I feel empty when you're not around me.

3 eggs and a bread.

 

These are the food that greets the doe-eyed guy as soon as he woke up early in the morning. In his side is his mother wearing a suspicious stare towards him.

 

Why?

 

The reason is because, this certain son of her went home so hyper early in the morning. She asked, but all she could hear from the latter were… “Life is just too amazing”. Weird, but it’s quite good to look. Because, for the first time, her son isn’t eating at the moment with a book in his side, something is really going on with her son that she could sense… LOVE.

 

“So… tell me about last night? And where did you go?” asked her, trying to read those expressions of her son.

 

Instead of answering, her son just gives her a smile while currently enjoying his breakfast.

 

“Are you by chance… in love? Hmm?” she gradually asked directly.

 

After having his last gulp of water, the doe-eyed guy just simply nods and left her.

 

“I knew it.” she mutters, following her son to her bedroom. “And who’s the lucky girl? is this… the girl from—“

 

She was about to say the name when her son embraces her. “Yup… is it okay for you?”

 

“Of course. She’s a nice girl Yoong… but I’m quite okay with Jessica too.” she pouted. Having been so close with the blonde haired girl, she can still say that Jessica is a best girl for her son.

 

The doe-eyed guy let go from the hug and pinches his mother’s nose, before coming up with a respond. “You know I and Jessica Noona were just friends Umma. I just consider her as my sister, nothing on that.” He said as he started to rummage through his closet.

 

“Fine, anyway, I called Tiffany earlier.”

 

“Then?”

 

“She’s coming for a dinner… with her special friend?”

 

Yoong instantly stop from what he’s been doing and look at his mom surprised. “Special someone? I bet she’s Joohyun’s sister.”

 

“Joohyun’s sister? So… that just means… “

 

“If ever… I and Hyunnie… will you know, someday. We’ll be a family.” Yoong chuckles with his own words. How can it feel so fresh to think that someday? He and the younger girl can still end up together, thinking of her sister and his sister were actually an item. Such a small world to think, is it.

 

“I’m so proud of your confident son.” Mrs. Im gradually put her hands up, giving up to her son’s fullness. She pats her son’s shoulder before adding some words. “Just know your limit son. I know your genius. But, you also need this… “ she pointed the latter’s heart in his chest, before moving to his head. “ Not only this… Okay?”

 

Yoong nods brightly and made a salute to his mother. “Yes Mom.”

 

“Fine, fine…  go on now. I know you have a lot to do.” Mrs. Im chuckles before finally leaving her son’s bedroom.

 

Upon leaving him, the doe-eyed guy put his hands in his waist and smirked to the clothes before him. Later, he’ll  meet with Nicole for a movie, but something isn’t right in his mind; stalking his best friend’s date with the younger girl.

 

“What am I doing?” He chuckles.

 

He was about to brought his sweater to the bed when his phone rang. “Hey Cole, ready?” he gradually asked the latter.

 

[I am Oppa. I’m here at the bus stop already.]

 

“Nice, Okay… I’m on my way.” He quickly ended the call and grabs his sweater to wear before grabbing his house keys and went outside in a dash. But before he could entirely go outside, he never forget to give his mom a kiss in her cheek and exits the house entirely.

Seohyun sat comfortably in the front seat of the tan guy’s car, wearing a white cardigan sleeves along with a over knee, gray whole dress—all courtesy of Kwon Yul. Not only that, she’s wearing a light make-up by Tiffany Hwang as her make-up artist.

 

Flashback…

 

“Unnie… I told you. It’s really okay if i don't have any make-up on!!!” She whined like a kid when Tiffany happened to be in their house at early in the morning. After knowing that she will have a date with Kwon Yul, the latter didn’t hesitate and volunteer to be a make-up artist. Although Tiffany is rooting for his own brother, she gradually wants to do this for a peace offering.

 

“Maknae, shut up. Fany is a good make-up artist.”

 

“But unnie… this is just… a movie hang out with sunbae, nothing more.”

