I woke up on my couch in the livingroom. Yoseob and Dongwoon had slept over I believe because they were silently snoring on the couch and the floor beside me. I tried to sit up but groaned as pain shot through my body. I laid back down, trying to close my eyes again and go back to sleep. Out of the blue, I heard footsteps coming into the livingroom. It was light but the silence echoed it throughout the whole room. It was silent at first, very distant, but it got closer and closer. I closed my eyes, pretending I was still sleeping. The footsteps stopped when it reached me. A hand touched my face and I tried my best to not show emotions.
"Thanks for everything, Kikwang," a voice said. It's Min-ah. Why is she still awake? "Thank you," she said and stroked my face with her palm. Her hand was freezing cold but I felt a sudden warmth travel down my body. Her hand stroke my face down to my stomach, over my bandaged wound.
"I-I'm so sorry," she said and I heard her break in between tears. I felt cold tears drop down onto my hand. She wiped the tears that dropped onto my hand and apologized again. She stood up, wiping her tears and silently walked away from me. I opened my eyes to see her retreating figure in the dark. The front door opened and she went outside, closing the door behind her. Shit! I tried to get up again, only to feel more pain in my stomach. Shit! I-I need to stop her!
I finally stood up, holding onto my stomach and the couch for support. I slowly made my way to the door, opening it. Rain was pouring down onto the cement, hard. I could barely see Min-ah turning the corner. I felt a hand on my shoulder, and turned back to see who it was. Yoseob stood there, looking dumbstruck.
"Where are you going Kwanggie? You're still hurt," he said. I brushed his hands away and walked out into the rain. "Are you crazy?!" Yoseob yelled and tried to drag me back into the house.
"Let me go Yoseob!" I yelled, shaking his hands off of me.
"Yah, Kikwang!" Yoseob yelled and turned me around to face him. "Where are you going?! Are you sick?" He said with a worried face.
"Let. Me. Go, Yoseob. For the last time, let me go," I said, staring straight into his eyes.
"Eh... Are you okay? W-what's wro-"
"She's gone! She's walking away and I need to stop her!" I yelled, cutting Yoseob off. He looked at me with a shocked expression, finally registering what I said. His hands loosened on me and I turned back to the road. I started walking again and his hand grabbed onto my hand. I turned back to see him handing me an umbrella. I grabbed it and gathered up my energy to run after Min-ah.
I turned the corner to see nothing but rain. She's gone, I thought as a flash of a figure rush around the corner. It took a lot of energy to run the block but I managed to get around the corner. The figure was walking peacefully down the sidewalk. I half dragged, half ran up to her. I grabbed her left hand, the hand that was not injured, and twirled her around. Her face was in shock as she tried to get away from me.
"Why are you running away?" I asked which stopped her from pulling away.
"Why do you care?" she asked, her eyes cold and hard.
"Are you okay? Did something happen?" I asked, opening the umbrella Yoseob gave me to shade both of us. She just looked at me in confusion and then in anger.
"Why'd you come out here?!" she shouted and pushed me away. I winced as the pain from my stomach erupted again. "S-sorry, are you okay?" she asked in a whisper and held onto my arm to steady me.
"Y-yeah," I said and looked at her. Her worried eyes looked at my bandaged wound. I was only wearing a faded white tee and the rain soaked it, making the tee see-through. The bandage can be seen wrapping around my stomach. My vision was starting to become hazy and I held onto the wall for support.
"A-are you okay?" she asked, seeing me waver.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"Babo! Why'd you come out in the rain? Your wound could get infected!" she yelled at me with worried eyes. "Why'd you follow me?! Are you crazy?!" Her eyes were teary again and I reached up to wipe her tears away but she slapped my hand away. Her voice wavered but her eyes never left mine. "Do you have any idea what you just got yourself into?!" she yelled.
"W-what?" I was confused. She was yelling at me for coming out in the rain, then she's worried at me for getting hurt? What's going on... my train of thought got cut off as she started yelling again.
"You almost got yourself killed!" Her tears ran down her cheeks and she didnt bother to wipe them away. "Do you know who you were fighting? Do you have any idea what he could've done to you?!" she paused to take a breath and wipe her tears away. "Why?" she half whispered.
"Huh?" I jumped at her question.
"Why?" she repeated. "Why did you save me?" She brought her hands to hide her face and cried.
I looked at her in surprise. "I-I..." I stuttered. I didn't know what to say. She was right, why did I save her? Why did I get myself in this mess in the first place? I was as confused as her. "I don't know," I finally blurted out. She stopped crying and looked up at me. "I don't know why I saved you." I continued. "I just... just couldn't let them hurt you."
"Why? You hardly know me... We've only met for... not even a two full days yet..." she asked, searching my eyes for the answer.
"I... I don't know. I... I just didn't want to see you hurt again." I said and looked away from her.
Her eyes opened wide and she became speechless. She looked down onto the ground and became silent.
"So..." I said, trying the break the long silence. "Um... You still want to stay at my house?" I awkwardly asked. I saw her nod, just a little bit and I smiled. "Okay, come on, we're getting drenched in water." We walked back to the house, she supporting me halfway there because my wound had opened again and the rain water was making it sting.
We reached my house and the door was opened. When we walked in, everyone was up. "What are you guys doing up?" I asked them.
"That's our line," Doojoon said. "What were YOU doing in the rain?" he said, pointing at me.
"Are you alright Kwanggie-hyung?" Dongwoon came up to support me to the couch. Min-ah was left alone standing awkwardly beside the couch.
"You're wet," Yoseob said.
"Nah, I'm super dry," I teased him which made him smile. "Go get some of my clothes upstairs hyung. I need to change," I said as Dongwoon laid me down.
