Description

The 7 Divines, each of them possess a trait that is unique to their personality. They live in the clouds above, watching over the morals below. Although, there is no knowledge of them, they remain hidden within the community, protecting the one that is dear. Yet, they must keep to a rule that is bond to their souls: Never Fall In Love With A Mortal.

Foreword

14 years ago, in the heavens above, the 7 Divines sat on their thrones, laid-back as the usual, peacefully chatting amongst themselves. Sunggyu — the King of them all — with his legs crossed and fingers impatiently tapping on the arm rest, was too busy contemplating about other matters, becoming lost in his own thoughts. That is, until something disrupted his tranquil state. His actions were halted. And a vision, a rather ghostly one, flashed through his mind. In a matter of minutes, the King jumped up to his feet, eyes narrowing down the long hallway before him at the gates of the Earth beneath them. The sudden change of posture startled the rest of the Divines as their voices died down. All the attention shifted to the King, the Leader.

Bravely, Howon, preferably known as Hoya, dared to speak out to Sunggyu, "What seems to be the problem, Sunggyu?"

The rest of the Divines exchanged glances at each other, whispering to the other beside them and nodding their heads. Sunggyu inhaled a breath, closing his eyes and rubbed his temples gently, calming down his nerves before he turned his head to the left to answer Hoya's cursiousity. "We need to leave. Now. Death is coming." They all gasped in shock from Sunggyu's words. It was a given that such a command from him was sharp and straight to the point, but this one, this one was different. It had a hint of worriness and fear, fear for the soon-to-be-victim of this so-called 'Death'."

Without any seconds delay, one-by-one, the King in front, the Divines were led from their thrones down the hallway to the gates.

Meanwhile, Kang Yoonji, her eldest brother, Yoonsuk, and their parents were happily laughing about their adventures after the trip to Lotte World.

"I'm now... Six years old!" Beamed Yoonji, holding up her hand to signify, in fingers, how old she was. The brother chuckled and held up another finger next to his younger sister's.

"Yoonji, you need another hand to show how old you are now," He said, pointing out her mistake for showing five fingers instead of six. "Silly girl."

The car stopped in front of a red light and their mother, who sat in the passenger seat, looked at her beautiful children behind with a bright smile. She had nothing to comment on, nor add anything to the conversation. However, she just awed at them. Praising herself and her husband as well, of her precious children. It brought happiness to her eyes when everything was so high in spirits. The father done the same during the brief stoplight as he peeked at them in the rearview mirror. His son was an exact copy of him where as his daughter was like his wife, elegant and simply marvelous.

He then diverted his attention to the street since he was the driver of the vehicle. The lights turned green and his foot switched to the accerlation.  As the car began to take left, there was an odd feeling within Yoonsuk's gut. The parents had no idea what was soon to hit them, Yoonsuk gave a yelp once he saw a speeding car heading straight at them, particularly aimed at the drivers' side. Instinctively, he shielded his sister, hugging her tightly and lovingly as his heart raced in fear.

Yoonji, before the impact was playing with her brother's hand, patting it, giving it high fives. But her play time ended when her brother quickly removed his seatbelt and went over her like a shield. Confused, she didn't know what to do and aside from her brother, something else caught her eye.

"Secure the perimeter of the car. Don't physically stop impact, make it realistic to the humans." Sunggyu commanded as the Divines and himself included, carried out the order.

Then, in 3 short minutes, everything was over.

Invisible to humanity, the Divines gathered in front of the totaled vehicles. Death had struck again, in the form of drunk driving.

Myungsoo, also known as L, pitied the disaster. 3 humans were pronounced dead at the scene. Blood, tires, metal, glass, and gravel were scattered around the intersection when the paramedics arrived. Sungjong buried his head in Sungyeol's chest, crying and grieving at the terrible lost thinking they were all dead. The latter comforted his friend by gently soothing his back. Dongwoo gritted his teeth in anger, hate, and helplessness when the scene was being cleaned up, removing the dead bodies from the crumpled metal that were called "cars."