 

“We know. But he’s a Kwon, Hyunnie. You can’t just go out with him without any make-up on. And to think, he’s your boyfriend.” Fany added.

 

“Well, I would like to see you pretty sometimes Maknae, can you just do this for us?” Taeyeon complained.

 

“Argh! I hate you Unnies. We’re not really dating.” Seohyun crosses her arms and pouted, while being treat by her make-up artist.

 

“Ugh, and I hate you too for denying it Seohyun-ah.”

 

“Yah! Fany, I thought you are rooting for your own brother?” Taeyeon instantly smack her girlfriend’s arm for coming up with those words.

 

“But Yul is such a good guy too Taengoo-ah~. He’s such a—“

 

“Unnies!!!”

 

Taeyeon and Fany quickly look at the younger girl hearing her scream. “What?” they said in unison.

 

“Nothing.” Seohyun shamelessly look down and smile from ear to ear.

 

End of flashback…

Pulling over the car in a parking lot, Yul quickly step out from the car and kindly opens the door for the younger girl. “This is our last day.” Yul said, looking sweetly to his one week girlfriend.

 

“Yeah… and I’m happy Sunbae.” Seohyun replied with a smile as well.

 

“I’m more than happy.” Yul retorted, poking the latter’s nose.

 

Seohyun just brightly smiled and poke back his one week boyfriend to his nose. “Let’s go, sunbae?” she literally sneak her arms to the tan guy’s arms and drags him inside the mall.

 

“Wow! I didn’t know that my girlfriend knows this kind of affection, huh?” Yul surprisingly asked, staring in disbelief to the younger girl.

 

“Are couples doing this?” 

 

“Y-Yeah… “ Yul nods in agreement.

 

“Just let me sunbae. I want to repay you for taking care of me yesterday.” Seohyun said sincerely as she smiled to the tan guy. After she had recover from flu, she couldn’t think any reason of hurting this kind hearted guy anymore. Today, it’ll be their last, and she wants to give him a rather meaningful day.

 

“That’s nothing. I would always do that if you need me, even for we aren’t a couple anymore.” Yul stated, drags the younger girl to a nearby game station.

 

“Oh? Aren’t we watching a move Sunbae?” asked the oblivious country girl.

 

“Well, as the last day… I want to win for you. Will you give me this moment?” Yul sweetly offered his hand. 

 

Seohyun blushes and heartedly nods towards the tan guy.

 

“Come on in.” they entered the game station and started to play the basketball game first.

 

Yul is as sporty as he almost got all his shot within 30 seconds. He won and gives a big bear to the younger girl. After the basketball game, they proceed to the shooting game and just one try, Yul won and handed his one week girlfriend a keroro stuff toy. For the last game, they do the extreme dance. Though they didn’t get it correctly, they had much fun as they ended it with a big hug.

Walking hand in hand, the two can’t longer comprehend the happiness they’re experiencing at the moment. All they could think is to enjoy the rest of the day as a couple.

 

For the last thing to do, they made their way inside the movie theater with 3d glasses in their hands, not forgetting to buy some pop-corns as well and a cola they could share on

.

But unknown to them, two youngsters were actually been following them until they entered the movie theater. Nicole who’s been complaining with her partner for always following them can only comply with the doe-eyed guy’s suggestions.

 

Following carefully to the couple, they sat side by side just 2 seats behind from them.

 

“Nicole, can you buy me a pop-corn too? I’m quite hungry now. Please?” Yoong pleaded with all his might, showing even his puppy face to the younger girl. Nicole could only blush at her sight and stood to buy them pop-corns.

 

After seeing his partner leaving him, Yoong quickly open his phone and made a call to his best friend.

 

“Hey Hyung, what are you doing?” He quickly asked, in such a low voice.

 

[Uh… where are you? Why is your voice like that?]

 

“Oh… I’m having a cold that’s why.” He lied, still can't find any guts to unluck his stare to his best friend's back.

 

[Oh? really? then why did you call?]

