again.
“Please oppa,” she begged. “I’ve already settled her bills. We’re all set for Friday… please…”
“Why me?”
“She’s my friend, Oppa. Please do it for me… pretty please…”
He pondered and sighed. She was using her aegyo voice at him.
“Okay, okay. I’ll let her stay. I just hope she’ll behave well.”
“Of course she will Oppa. And didn’t you tell me that your maid will be leaving soon? At least now, someone will look after your daughter while you’re at work.”
“Sure, sure. Anyways, I already agreed,” he said, shrugging.
“Really?? Really??”
He can’t help but chuckle.
“Oppa, I’ll see you on Friday!!!”
“Okay take care, Suzy-ah!”
“Ne, oppa. Saranghe!!
“Suzy wait!”
“Ne Oppa?”
“What is her name?”
“Oh yeah. They named her Jessica. Anyways Oppa, I have to go. Bye!”
Before he could even say another word, the call was ended. ‘Jessica?’ He sighed and lifelessly slumped his back at the leather chair. A visitor…
“Well…”