Just when all hope was loss, a paramedic called, "We have 2 children here, alive!"

Everyone rushed over to other vehicle, using all sorts of machines to hack away at the protruding metal to reach the two unconscious kids, Yoonji and Yoonsuk.

The Divines' eyes lightened up as they watched the two children being put on stretchers for immediate medical attention. Sunggyu narrowed his eyes and raised an eyebrow in curiousity at the small girl, Yoonji, who was tossing and turning in her severe condition. Before he could check it out, he turned to his friends and spoke, "The three casualties will be arriving at the gates any minute now. I want all six of you to go and greet them. Woohyun, after the introductions, take them to the Superior Court for judgement. I'll be back shortly. Off you go." The Divines agreed and "walked" up the steps back to the Heavens.

As for Sunggyu, he walked over to the little girl. "Speak, my dear." He said calmly and in time, Yoonji started to talk, incoherent to the humans registered as mumbling, but much very clear to Sunggyu.

"M-mother and father.... Where are they?"

Sunggyu frowned, but he had to tell the bitter truth. "They're in my home right now. My friends are greeting them."

"When will they come back?"

"I don't know, but it won't be soon. However, in moments time, you'll see them again." It wasn't the first time Sunggyu had to explain something to a innocent human. And yet, it pained him to see the hurt on her face which was surprisingly not bruised at all, except for a thin scratch on her cheek.

"Okay." Yoonji whispered and slowly, but steadily, she opened her eyes. It was then when she was greeted by Sunggyu's face and she gave a small smile. Puzzled, he looked behind him to check if there was someone, but there was none. In Yoonji's eyes, there was his reflection. Yoonji outstretched her hand and touched Sunggyu's hand. The King stared at the contact. It shouldn't be physically possible for her to see him and yet even, touch him! The connection between the two ceased and Yoonji closed her eyes again, slipping unconscious once more as the paramedics placed her in the ambulance along with her brother.

After the whole incident, Sunggyu returned to the Heavens above, only to be greeted by his fellow Divines. He absent mindely brushed pass them and to his throne, exhausted. Woohyun also arrived in at the Circle — where all the thrones gathered around — and took note of the King's change of attitude once more. There was something troubling the Leader, but he pushed the thought to ask of it since he needed to inform the King of the news of his slight absence.

"Sunggyu, the three souls that were involved in the crash had been placed in the proper areas. One of the three, is Byun, his family name. He is the reason of the cause. Drunk driving on the streets of the evening and apparently Death was part of it as well. The Superiors had casted him off to the abyss where he will be working throughout time. Byun is also–"

"Enough, what about the other two souls?" Sunggyu demanded.

Woohyun stumbled upon his words when the King had cut him off short of the explanation. It was unsual of him, but he changed gears to the answer his question. "T-they're from the family Kang. Male and Female; also husband and wife. According to the two, they were driving home from this... Lotte World and began to take a left on the intersection until Byun's car collided with theirs. To add on, they have two children both of which survived the crash."

Sunggyu held up his palm to Woohyun, stopping him. Giving a nod of a job well done to him and the Divines, they were all dismissed for the day.

But there was one thing that still lingered in the back of his mind. How in earth was that girl able to see him? Whatever the case maybe for the earthling, there is more where that came from. Sunggyu can sense it.

Hey Guys~ TriRene here and I'm here with another fanfiction in mind starring... Infinite! Haha, I seriously have an obsession with them. Anywho, I hope the foreword is juicy and delicious because I certainly have a lot more coming! I'm estimating this will be a quick fanfiction. Nothing too long of a story, but something to read, that's all. My goal is to pull some heart strings (maybe?) and just create a story with some interesting plots in each chapter. Oh! And since it's summer time, I'll back on my game with updating. Terrible at the schedule with updating, so make sure you guys spam my comment box? Haha, nooo (although it'd be greatly appreciated).
