“What’s your relationship with Nana?” Ren asked one day, unable to hold it for any longer.

“Hmmm? Why do you want to know?” Minhyun replied sleepily, his head resting on the desk.

“Nothing in particular. It’s just, what does a guy like you have to do with a girl so popular?” Ren said, making his tone nonchalant. He glanced at Minhyun, waiting for his answer.

Minhyun took out his biology book. “If you really want to know…..”

“Yes?” Ren leaned forward eagerly.

“She’s a very special person to me.” Minhyun said. “We’ve been together ever since I was born.”

“I knew it.” Ren thought. Minhyun looked briefly at him, then smiled ever so slightly.

Class started. The first class was biology, a subject which Ren excelled at. He pretty liked it.

“Class, we’ll be having a project due next week. Everyone, pair up with a partner.”

As soon as the words were out of the teacher’s mouth, girls started crowding around Minhyun’s table, pushing this way and that.

“Minhyun, pair up with me!”

“No, he’s mine!”

“Get out of my way! Minhyun is going with me!”

“Here we go again,” Ren sighed. He stood up to look for a partner, only to be dragged down again.

“What the-? Minhyun?!”

Minhyun pushed through the crowd of girls and put an arm around Ren’s shoulders. Ren flinched at the touch.

“Sorry ladies, but I’ll be going with Ren this time.” Minhyun said, flashing a dazzling smile. The girls whined this and that, but eventually gave up and walked away.

Ren however, was not pleased. “Why did you do that?” he grumbled at Minhyun. Minhyun kept his arm on Ren’s shoulders.
