It all started in a Bus

 

 

 

Nobody can make you smile for no apparent reason except for the person...

...who's on your mind right now.

A cup of coffee on the side and a pack of folders in front. Yoong can only sighed what’s before him. Being a president, he always had his responsibility in school that should be take care of.

 

Leaning on his leather chair, another heavy breath escape from his mouth. But suddenly, he unconsciously smiled to remember what happened earlier in his last subject.

 

Flashback…

 

“Im Yoong, how ‘bout you?”

 

Seohyun look at him with stern look. It’s unpleasant, telling him to back away or you’re dead in your next word.

 

Retracting back his hand, he steps back—with hands on his side. “I just… wanted to know your name.” he mutters, feeling a bit stabbing his self with that glare at the moment. For the first time, he was scared to someone he doesn’t even know the name, only her surname.

 

He saw the country girl look down and… “Seo JooHyun.” Mutters her name before walking pass to him, loud enough for him to hear those words from the country girl.

 

Seo Joohyun.

 

Nice name. Yoong smiled, before he also suited his self next to the country girl.

“Since everybody has their own partners now, before we start off…  I have my requirement book here.” The professor stated, showing a thick book in front of the class.

 

“Each partner should buy this book for the entire semester. One book for every partner. Where will you buy this? it’s for you guys to search. Freshmens are old enough to find this book in their own, right?… well except for Mr. Im who is already a student in this University.” The professor added, letting the students to see clearly the book as he give it to the student in front, before he sat back on his desk. Waiting for the students to have look.

“So… uh… can we start over again? hmm… you know… actually I’m not like—“

 

“When will we search for the book?”

 

Yoong instantly shivers to hear such cold words from the latter. Didn’t even finish his sentence. He raise a brow and was about to answer when another cold words was heard from the country girl.

 

“Don’t worry I have enough money to contribute.” Seohyun nonchalantly stated, while busy writing down some notes.

 

Yoong scoffed in disbelief. He wasn’t even planning to own the book. “This girl is really weird.” He mutters.

 

“What?” Seohyun put her pen down, fixing her stare to the doe-eyed guy just beside her.

 

“Uhmm… I said… “ Yoong got tongue tied all of a sudden. Those round brown orbs were somehow dazing him even for it’s a dead glare. He had a clear vision, on how beautiful were those eyes, with those eyelashes and those eyebrows, he felt a bit fuzzy.

 He gulps in and blink twice, wanted to snap his own from reality. “I said… yo-yo… you… c-can’t… I m-mean… “

 

Seohyun raise a brow, strange to the doe-eyed guy’s expressions. She’s sure the guy has some trouble on answering her. “Never mind.” she look away and went back to her notes, much to the doe-eyed guy's disappointment.

 

Yoong scoffed, can’t believe that he just got tongue tied all of sudden. His mind flashes those eyes again as he bit his lower lip.

 

Taking a glance to the girl beside, he widened his eyes when the latter took a glance on him too. They both look away as soon as they caught each other’s stares.

 

“The heck is happening to me.” Yoong mutters, taking another secret glance. 

 

 

Yoong shook his head and decided to write down notes too.

When the book had already on their place…

 

“Oh th-“

 

Yoong passed the book to his 'partner' when the latter had hold his hand accidentally, it gives him knowledge how soft were the country girl’s hands despite for it’s only a second.

 

“Aish!” ruffling his hair, he bit his lower lip and started to fanned his self using his hand.

 

“Hmm? What’s going on?” Seohyun look at him weirdly.

 

“Uh, nothing.” Yoong quickly look down to avoid the latter’s gazes. The hell is happening to me? It’s just a touch. Come on.

“Okay, so I’m going to search for the book first in the net. Then let’s decide to who’s going to buy it. Of course, we have to contribute.” Seohyun suggested, looking to the doe-eyed guy who's been looking down.

 

Yeah I know that. Yoong thought, rolling his eyes, still can’t look up to face the country girl.

 

“YAH!” suddenly Seohyun yelled to make the doe-eyed guy face her, but it just earns his professor and the student’s attention. While Yoong in an instant looked up and clutch on his chest.

 

Fail.

 

Seohyun quickly apologize to the students and to his professor by saying… “I’m sorry… I’m sorry… ” She was completely embarrassed and the reason is the doe-eyed guy as he glared and clenches towards the person beside.

