Description

A short narration about Sunggyu's thoughts of her leaving him, and how he decided to put an end to his melancholy.

Foreword


            

 

            “Hyung, are you sure about this?” He found himself searching for an answer as he stared through his already listless eyes. Dark eyes replaced his bright eyes for some weeks already. Finding himself that the elder was very firm of his decision, Nam Woohyun let out a sigh as he went across him, setting up the tripod and the camera.

            “I am sorry, Woohyun-ah…” Kim Sunggyu weakly whispered with a bitter smile curving his lips as he watch his friend set up the camera from the corner of his eye. He flipped another page of the book he was reading, he scanned it down, flip page, flip page, flip page. Like how the pages would flip, memories of her with him flashed through his mind. They were actually very sweet memories, but it’s as painful now as it was as sweet before.

            Grown tired of hearing his own heart shatter, he sighed heavily and smiled softly at Woohyun. “Woohyun, would you like to join me for some coffee?” he asked, soft smile never fading from his gentle face. Woohyun gulped, feeling a lump on his throat; refraining himself to break down. Everything was just wrong. He looked down, and then shook his head languidly. No, hyung.

            Kim Sunggyu pleasurably poured his cup some coffee, with thoughts flowing as the liquid flows out of the pot.

            Honestly this is the truth; there is no use in trying to hold on to the scattered pieces.

 

            It will only break my heart.

 

A/N: For the sinking of my GyuJi heart. Thank all the HoJi moments from Respond 1997 for this.
I am losing motivation to write stories when OTPs break... let me find another couple to ship~TT 3 TT
 
I am going to say here as well that the scenario was all pretty much inspired from Nell's "The Day Before"
and I am going to say as well that the MV can be actually interpreted differently by viewers,
so this is my (and the majority of the viewers') interpretation and do note that I made huge alterations
with the story and fabricated it with my idea. Ciao!

So this is the first ever Gyuji focused fic I read - although it has been my guilty pleasure and potential ultimate favourite pinkfinite otp since forever - and I am genuinely upset now. TuT Sunggyu is to me something you might close to being a bias and as much as stories shouldn't affect me, your oneshot did pain my heart. But in an enjoyable way, it left a bittersweet after taste. I think your little author's note wrapped up the fic well for me, since I'm not used to your writing style which makes this oneshot all the better for me!
I just read that it seems more and more Gyuji shippers are leaving the ship for Hoji, I find this saddening but I don't want to mourn unnecessarily.. sob. I hope Respond 1997 (as much as I love Hoji too) won't extinguish all Gyuji shippers. :'D But if it does reduce the fans big time, then I want to recognize this oneshot as the bittersweet ending to a glorious era!

Can I say, it's really heartbreaking for Sunggyu. And the fact that he drugged himself because it's all too painful for him. sobs :'(