 

“Yah! I was asking you—“

 

[Yo!  bro! I’m with Hyunnie… we're having our movie date] the tan guy cheekily said, and Yoong could see it clearly in his seat how he’s best friend is actually enjoying it. He can clearly sense it, the latter wants him to get jealous.

 

[Sunbae? Isn’t that Yoong?]

 

Yoong clenches hearing the younger girl’s voice, before he replied. “Oh, that’s so nice Hyung. How come I don’t know? We have practice later right?”

 

[Yup we do. I am not forgetting it. It’s still early though. Our practice is 5pm. Don’t worry; we’ll be in time there]

 

“That’s so great then.” Yoong sarcastically said and tried harder to control his self. 

 

[Yoong? Are you still there?]

 

“Uh… yeah… I’m just… quite distracted with dingx here. This—“

 

[Sunbae, here.] Yoong saw the younger girl passes 3d glasses when the movie had already started.

 

[I’m sorry Yoong, the movie here just started. I’ll call back later after this. Bye]

 

Yoong gritted his teeth upon hearing the end call and just can’t do anything but to sat back comfortably to his seat and enjoy the movie for the meantime.

 

“Here Oppa.” Nicole just arrived with two pop-corns in her hands and handed the other one to her partner. Yoong quickly accepted it and bitterly eats the pop-corn while locking his gazes to the two friends of him.

 

He regrets why he decided to stalk these two.

/thud.

 

“Argh!”

 

Jessica clutch into her butt just when she slips and fell in her butt in a hard floor. It’s her 2^nd time to fell on that very stage for the upcoming model search of the University. She heaved a breath and literally stops the music that is currently playing in the background. “I need a break.” She said, under her breath.

 

Her sweats were all over her foreheads, as she continuously wipes it off through her towel. Getting up, she proceeds to take her seat and almost immediately, leaned her back comfortably to her seat.

 

“Jess what’s happening to you?” asked her coach. “If you’ll continue like this, well, you know what will happen.” She can clearly heard the disappointments from her coach, keeping her annoyed.

 

“I know.” She mutters nonchalantly as she stared back to her coach. “Just give me a break first.” she hissed.

 

Her coach can only nods in defeat, leaving her in her seat.

 

Jessica reaches for the bottle of water on the side and quickly gulp all its content in one try.  “What’s happening to me?” asking herself never her thing, but, her mind isn’t in focus the moment she steps in to the stage. It was as if her mind was occupied with only one person. “I can’t believe this.” she added in disbelief to herself.

 

She was about to take another bottle of water in the side when someone had stop her. She quickly looked up, only to find her friend 'Tiffany' stopping her.

 

“What are you doing here?” asked Jessica, as the latter sat in her side.

 

“Just happened to pass this studio… and I saw you alone. Any problem Jess?” Tiffany asked, somehow, sensing the meaning of those eyes from her friend.

 

“Nothing. Just someone is occupying my mind for the past two days.” She heaved a sigh and looked up to the stage rehearsal. “I don’t know what’s happening to me. As if… I was… literally, this is the first time.” she exclaimed, doesn't know how to explain the feelings inside her.

 

“Oh? Mind sharing it, then?” Fany’s instincts seem to be so true as she quickly faces fully her friend.

 

“There’s this someone that has nothing to do but to give me non-sense words… and… I can’t even understand why, but I’ve been too… affected. This is like, the first time I noticed someone like him.” Jessica started. “Although sometimes it’s… hurting me. I can’t find any guts to really… get angry with him. Since, I know… we’re just friends... and… he’s… currently dating.” she shared withe another heavy sigh.

 

Fany sat back comfortably to her seat and looked up to the stage rehearsal as well. “Jess… aren’t you jealous?”

 

Jessica left out a hearted chuckle before coming up with a respond. “I don’t think so… but… I guess I am?”

 

“You can say so. You experience it with Yoong, too, right?” Fany raises her shoulders, emphasizing her words.

 

“Yeah I did. But this is really… different from him. I just really realized it. The way he cared for me from those times, I have been so down. From those times… when I needed company, he was there… and now that I—”

 

“You feel emptiness?”