 

“I hate you.” She said, loud enough for the doe-eyed guy to hear those words.

 

End of flashback…

 

 

 

I hate you

 

Yoong chuckle to his self to remember the word again, stretching his arms, he escape a yawn and check his time.

 

“It’s 6pm already? Ugh.” He groans to realize that he missed to see his best friend. “Probably, he’s with Noona again.” he mumbles and decided to organize his things back to his bag pack and left his little space in the University.

 

In the hallway, he came across few students only with some faculties too. The smiles on his face never fade until it got even better when he came across Jessica in front of the entrance gate with her car.

 

“Noona!”

 

“Oh Hey Yoong… “ came Jessica’s sweet response as they give each other a bear hug.

 

“You’re going home already?” asked the doe-eyed guy, looking to the car behind.

 

“Yup… and I’m waiting for you. I just wanted to ask something in the way?”

 

Yoong’s mood suddenly drops; he can’t take a ride with Jessica knowing that the latter will end up telling him a lot of stories about what happened to her day. He’s not complaining but he always find it annoying. Besides, he got a lot of assignments to do. His first day as a nursing students is unexpectedly more difficult than his first degree course.

 

“I can’t Noona.” He sadly informed. “I have lots of assignments today. Probably, I’ll end up sleeping late again.” he quickly disappointedly reasoned, hoping that the latter will be understanding.

 

Jessica pouted in disapproval. He heaved a sighed and smiled warmly to her friend. “It’s okay… I know nursing can be hard. Let’s just talk some time.”

 

Yoong brightens and quickly bowed. “I promise to have some time, okay? I’ll leave first.”

 

Jessica can only stared Yoong’s back in a distant when the latter had started to walk towards the bus stop. Still doesn't know why the doe-eyed guy prefers to ride a bus and train knowing his status in life.

6:15pm.

 

Seohyun’s wrist watch reads. “Where’s oppa?” she asked herself, looking back and forth in the side street. Her unnie told her about her older brother coming to fetch her since she still can’t go home with herself. Fifteen minutes had passed already and yet, her older brother hasn’t arrived. 

 

“otoke? How am I suppose to leave this place?” she whined, nearly cried. The place is quite already and the air is becoming colder to her body, keeping herself to shivers. “I should’ve brought my jacket.” She mutters, stomping her feet.

 

*ring~ ring~ ring~

 

Hearing her phone ringing, she rummage on her shoulder bag and quickly answer the phone call.

 

"What? Yah! Oppa, you promise... how can I go home without you?" Seohyun cried. How can she go home now? With her oppa not fetching him? Well she asked somebody? Or will she disturb her sister?

 

"Araso... don't worry I’ll ask somebody... thank you. Yeah... i have a great first day. Bye... love you." she ended the call with a sighed. "How can I ask somebody in this hour?" she groaned, looking for someone to ask.

 

 She turned to her back only to be met by the same guy again. The guy is standing just nearby, already dozing off.

 

“Aish! Why on earth I always came across with this guy?” she gritted his teeth, hissing to see the guy once more. For her entire first day in the University, she and the doe-eyed guy had came across with each other for 5 times. That means, half of her schedule, she has the same class with the guy. To her disappointment.

 

“Oh.” the doe-eyed guy suddenly jump on her feet when he turned on his left. “Omo… It’s you again.” he brightly smiled.

 

“Are we really destined?” He asked nonchalantly. Having been noticing to always see the girl with his subjects, she can totally say that God is giving him a punishment for being so rude with the girl earlier.

 

Instead of answering, Seohyun gritted her teeth and glared to the guy before she look away and face the road before them.

 

“You know what, I think God is really giving me a punishment.” He joked.

 

No answer.

 

Yoong slowly and silently move closer to the country girl only to hear another harsh words.

 

“You’re rude… full of yourself and… to add on that… you are insane.” Seohyun surprisingly blurted again. If it wasn't for her anger, she can't spilled them normally. It just came out through her mouth unconciously.

 

Yoong was taken aback. For the first time in his life, someone had give their bad impression to him. He is use to be praise with his good character in school but with the girl, it was all different. Those harsh words somehow give him an idea how he is to be exact when they first met. He’s totally forgetting who he is in reality. 

