Hwang Ha Neul’s peaceful live got thrown into chaos when she accidently found out the secret of famous Kim Jonghyun from SHINee. Well, actually that’s not quite true. The real chaos started when her family needed to move due to her father’s transfer to another workplace. Why, you ask? Well, because attending another university was absolutely out of the question. But that meant she had to find a place to stay at. And since she couldn’t find an affordable room it seemed to her that the only possible solution was…

...to persuade, or, if necessary, blackmail, a certain someone who surely had enough space in his luxurious apartment to let her stay with him!

The reasons this threw her live into chaos?
Firstly, because Jonghyun was a celebrity. And living with a celebrity automatically equaled chaos. Even more so, if your name is Hwang Ha Neul.
Secondly, because there was more to Kim Jonghyun than just the cocky idol that smiled all day long.
And thirdly, because Ha Neul and Jonghyun's fate was entwined in more ways than just by those three coincidental encounters.

Prologue

Dear Diary,

Do you think this thing called fate exists?

Up until now I didn’t really believe in it, but starting today I think I would like to.

Why?

Because today I’ve left something to fate and I would like for it to come true.

As you know, today is Sae Ryung unni’s 18^th birthday and I helped her boyfriend preparing Café Maman for her birthday party. He’s really nice; I like him a lot. I’m glad unni found someone like him. He even gave me some money as a thank you for helping him even though I did it voluntarily to begin with. I already bought new books from ahjussi’s store opposite of Café Maman with it!

Anyway, on my way back home I ran into classmate Dongho and his little ‘gang’. They did the same thing as always but because of the books I had just bought I couldn’t run away this time. I wouldn’t have been fast enough. So I just stood there, put on my indifferent mask, and hoped that they would soon lose interest.

But suddenly, they stopped throwing things and when I turned around – as I had noticed that they were all staring at something behind me – I was facing a boy of about the same age as me.

I heard the girls whispering to each other how handsome the boy looked and that the uniform he was wearing was the one from that elite school that only cheabol’s sons and daughters attended.

The boy didn’t even spare them a single glance though, grabbed my hand, and dragged surprised me away. Dongho tried to stop him but the boy easily blocked him with just one hand and whispered something into Dongho’s ear that made him pale in fear. Heh!

To thank him for saving me I then treated the boy to ice cream and somehow I ended up telling him about me missing Hae. I don’t know why I did that either… Maybe because he’s only a stranger who I’ll probably never see again?

And apparently he, too, has lost someone precious to him just recently.

Funny, isn’t it? If he hadn’t told me, I would have never known… and nothing would have changed… And for him as well… Even though it feels like the end of the world for us, however, actually the world keeps turning despite us loosing someone precious…

Well, and somehow we then promised to move on… He vowed to pursue his dream of becoming a singer while I said that I would become the top student of Seoul University. To a complete stranger, I know… But hey, he is my saviour, isn’t he?

Now, you’re going to ask what this all has to do with fate, right?

Well, when we finally decided to part ways, I asked him whether we really are never going to meet each other again.

And he suggested that we leave it to fate. We both know where we might find the other; me as the future top student of Seoul University and him among the future celebrities…

So, do you think fate exists? Do you think there is a chance that I’ll get to meet him again? What will he look like in ten, twenty, thirty years? And will he recognise me? Will I recognise him?

But I guess you don’t know either, huh… I’ll just have to wait and see…

Seriously, I wish there was some mathematical formula for this…!

Hey everyone! This is my first fanfic so please be patient with me. ^^ I’m not a hard core fan of SHINee (yet, but I'm on the best way of getting there!! <3) so the personalities probably don’t match >< I just made them fit my story...

I have now started a second ff starring Taemin. For those who are interested: We Meet on AFF...

To those few who’ve already started reading this story: I felt that I needed to add another reason for the two main characters to meet so I decided to rewrite the story >< but the plot essentially stays the same. So, sorry! >< But I hope this will make the story more interesting… :)

Concerning the story:
Any similarities to other stories are purely coincidental. But if you still feel offended write me and I’ll try to work something out. So, on the other hand: don’t copy my story either, please! And also don’t put it on other sites without my consent! Thanks!
