I reached my rooftop apartment and noticed the lights in my room are . I clearly remember not having the light on because I didn't even use them in the morning before I left for school. ...Unless somebody broke in! I know it can't be Ah Young. Maybe, it's the landlord, but I already paid this month's rent...

I slowly creep up the stairs, careful not to make any noise. Should I call the police?! I reach the last step and peek into my window. I see a ahjumma looking around inside and a man in a suit beside her. Can it possibly be a loan shark? But I never borrowed money from them. It must be a mistake! I made a move to try the door knob, but my foot caught on the raggedy welcome mat by the front door and next thing I know, I'm sprawled across the floor. Dammit, they must of heard that that.

The apartment door swung open and the ahjumma stepped out. I scrambled up and held tightly onto my bag. It's my only source of defense right now. I hope I don't have to use it.

"Omo, kwenchannah?" The ahjumma asked, peering at me with a concerned face. "Gil Ra Im-ssi?"

"H-how do you know my name?" I asked, shocked that the Ajumma knew who I am.

"Of course I know your name." She chuckled. "Gil Ra Im-ssi, I'm your mother-in-law."

And to that I only have one reaction. I am barely able to utter out my "Mwuh?"

Gil Ra Im - Orphaned at an early age she supports herself by working at the Love Again Cupcake Cafe. She's seventeen and is the main female lead in the story.

Kim Joo Won - A wealthy, spoiled eighteen year old. He hates poor people and bully other, but he's tolerated because of his family background. He is the main guy lead in the story. 

Im Ah Young - Ra Im's wealthy best friend and is obsessed with looking good.

Han Tae Sun - A smart Sunbae, that volunteered to be a study hall monitor, so he can put it down on his college applications and seems very standoff-ish.

Manager Seong - The owner of Love Again Cupcake Cafe, who hates how Gil Ra Im works too much. She's also always desperate for more customers. 

Im Joo Sung - The general bodyguard/butler for the Kim household, otherwise known as Butler Im.

Moon Boon Hong - Kim Joo Won's mother, also known as the ajumma or Mrs. Kim or Madame Kim or emeoni. She wants Gil Ra Im and Joo Won to get married, coming up with sneaky schemes to do so. 

Oska/Choi Woo Young -  He is Kim Joo Won's twenty year old cousin and is a known idol across all of Asia. He is really smooth around woman and is always in conflict with Joo Won. 

Yoon Seul - Being the pretty girl of SK Insititute, she feels that Kim Joo Won belongs with her. She dispises Gil Ra Im for the fact that she is engaged to Joo Won.