 

All of a sudden, he felt bad for his self. He should’ve address the girl nicely on their first meeting. But what has done had done.

 

“honestly, you’re wrong.” He said seriously.

 

"Who knows you are liar too?" Seohyun turned her head to face the doe-eyd guy, but he was met by a serious look.

 

“I’ll prove to you… in this entire semester.” He smiled warmly, challenging his own self. 

 

 

What does he meant by that? Seohyun thought.

They stared silently in each other’s eyes for a while until the bus stop, snapping them both to reality. 

 

-

 

It’s the doe-eyed guy who quickly dash in to the bus leaving the country girl in the street.

 

“Omo, what the… why she didn't follow?” Yoong asked his self, confused that the latter hasn’t move any single inch yet.

 

Noticing that it will rain sometime soon, Yoong quickly called out for the girl. “YAH! AREN’T YOU COMING?”

 

As if it’s a cue for the country girl to snap from reality. She surprisingly turned her head to the source of the voice and immediately runs after the bus. Realizing that the doe-eyed guy will be his lead on her way to the train.

 

“Wait! Ahjussi, stop the bus!”

 

Hearing the call, Yoong also called for the ahjussi but the driver didn’t stops because it’s non-stopping zone.

 

Yoong panicked and quickly, he opened the door abruptly to held out his hand for the country girl. “Take my hand! The bus won’t stop.”

 

“WHAT?”

 

“JUST TAKE MY HAND!” He demanded.

 

Seohyun runs as fast as she can stretches her hand to hold the latter’s hand. “I-I can’t… the bus... it's fast.” She complained, having a hard time to catch up.

 

“No.” Yoong adjusted his body and stretches more his long hand. “Come on, you can reach It.” he hissed.

 

Seohyun didn’t think twice as her speed up on his pace and stretches more her hand. Their hand can be nearly touch now.

 

“One more.” Yoong forward more. His grip on the bus is hurting him already but it didn’t stop him to stretch more his hand to the country girl. Determined to grab the hand of the country girl.

 

With another strength from his upper body, Yoong have successfully reach for the country girl’s hand and quickly pulled him up.

Seohyun was thrown to the doe-eyed guy’s body as soon as she was pulled up. The doe-eyed guy’s body hit the door, giving it a thud on his back.

 

“Argh!” Yoong closes his eyes tightly. But what he is feeling in his back was replaced by a loud beating of his heart when she felt the country girl’s body press on him.

 

Slowly, he opens his eyes and was met by other close eyes.

 

That moment on, Yoong can no longer breathe. Their face is inches apart that if he’s going to move, she’ll end up kissing the girl.

 

He become fuzzier when Seohyun had opens her eyes to meet his.

Seohyun stayed froze. Somehow remind by the first time to see those eyes closely. Who would’ve thought that those eyes were belonging to a rude guy? 

 

-

 

“Hey, are you guys not sitting?” one of the passengers asked, snapping them both to reality as they quickly look away from each other.

 

“I’m sorry.” They apologize in unison and composes their selves before fully entered the bus.

 

Seohyun was about to paid for her fare when Yoong had stopped him to do so. “I’ll take this.”

 

Seohyun scoffs. He’s indeed rich. But, is rich taking bus these days? she thought innocently.

 

“No, I have enough money.” She retracted back her hand but the stubborn young man had stopped him again.

 

“Save that for the book.” Yoong nonchalantly said again and immediately put the fare along with his.

 

Seohyun felt insulted, she wanted to argue but she knows it will take time, so she decided to walk out and suited herself in one of the seats. She faces palmed herself and began mumbling something. Giving herself a piece of advised to calm her nerves and don’t run after with the bus anymore.

 

-

 

“Fine, let’s start it over… since we’ll be seeing each other a lot. I’m Yoong… Im Yoong to be exact. Basically, nursing is my 2^nd degree course. I’m an enginnering student back then and... alright, I’m a council president, that’s why—“

 

“You’re popular.” Seohyun cut off, hearing from the students she always passed. For her entire first day in the University, she had encountered a lot of students, talking about how she was being posses to decline with Yoong’s request about the duet. But some were good too, telling her about how she challenges Yoong’s character.

 

“Right.” Yoong can only rolled his eyes.

