Description of Characters

Ok Taeyeon (19): She might look nerdy, but she is nothing like a nerd, unless a nerd is as clumsy, slow and well... academically challenged as her. She might not even have passed her exams if not for her intelligent brother, Ok Taecyeon, who had to tutor her intensively. Looking nerdy does not let her feel bad about herself though, since her mother had always told her to look as nerdy and ugly as possible, so that she will know the person who said he loves her, truly loves her for herself. Since she willingly dressed like a nerd, and is very much loved by the people around her since young, she is more of a confident girl, until she started to date Xiah Junsu, who made her feel low about herself, for three years.

Jang Wooyoung (20): He is the rich kid, the sole heir to the Jang Corporation. However, other than when he is with his two best friends, Nichkhun Horvejkul and Jung Yonghwa, he just feels uninterested in the other happenings in his life. Girls flock to him like metals are attracted to magnets, but he just feels irritated by all of them, that is... until the girl Taeyeon appears in his life. He never received a "no" from anyone, let alone someone who dares to play a prank on him. He gradually starts to have feelings he never felt before, including jealousy and love. He also has a painful secret he has never told anyone else other than his two best friends, a secret that indirectly creates an obstacle for Taeyeon and him.

Nichkhun Horvejkul (20): He is one of the two best friends of Wooyoung, and another rich boy, the heir to the Horvejkul Holdings. He has a sad past, in which his mother drowned to death, due to her inability to swim. Unlike Wooyoung, who just pushes all girls away from him, he had flings in the past. However, when he got to know Taeyeon, he felt that the feelings he had for her was different from that towards other girls, but he just could not pinpoint the reason.

Ok Taecyeon (25): He is the big brother of Taeyeon, and loves his family very much. Being intelligent both academically and street-wise, he took it as his personal mission to protect his little sister, who is in many ways different from him. After he completed his bachelors and getting a degree in hotel management, he went straight into army, and broke up with his girlfriend, Yoona. When he was finding a job, Yoona introduced him to the hotel her father was a shareholder of, which belongs to Jang Corporation. Sunny is also in love with him since they were younger, but he was unaware of her feelings towards him.

Sunny Lee Soonkyu (19): Although she is from the upper class in the society, she has been best friends with Taeyeon since they were 10, and has been crushing on Taecyeon since she was 15. Sunny thinks of herself as the protector of her two best friends, and she will stand up to others if either of them are bullied. However, she does not dare to confess her love to Taecyeon, who simply treats her as a sister. She thinks of Yoona as her rival in love, as Yoona is not only Taecyeon's ex-girlfriend when he is in college, but she is still trying to get him back. However, she is unaware that Taecyeon is not in love with Yoona, but someone much closer to her...

Seo "Seohyun" Joo-Hyun (19): She mixed with Sunny and Taeyeon only when they were in high school, where she was the quiet loner. The two girls decided to befriend her, and she soon warmed up to them, and are now best of friends. Having never fallen in love before, she does not understand love, much like Wooyoung, Nichkhun and Yonghwa. She was initially irritated by Yonghwa constantly appearing in front of her, but gradually, she found that Yonghwa is different from her first impression of him.

Jung Yonghwa (20): He is a childhood friend to Wooyoung and Nichkhun, and they all know one anothers' family backgrounds and secrets. Like Nichkhun, he had flings in the past, but Seohyun made him feel like she is "the one" for him, and he began his persistent wooing of her. After Yonghwa found out that both his best friends have fallen for Taeyeon, he was worried that their friendship will change.

Im Yoona (25): She got to know Taecyeon when they are in college, taking the same course. Like many other girls from their school, she has a crush on him, though she has a better chance as she is close to one of the guys he hangs out with. In the end, because she was very persistent and Taecyeon was not interested in other girls from their school, he started to date her. However, he broke up with her right after graduation, before he entered the army, stating the reason that it would be difficult to continue with their relationship. However, she tried her best to keep in touch with him, and when he was out of the army, she gave him a job in the hotel she was working in, and it helped that her father is a shareholder of the hotel.