 

The blonde haired girl shut her mouth suddenly. Asking herself…

 

Did she really feel like that? Maybe, since she’s been missing that cheeky smile, those kind actions and those cheering messages from that someone. Or maybe because, she wasn’t aware of that someone’s effort, back then?

 

“Empty handed.”

 

“That’s the nicest thing I’ve ever heard from you. You know what I thought? Yoong isn’t as true love for you.” Fany stated, somehow being a talkative is her strength.

 

Jessica stared in surprised to her friend. Those words were serious and it hits her.

 

Does she truly feel it? that her dongseng isn’t as true love as she think?  “What do you mean?” she asked, obliviously.

 

With a slight smile, Fany proceeds… “You always give me reason why you and Yoong should be together, why you and Yoong should end up with each other and... why you should feel it for him. Doesn’t that feel incorporate? It’s like giving you assurance for yourself to be happy with somebody else that you aren’t deal with. That you aren’t incapable to be end up, knowing… the truth… ahead of it. Are you just blind of it? You know, being so high with your standards.” she speech.

 

“Fany, you’re funny.” Jessica laughs.

 

“I am? Well, to tell you… I wasn’t sure if I am observing it correctly, but that’s what I can see. Your standard Jess, is no joke." Fany chuckles heartedly to her friend. Knowing her friend's standard with guys, she can't tell if the latter is actually loving it.

 

“Well, I do love Yoong… but now that I heard it from you. Isn’t it ironic? I could clearly feel it, that Yoong was a true love.” Jessica stated seriously. 

 

“But not the destined one.” Fany added.

 

Jessica chuckles once again, hearing the word ‘destiny’. A word that she never cared about. She just want to go with the flow, not caring who’s actually giving her much time, when those times she had with that someone in her mind at the moment.

 

“So you are saying that, there’s better than Yoong?” She asked gradually, looking to Fany with a grin. 

 

“Well, I bet? Since you are currently feeling another waves of distraction. Tell me, is that Yul?” Fany teases. She literally nudges her friend on the side.

 

Jessica thought for a moment, before she moves her head up and down slowly.

 

 

“I knew it!!!” Fany exclaimed.

Yul was slowly getting bored by the movie as he would constantly hang his head low. Left to right and right to left, with one last move, he end up in the younger girl’s shoulder.

 

Watching this, Seohyun can only move closer and bring the tan guy’s head to much comfortable place in her shoulder. She smiled at the sight before her and continues to watch the movie.

 

But what it seems to be a more comfortable while watching a movie didn’t happened when she had already feel a lot of pop-corns hitting her head and to the tan guy. She bit her bottom lip out of annoyance and look back behind her.

 

None.

 

“What was that?” she mutters and just decided to focus back to the movie.

 

Minutes pass and thankfully the pop-corns had already gone out. The movie itself is coming to an end, and her date is basically still sleeping.

 

With a gentle nudge and patting the tan guy’s cheeks, Yul had finally opens his eyes and widen his arms almost immediately. “The movie is done?” he shamelessly asked the younger girl.

 

Seohyun chuckle in disbelief to her one week boyfriend. How can she didn’t notice? This guy is a heavy sleeper too, reminds her of a certain doe-eyed guy.

 

“Let’s go Sunbae.” Seohyun initiates to hold the tan guy’s hand and drags him out the theater.

Stopping their tracks, Seohyun stood in front of the tan guy and gives him a bright smile. Before the tan guy could utter a word, he was being drag by the younger girl again to a not so fancy restaurant.

 

“Why are we here?” oblivious, Yul asked almost immediately once they suited their selves in an empty table. Seohyun just smile again and left him to go to the counter.

 

Puzzled, Yul can only arch his eyebrows. The latter had made a talk to one of the staff and just like that, he witness as the younger girl went inside their office. “What’s up with her?” he gradually asked his self in disbelief, completely unaware with what will happen next.

 

Outside, Yoong and Nicole stared in puzzled as well. They saw the whole happening inside the restaurant.

