A A A A

Characters

Kim Myungsoo (Infinite)

Description

There was smoke.

And fire.

And firemen trying to put out the fire.

And people crying.

And people screaming.

And people jumping to their deaths.

And then, amidst all this, there was a voice.

"It's always you, son, always you."

Foreword

A/N:

Hello.

Nine-Eleven is, very prominently, based off the September 11 attacks where the World Trade Center was hit by planes under terrorist influence. It is, in all retrospect, both a sensitive and noble topic, so I ask of you that when you read this, please take a moment to cherish and mourn.

This is first and foremost a tribute to the victims and their families of 9/11, and secondly an entry to TiaraL's When The Rain Ends. I hope all of you can take something away from this, no matter what it may be.

With love,

Jess

P.S: Also inspired by the movie (originally a book) Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, if you haven't watched it, go and watch it!

P.P.S: Amazing poster by the amazing Lily.

I've read the book 'We All Fall Down' which is based off the 9/11 attack as well.Personally , I like your version better because the language and the switching of point of views made it feel like I was watching a movie. The book was about a father and son trying to get out of the tower. This one had more of a regretful feeling because Myungsoo wasn't home while his dad was trying to reach him the whole time. Thank you for writing such a beautiful story.

I cried after reading this.

Still do when I typed in this comment. The hairs on my arms stood as if on cue with the words 'cold ice starts creeping into his heart'. This is...perfection.

ErisChaotica  on says about chapter 1:
This made me tear up. I was eight when 9/11 happened, but I still remember that day, and this story reminds me of my own experience. I remember being let out of school early (I lived in Delaware, which wasn't so far from New York or D.C.), and I remember seeing the news with my older sister. My parents weren't home yet...and everything was just so unreal.
