Amber had been a wallflower all her life. With the fact that she has that "boyish" look, no one wanted to befriend her, until a girl her age changed it all. Krystal was her name, or so Amber heard. She transferred from California to study in Korea. Luckily, they got along well because Amber had been in Californa when she was a little kid. Because of Krystal, Amber gained a lot of confidence and met a lot of new friends. Even though Krystal had a lot of impact in her life, she still couldn't forget about her long lost best friend. Amber couldn't forget her smile, her everything...

Foreword

"Good morning, class. Today, I have a special surprise."

Amber rolled her eyes. Whatever the teacher says, she has no interest in it. She looked out the window and looked at the sky. 'Why am I even here? Who needs school?' She thought to herself.

"We would be joined by a transfer student from California for the rest of the school year."

As Amber heard the word, 'California', her eyes shot back to their teacher and listened eagerly. California...it's the same place where she last saw her best friend. She tried to stop the memories but it all kept on coming back.

"Krystal? You can now enter the room."

The whole class turned to the door. A tall, beautiful lady with long, black hair and round eyes entered the room with a big smile. Amber looked at her as she walked and reached the front and faced the class.

"Please inriduce yourself."

"Nae~" she nodded. "Annyeong, Krystal imnida. I'm from California, I've lived there all my life. Because of my father's business, we decided to move here in Korea. Don't worry, I'm fully Korean so I speak Hangul fluently." She paused for a giggle. "I hope we can be friends!" She ended with a bow.

The teacher smiled. "Very well said, Krystal! Now go find a vacant seat and make yourself comforatble." Krystal bowed once again and went for a vacant seat, which was beside Amber.

"Erm, hi. Can I sit here?" She asked Amber softly. Amber, who was looking out the window again, looked up at her.

She was in loss of words so she just nodded. Krystal beamed at her and placed her bag and then sat down afterwards. "I'm Krystal, and you are?" She reached out her right hand for a handshake.

Amber stared at Krystal's hand for a matter of seconds. She just snapped back to reality when she realized Krystal was still waiting. "Oh, uh, I'm Amber," she finally took Krystal's hand nervously. Amber wondered why she somewhat felt an electric shock run through her body.

They let go of each other's hands. Amber looked away as soon as it happened, but Krystal spoke.

"I hope we can be friends."

By the end of the day, those words kept on repeating on Amber's head like music on replay. She didn't know whym but there's something about Krystal...
