Destruction is all that’s around me. There’s shattered glass and holes in the wall: all that’s left after they came for me. My family’s mangled corpses lay in a heap at the base of the stairs. They shouldn’t have tried to protect me. I fought as hard as I could for as long as I could, but in the end, I’m stuck blindfolded and bound in the back of some van going who-knows-where.

“You bastards,” I shouted in no particular direction, “where are you taking me?!” I heard a deep chuckle and I felt a large, rough hand grip my chin.

“She’s a little firecracker don’t you think? I’m pretty sure the Boss wouldn’t mind if we had a little fun with this one, right?” As he said this, his hand released its grip on my chin and started to migrate south towards my chest. I blindly kicked in front of me and triumphantly smirked as my foot slammed against what I assumed was his gut. That soon changed as I felt a sharp pain against my left cheek and tasted the metallic tang of blood as it invaded my mouth.

“You little ! Oh, you’re going to regret that mistake.” He slammed my body to the floor of the van and pinned me completely beneath him. I struggled and squirmed against my resistance. My wrists were raw, and during my struggle, the blindfold slipped off. I caught my first and only glimpse of one of my assailants. He was a burly man with hair everywhere, but his defining feature was his eyes. His left eye was a bluish green color, as for the right, it was dead and had a prominent scar that ran from his hairline, through his eye, and down to his chin. I wasted no time in spitting in his face. His face turned deadlier as he drew his arm back and let it collide with my already abused cheek.

“Nathan! As much as I’m sure she’s annoyed the crap out of you, the Boss wants her there in one piece; you’d rip her to shreds. He also warned us that she’s highly dangerous. Just drug her and call it a night. She’ll be withher kind soon enough.” Nathan sighed and moved away from my still struggling form.

“Lewis, she’s just a girl, how dangerous could she be?” His back was turned to me. I spotted a syringe filled with some unidentifiable liquid. I concentrated on it and watched with delight as it lifted from its spot on the ground and aligned itself with Nathan’s jugular vein. He let out a horrifying scream as the thin piece of metal pierced through his skin and emptied its contents into his waiting bloodstream. The van came to an abrupt stop and my head slammed against the floor of the van. I reeled in pain for all of two seconds before I it up and tried opening the door with my feet. I had just barely gotten the door open when Lewis appeared before me. He held a cloth in front of him. Before I could react, he pressed it against my mouth. I felt dizzy and my vision began to blur. Before I out, I recalled Lewis spitting on me before saying something along the lines of “Filthy Monster.”