"Alright, um..." he hesitantly said. Then he pointed at Min-ah and whispered, "What about her?"
Damn, another thing, I don't have girl clothes.
Min-ah spoke, noticing Yoseob pointing at her. "I'm fine, I'll get myself dry."
She walked to the bathroom and closed the door. "Hyung," Dongwoon whispered when Min-ah was out of sight. "Why were you guys in the rain?"
"Yeah, Kwanggie," Yoseob also asked. "What happened?"
"Um..." I didn't know how to reply. Should I tell them what me and Min-ah talked about?
I was relieved when Doojoon spoke up, "Let's give him some rest first."
"B-but..." Yoseob and Dongwoon protested.
"Hey guys, leave him alone," Hyungseung finally woke up from the couch next to mine and stood up. "Man, Kwanggie, your couch is not comfortable."
"Oh, sorry..." I said with a slight chuckle.
"Hyung," Hyungseung pleaded to Doojoon. "Can we go back? My neck is killing me!"
"Yeah, it'd be best right?" Yoseob and Dongwoon started to protest again but was cut off by Junhyung who walked into the livingroom from the kitchen.
"Yah! You guys are too noisy... Who wants to go home in my car?" he stated.
Hyungseung raised his hand and Junhyung nodded. "We'll see you guys later. Oh Kikwang?" Hyungseung said. I looked at him. "I'll tell manager about what happened. You just rest here alright?" I nodded and I said goodbye. Hyungseung and Junhyung exited the house and left.
"Are you guys leaving too?" I asked Doojoon. He nodded.
"It'd be best for you to rest. Can you go upstairs alone or do you need help?" he asked.
"I'll be fine. Thanks," I said as Doojoon half dragged, half carried Yoseob and Dongwoon out the door. I cracked a smile and see the door close. I sighed and started to make my way up the stairs. I took a step and pain shot through me. I leaned on the rail for support, breathing hard. I took another step, pain. Another step, pain. I made my painful way up the stairs without making any noise. I reached the top and sat down for a tiny rest. I made my way into my bedroom and realized I was still soaked. I walked up to my dresser to grab some clothes. I got my shirt off of me, the bandages soaked. Damn, I'm going to have to unwrap it. I pulled the bandage half way off of me then the pain hit me. I clutched onto the dresser for support, my knuckles turning dead white. I fell onto the ground and my hands supporting me up. I gasped as the bandage fell onto the floor, revealing the wound. It got opened again and it was badly bleeding again. Blood dripped onto my pants and started dripping onto the floor. I placed my hand over the wound, trying to get the blood to stop. I pushed on it, bringing more pain in my stomach and throughout my chest. I heaved a lungful of air and gasped as the pain shot through my whole body. My hand wavered and I collapsed onto the floor.
I didn't know what to do. I couldn't decide whether to stay or go. Besides, some stranger just saved my life from my worst nightmare, Seungho. But, if I stay, they might get even more injured, maybe even die... die... I-I can't let them die. Not after what happened to my parents. I can't let them die... because of me anymore. I-I have to...
My thoughts were cut off by a loud bang from upstairs. I got out from the bathroom and rushed upstairs. I hesitantly knocked on Kikwang's door. Knock.... Knock...
"Um... Ki-Kikwang?" I asked, waiting for a reply. When he didn't reply, I twisted the knob and pushed open the door. Kikwang was unconcious on the floor by the dresser. "Kikwang!" I rushed over to him and rolled him so he was laying on his back. His wound had reopened, probably when he was out in the rain, and he was still drenched in rainwater, although I was too but I am a whole different story.
I quickly tried to get him up, but he was quite too heavy for me. Then, his hand grabbed my wrist. "M-Min-ah..." he said, his eyes opening a little bit.
"Kikwang? C-can you stand up?" Of course he can't! Stupid! my mind told me.
Kikwang still tried to stand up, bracing himself on the floor. I helped him up and laid him down on the bed. His old and wet bandages was on the floor. I ran into his bathroom and came out with a wet rag. I looked at his stomach, now covered with blood. I wiped the blood away, trying to clear the wound. Kikwang was now unconcious again, which was lucky because I was going to put the ointmint on him now. After I applied the ointmint, I searched for new bandages.
I found some in his closet drawer and went to wrap him up. Only now did I actually look at him. His abs was fine toned and sexy. He had six packs and I was a babo for not realizing it at first. Damn, can someone be this hot? Wait, what?! Shut up brain! I yelled at myself. Kikwang groaned in pain and I rushed to his side.
He opened his eye a little to see me by his bedside. "Ki-Kikwang?" I asked, making sure he was concious.
I helped him sit up, which he groaned in agony again. I quickly bandaged his stomach nicely and laid him back down. His eyes closed again and his breathing slowed. He's asleep now, I thought to myself.
I stayed in his room for a little longer, staring at him while he slept. He started to snore silently. I chuckled to myself, seeing him so peaceful and relaxed. I brought my finger to trace his face, from his forehead down to his cheek and to his jawline. He was really handsome, actually very hot. I've never seen anyone this cute before. Although Yoseob is pretty cute and babo but... other than him... I chuckled to myself. Kikwang stirred in his sleep and I smiled. I haven't smiled a true smile ever since I started running. In fact, I have never trusted or stayed with one or more people longer than two days. Kikwang is making me feel weird.
My hand went back up to trace his face, around his eyes down to his jawline. Suddenly, his hand came up to grab mine. I jumped but his grip was firm. His eyes opened and I just realized how close my face was to his. His eyes stared into mine and I couldn't pull myself to look away.
With one pull, Kikwang's lips connected with mine and I opened my eyes wide in shock.
