New Friend Found.
Sooyoung swore she will never leave the cubicle in the Female Washroom. Ever.
She buried her head deep between her knees, wanting so much to kill herself every time she thinks about the (extremely) outrageous action she had asked the Prince—oh god—the PRINCE to do.
The brunette lets out a soft cry and hits her forehead against her knees. This is the end of her, for sure; the Prince will never forgive her! What was she thinking? Why did she lost her keys? Why did she have to call him of all people? Why didn’t she make more effort in lifting herself up alone? Why?
A scream—more of a shriek—interrupted the brunette’s thoughts as she snapped back into reality. She knew who the voice belonged to—Yoona.
“We know you’re in there.”
“Come out, Soo~”
The rapid knocks at the door of the cubicle she had promised not to leave made her jumped in her seat at the toilet bowl. “Sooyoung open up!”
“Go away!” Sooyoung said out loud, wanting very much to evaporate into thin air.
“We won’t. Now open the door!”
Sooyoung sighed. She knew her friends were serious about not going away. Dragging herself slowly towards the short distance of a door, she unbolted it slowly and found herself being pulled out from the cubicle almost instantly.
“You didn’t tell us you knew the Prince!” Tiffany retorted, hurt flashed across her face.
“That’s because I didn’t know he was the Prince!” Sooyoung defended herself, sighing loudly as she recalled what had happened three weeks back.
“What really happened, Soo? Why did you run away from the cafeteria?” Yoona asked, curious.
“I was embarrassed!”
“Oh Goodness, if only you two had any idea what I had done.”
“So tell us!”
“I don’t want to!”
“Come on, Soo…”
“Just shoot me, please. I don’t want to live anymore.”
“What did you do, really?”
“I don’t ever want to talk about it again.” Sooyoung heaved another sigh as she smacked her palm against her forehead three times. Yoona and Tiffany could only stare, wondering what was going on.
“Have you heard? Apparently Choi Sooyoung knows the Prince!”
“I know! I mean, how could this happen?”
“Hey, do you think maybe they’re related? They are both Chois yknow,”
“Please. As if we won’t know a royalty studying in our school for the past two years.”
Murmurs and whispers rippled across the whole campus for the next few days. Sooyoung found it so hard to even go somewhere without having eyes on her. From a nobody, she became a somebody over a day, and she didn’t like it one bit. She rather no one bothered about her than have all eyes watching her every move like a hawk. It was really uncomfortable. Now, she had to think thrice before sinking her teeth into the food served in cafeteria. She had to take care of her image now that she was ‘part of royalty’ or so the rumor said.
“I’m not a royalty.”
“I only met the Prince three weeks back.”
“We’re not even close.”
“No, we’re not together.”
She had patiently answered all questions thrown to her when random students suddenly became her ‘best’ friend and asking her questions regarding her relationship with Prince Siwon. It was driving her to insanity!
Sooyoung pulled her hoodie closer to her face as she walked across the fountain in the campus, obscuring every bit of skin that would reveal she was Sooyoung. Her path was blocked by Kris, and she sighed.
“Kris, go away.”
“How did you even recognize me beyond all these?” Sooyoung pointed at her hoodie and sunglass.
“Please, I can recognize you even if you were wearing a potato sack.”
Both of them laughed softly. It has been a while since the brunette found laughter in her stomach. She realized how much she appreciated the presence of her best guy friend.
“You really don’t want to tell me what’s going on?”
“Kris.” The tone in Sooyoung’s voice made Kris raised both his hands up in surrender.
“Okay. Fine, I will not speak of the unspeakable.”
Their conversation was cut short when suddenly someone tapped Sooyoung’s shoulder. She turned around and found the drop dead gorgeous Prince looking at her, another small crowd forming behind him.
Quickly, both Sooyoung and Kris bowed their heads down in respect and only looked back up when Siwon asked them to.
“You don’t have to bow every time you meet me.” Siwon says, a little uncomfortable.
“Oh, we must. You are after all, a Prince.” Kris said in a somewhat sinister tone that Sooyoung eyed him.
Thank God for him Siwon did not notice anything wrong with his tone, and meekly smiled.
“Uhh, Sooyoung, can I talk to you for a second?”
Sooyoung could feel her tongue getting tied, her heart palpitating faster and faster as she nodded slowly. Kris only stared and said nothing.
Siwon pulled the brunette aside; gesturing at his two guards to make sure that no one was anywhere near them before saying what he wanted to say.
Sooyoung was shocked at what she heard, and she found her tongue in an even more complicated knot that she couldn’t unknot it to speak.
“I know what I did in the Cafeteria was wrong. I shouldn’t have approached you like that. Now everyone thinks you’re my long lost cousin or something, worst, some thinks you and I have something…uh…going on.” Siwon said and gave a slight cough of embarrassment.
The shikshin kept mum, still shocked.
“I just wanted to apologize, that’s all. I know you’ll probably not get anymore peace so…I guess it’s best if I were to apologize to you in advance.”
Sooyoung gulped and finally felt her voice coming back. “It’s…it’s okay.”
“So…we’re good?” Siwon asked, smiling.
“I’m pretty sure you want to execute me immediately.” She blurted out without thinking, only slapping her mouth after that in fright.
Siwon was alarmed. “What? No! Why should I?” He asked, shocked.
“I mean…I mean…” Beads of sweat now rolled down her cheeks. “You’re a Prince and I…I…stepped…” She felt a huge lump in her throat.
It took about a few minutes for the realization to hit Siwon, and he suddenly burst out into laughter. “Oh! You’re talking about the incident!”
Sooyoung blushed a deep red, bowing her head immediately upon hearing that. “I’m sorry, Your Majesty!”
“Hey, it’s okay. Really. I would care less about that.” The handsome young prince said, and Sooyoung gasped again.
“You won’t…punish me…?”
Siwon laughed again. “Of course not.”
“Oh goodness! Thank you so much for your kindness, Your Majesty.” Sooyoung could feel a whole lot of burden being lifted up then.
“You’re welcome, and…can you drop the formality? Just call me Siwon.”
It was Sooyoung’s turn to be alarmed. “What?”
“Just Siwon, okay?”
The Prince gave a final smile before walking away, turning around only to give a wink at the still perplexed young lady.
Kris rushed to Sooyoung when Siwon left, grabbing her by the shoulders. “What? What? What did he say? Did he want you to serve him in the Palace to pay for your recklessness? Is he going to threaten your family, is he going to kill you?”
Sooyoung was still in daze, unable to believe what she had just heard a while ago.
“YAH, Choi Sooyoung! Talk to me, I’m prepared for the worst, tell me what happened!” Kris asked, now shaking Sooyoung so hard that the brunette regained her composure and slapped his hands away.
“He’s not going to punish me.” Sooyoung said curtly.
“And he asked me to call him by his name.”
“Ohmygoodness, Kris. Now I know why so many girls are going crazy over him!”
Kris stared in disbelief at the girl in front of him. Did he just heard right, or was his ears failing on him?
“He’s so nice!” Sooyoung broke into a grin which frightened Kris.
What just happened??!
