Hyesun’s POV

The reactions on their faces were terrible. I don’t know if I wanted to run away or just shrink down to size.

His mother who was wearing a blood red dress was astonished of what his son said. She covered with her tiny pink fingers and her deep dark intimidating eyes transformed into a rather confused eyes.

His father in the mean time, patted her mother’s back while speaking to her softly in a foreign language. What was his father saying to his mother?

The “doll-faced” princess still kept her emotionless façade and chose to not say anything.

After the old couples’ terrible reactions, his mother gestured us to sit in the opposite side of the table where the doll-faced girl sat. Sehun looked nervous. Maybe because he was in the middle of his “pretend” girlfriend and her “soon-to-be” girl.

Her mother finally spoke. “Your name?” She said as she crossed her arms and slowly move her eyes to me which was in contact with Sehun before.

“Kim Hyesun, Mrs. Oh” I said in the most formal tone I could ever make.

“Do you happen to know why I invited this girl?” She asked as she pointed her small pink fingers to the doll-faced girl.

I nodded. Why would I lie?

“Then why would you come here if I didn’t invite you? Did you inform me about any appointments?” She said harshly.

“Omma!” Sehun said to her mum softly to prevent her from speaking but he failed because her mother flashed a hand at him meaning “Stop, I’m not finished”.

“You belong in the playground little girl” She laughed hysterically. “Why would you wear such clothes in a “formal” restaurant” She pointed at my clothes as if it were a joke. I wonder why, but it stabbed me like knives. Why does it hurt? Why did I have the sudden feeling of killing her mum? My eyes were becoming teary. I felt embarrassed in front of the crowd that was around us looking at us clueless of what was happening.

Sehun grasped my hand which was on top of the elegant table.

“She was wearing that because she wanted to express her true self. Unlike other beings here who is acting like a total witch whilst wearing something fancy and elegant. Don’t you get my point mum?” He said to her mum as if she didn’t gave birth to him. Sehun, I never knew you could be such a rebel…

“Oh Sehun!” Her mother said in a unpleasant voice and stared at him with her eyes filled with anger from his son’s disrespectful words.

He pulled my hand and he ordered me to stand up.

“We’re leaving” He bowed and we got out of the restaurant. Mission accomplished I guess? We only went there to introduced me. I guess I’m a bad shot already?

“Sorry about my mum” He looked down.

“It wasn’t her fault, really. You surprised them with me. Who wouldn’t be angry?” I fake a laugh just to get him to smile but I failed.

“I really didn’t like her words about you” He said coldly and his face darkened.

I caressed his shoulders to try and calm him down again.

“Why did you answer your mum like that?” I asked him while still looking at his darkened face.

“Because I was hurt about those words about you. How dare her...” He said while trembling.

“It’s okay really, it was my fault wearing such an outrageous outfit in a formal restaurant. I’m sorry I ruined the lunch with them” I looked down staring into blank space as he did.

He was still angry. I picked up is downed face and start to touch my nose with his. He was shocked but he didn’t move.

“I hope it worked” I let go while chuckling and came back to my normal position wherein I was staring at blank space.

“What worked?” He asked, confused.

I sighed and smiled. “When I was young, my dad used to do that to me when I was crying. He told me that if I kept crying, our noses would be stuck together” I let out a chuckle.

He chuckled back. He patted my head. “You want to eat lunch somewhere?” He smiled warmly like the way he smiled on our first day of meeting.

I nodded and he pulled my hand. I got used to him pulling my hand. It wasn’t as awkward as before. It was like we’re really dating.

We went at home because he took me to another expensive restaurant. I didn’t like wasting money.

“What’s for lunch Ms. Oh?” He said in a teasing voice screaming so I could here him in the kitchen. ‘

“Leftovers!” I screamed out.

“Mwo?!” He asked.

“Wae? There’s still plenty of this dish! Dig in!” I said as I placed the kettle in the small table.

He sighed as he lifelessly took meat out of the hot kettle.

“Be grateful you’re eating food, other kids in 3^rd world countries starve to death you know!” I nagged at him like my mum used to do to my sister.

“Ms. Oh, why do you sound so different now?” He asked while putting more food in his mouth.

I blushed and looked away. He’s right, why do I sound so different? Why do I feel like I’m back to my old self?

I was the master of changing topic. “What are we going to do now? I mean your mum is currently angry at us both” I asked.

“Don’t worry. I always do that to her. Her anger will pass by as fast as ice melts under the sun” He continued devouring the food that I made last week.

I chuckled. “You know, you shouldn’t be like that to your mum even so!” I knocked his head.

“Arraseo! I’ll start being a good boy nae?” He raised both of his eyebrow and made a heart sign with his arms.

I smiled and continued eating the food. He bit his lip which cause me to widen my eyes.

While we were eating, his phone rang. He’s having a conversation with his mum. “Mum I’m sorry for what happened earlier, I didn’t mean to really… Just don’t speak to Hyesun like that again nae?” He pleaded then he smiled. “Okay, tomorrow 7pm” He dropped the call and smiled at me.

I patted his head. “Good job” I kept eating until I spat out some words again. “What did your mum say to you?” I asked as I gulp water.

“She wanted all of us to have a proper dinner and she said she’s going to apologise to you” He kept eating.

She’s going to apologise? What kind of sorcery did Sehun do to her? Evven though I felt nervous. There was a tiny spec of me saying, “I’m excited”. Because I knew it was another day with Sehun again. This will sound weird, but I kinda like this guy. No reasons, simple, “I just like him”.

BACK TO THE PRESENT>>>>>>>

Hyerin’s POV

Luhan asked me out today so we can talk more about what happened to us in the missing years. I can’t say no. He wasn’t just any other friend. He was a friend I didn’t see for 12 years.

I heard the gate swung open, footsteps approaching and a knock on our door. That must be Luhan.

“Hey Lu…” I was going to greet him.

“Missed me?” He said in a cocky voice.

“Aish! Kim Jongin! What the hell are you doing here?!” I screamed.

“Taking you out for the whole day, what else?” He said.

“You could be ing around me again and who says I’m coming with you?!” I asked as I glared at him.

“Tsk…” He pulled my hand and dragged me to the bus stop. I couldn’t escape anymore because the next thing I knew I was sitting beside him inside the bus.

“Where are we going?” I asked him coldly.

“Why do you sound grumpy?” He asked as he flicked my nose lightly.

“Aish! Don’t touch me!” I nudge him which cause him to almost fall off his seat.

Again, it was silent. I was getting nervous. Where is he going to take me.

My poor soul just had to ask. “Where are we going?”

He sighed and flashed a ticket out.

“A couples’ festival?! Are you crazy?! We’re not even a couple!” I kept punching him and trying to get the ticket so I can rip it off.

“Why? It looks fun! Baekhyun gave it to me because he doesn’t have any girl to go with. He received it as a gift from the fans” He smiled as he pointed out the ticket.

A couples’ festival with Kim Jongin? Deep inside, I know I’m excited and happy but how would I know if he feels the same? I’m curious. What would happened in this festival? Hmm…
