Can a heart remember the feeling the mind failed to recognize?
Foreword
It was a wonderful day. Warm, but not dry. The early sun of August 2012 started to peek out occasionally from behind the clouds giving the whole garden view a nice glow. The smell of pink and white peonies, fluttered around the walk to gazebo, filled the air. The sweet strains of classical music drifted to the guests and family members as they took their seats. Luhan cringed. The day would have been perfect if a certain someone named Minseok, is not late. He couldn't help but feel worried. Minseok, or as he always refer to as his Baozi, was never late. Not at this very important event in their lives. Not on their wedding. Thoughts of Minseok changing his mind and running away from their wedding flooded his mind. The fact that he was not answering his phone when he was trying to make a call for nearly an hour now made the matter worst. What if something bad happened? His forehead creased. That couldn't be it, right? But he couldn't help but think otherwise. He really didn't know what to do anymore. Why can't he just pick the goddamn phone?
Yixing who was seated on a chair with the other guests noticed his best friend’s immense distress. He walked towards him and patted him on the back.
“Any luck yet?” he asked only realizing the foolishness and obviousness of his question after. Of course there is no luck yet because if there is, his best friend wouldn’t look like .
“I know Minseok...” he started “He’s not the type of guy to just leave you hanging. I am sure he got a pretty good excuse as to why he’s late.”
“I know but, can’t he just answer my calls? Can’t he just inform me what is happening because I really do not know? I don’t know what to think anymore. I am so worried. What if something bad happened? What if...” He trailed off. He noticed the guests started wondering too. Some gossiping and trying to speculate, there are others looking at him, trying to get some idea while feeling sorry all at the same time. He glanced at his watch. It’s 11:30am. The ceremony is supposed to start an hour and a half ago. Should he just call the wedding off?
As if reading his mind, Yixing suggested giving it another shot. “Call him again one last time. If it doesn’t get through, I’ll help you clean up the mess.”
He nodded. He once again pressed the redial button while silently praying the call to get through. Please Baozi, just please answer the phone. 1..2...3...4...5... He waited through an agonizing five rings. He almost gave up when the phone’s finally been answered.
“God, Minseok, I was worried sick about you. What happened?” he said frantically.
“Uhm, Excuse me... ” the person on the other line hesitated. “But are you related to the owner of this phone?”