 

“Oppa… should we get inside?”

 

Asked Nicole, but before the doe-eyed guy could answer it, his phone rang and the latter distance his self from her.

 

“Jinwoon-ssi?”

 

[Uh, Yoong… Professor Kwon has already arrived, he’s looking for you before we could start in 2 hours.]

 

Yoong literally groans in frustrations after hearing those words from his friend. He took a glance again to the restaurant and heaved a breath, before he respond. “Okay… I’ll be there.” He quickly ended the call and went back to Nicole.

 

“I think we should go. Professor Kwon is already there.” Yoong informed.

 

Nicole could only nods in agreement and left with the doe-eyed guy.

After Seohyun left him, Yul can just patiently waiting until 15 minutes past, the younger girl went back with a food tray. The tan guy’s eyes doubled when he noticed the latter’s uniform—chef.

 

“You-you… cook this?”

 

The younger girl sat across him and nods enthusiastically. Before him were mouth watering Korean foods. How can he be so happy at the moment; for the first time, or for the last time?—the younger girl cooked for him. He can no longer see any reason to let go of this living angel—but he knows, he should.

 

“Let’s start?” Seohyun snaps him to reality and lead them to start eating their lunch.

 

While eating, Yul can’t help but took a secrete glances to the younger girl. His heart is not hurting; it’s full of happiness even for knowing that this could be their last. But why he should feel hurt? Since they will still be friends after this, right? Only that, he had already given up his heart for this living angel. It’s sad to think but he’s happy inside.

 

He watches intently to the younger girl for quite sometime until he notice the latter stared to him back.

 

“Sunbae… “ Seohyun leaned closer to wipe the tan guy’s corner lips that made him froze on his spot. “You have a sauce in the side of your lip. You didn’t notice so I decided to wipe it off.” the younger girl almost immediately reasoned with a smile.

 

Yul could only smile and blush with the contact earlier and decided to ignore it by reaching the younger girl’s right hand. “I’m happy… thank you so much.” He said sincerely.

 

Giving it with a squeeze, Seohyun responds… “Someone like you… should never be miss. Sunbae, you’re such a good guy. Thank you and… you actually made me feel like this. It’s as if, I am here, in front of you… with the new me.” she escape a single tear after uttering those words. For their days as a couple, she learned a lot from this tan guy. She learned new and interesting things coming from the tan guy it self.

 

“Well, did I really change you?” Yul furrowed his eyebrows.

 

“Quite sunbae.” Seohyun said proudly.

 

“But I don’t think it’s only me… you actually change me at some point.” Yul shared his feelings too. “I wasn’t sure what is it… but… you make me feel proud with what I’m doing.” He said sincerely. From those times he had done a lot for his dad, he can only heard silence and emptiness. He feels like, everything he does isn't as good as for him but when this living angel came to his life? he can cearly feel the acceptance and the appreciation he always does for her. As if, he's special someone for the younger girl.

 

“Sunbae… you deserve to be happy.”

 

Yul just nods in slowly to the younger girl. How can he forget his self? “I am… and… I experience it with you. No need for me to move on with another girl.”

 

“But—“

 

“Jessica… she’s just a past for me now.”

 

Seohyun gives another gently squeezes to the tan guy’s hand, as she smile warmly to him. She knows the tan guy’s first love, but she doesn’t know that the latter still love her. “Are you sure Sunbae?”

 

Yul smiled brightly and caresses the younger girl’s cheeks. “I am… don’t worry about me. Let’s worry you and Yoong. What’s up with you two, huh?”

 

Seohyun rolled her eyes cutely and let go of her hands from the tan guy. “I don’t know Sunbae. He’s… actually just recently, I feel like… he’s… fond with my best friend?”

 

“Eh? he already confessed, right?”

 

“Aish! Sunbae, let’s just finish this first.” Seohyun quickly avoided the topic and proceeds to focus her attention back to her food.

 

Yul stared in disbelief to the younger girl. Did he just hear it? for the first time, does this living angel, jealous with Nicole?