 

With a heavy breath, Seohyun open her mouth to speak what’s on her mind. “I don’t want to talk to someone who doesn’t have common sense. Can’t you see it? I hate you. I hate you... i don't like you... You understand that right? You’re genius, so—“

 

“Then why did you run after the bus?”

 

Seohyun was caught off guard. She's felt silent all of a sudden.

 

"There are a lot of bus in this city to be hold."

 

Right, it's indeed true. But If she's going to answer, she'll be embarrass for sure and the doe-eyed guy would probably be laughing with her ignorant act. She hated to see it.

 

"Will you look at me? If i'm talking?" Yoon suggested softly.

 

“Not a chance.” Seohyun firmly said, looking out over the window. Her breathing is heavy and she’s clenching. She wanted to explode but where? The guy beside is giving her more headaches. 

 

with a heaved sighed, Yoong can't take it anymore as he spoke again. “I don’t want also to talk to someone who doesn’t even know the word ‘THANK YOU and RESPECT’”.  'thank you' for giving her a hand earlier and 'respect' for not looking at him. Yoong wants the country girl to know that he wasn't really as what she thinks. He wanted to scream that fact in front of the girl, but he knows it will just add her bad impression.

 

He just realize, since they'll be seeing each other a lot, there shoulde ber partnership between them.

 

-

 

Seohyun’s heart skips when she heard it right in the doe-eyed guy’s mouth. It was clear and understanding. She was left stunned.

 

He’s genius.. But… his character. I can’t take it.

 

-

 

 

This girl, I’m going to have hard time with her. I shouldn’t have give her a bad impression.

 

-

 

 

After those harsh words coming from each other. All through their journey to the train station was filled with silence. No one wanted to said something.

 

Occasionally, Yoong would always took a glance but he’ll end up being captured. Somehow, feeling guilty what he just blurted. He wanted to apologize but the latter is not even paying attention so he end up taking glances and got tongue tied.

 

While Yoong is taking glances, Seohyun can’t help but to feel uncomfortable with those actions. It’s her first time for being stared by someone she really doesn’t know. 

 

-

 

After an hour or so, the bus stop right when Yoong have called. The young man quickly made a way for the girl in his side, telling the latter to go on first.

 

Seohyun didn’t care and just followed what the rude guy have requested. They soon arrive in the train station without any words from each other. Suiting across with each other while avoiding each other’s gazes.

Arriving at home, Yoong was quickly greeted by his mom with his dog.

 

“You look tired, something happened that umma should know?” asked her umma along with a warm smile.

 

“Hmm… let’s just say… I have an interesting day. I guess… I’ll share it with you if i have time. Hmm?” Yoong raise a brow to his mom hinting for a good day he had.

 

“Alright, go shower now.” His mom patted his cheeks before letting go from the hug.

 

Yoong smiled to her mom before going up stairs.

 

 In his room, you can see how rich he is with how luxurious it is. The things inside were all modern with it's plasma tv, glass coffee table and it's all painted with white and blue. And to have a classic look, it has a black piano and a mini drum on the side, explains how musically talented he is. Behind the musical instrument is a room called ‘Music & Lyrics’.

 

He walk pass the musical instruments to enter the room. There, he was greeted by a large room, inside were more instruments use for orchestra.

 

But he’s not there to play one of the instruments, he’s there just to sat one of the benches to write an interesting event that happens to him. Opening his laptop from his bag, he quickly visited his own blog to write down what's on his mind at the moment.

A smile crept into his lips before he type into his blog…

Just early in the morning... i have encountered this country girl. 

 

I knew that she was following me until i saw her again in the bus...

 

...she's tall, has long hair and has a tempting cheeks to pinch...

 

at first, i wanted to asked her why she's following... but when I feel how she's been looking my schedule,

 

i thought she's lost or something, so i just decided to ignore until she got my attention again when...

 

... she accidentally drops her phone and like an instinct...

 

I bend over just to find myself holding her hands and we shared gazes...

 

...Those eyes… those hands when I first held them…

 

I don’t know… but I felt like... >.< aigoo... 

 

...It's really... disturbing, up until now...

...As much as i wanted to give her a good impression...

 

I suddenly felt challenging myself and I give her a bad impression instead...

 

.... and it end up hurting me too. But despite that...

 

 

...I wanna know her more.
