And into the valley of death they rode out

"SEUNGHYUN!!!" Yoobin called out his name in horror and sheer bloody panic as she ran to catch him before he falls to the ground. "Oh my God!" Seunghyun was shot in the stomach, his blood was rapidly leaking in result staining his clothes and Yoobin's hand.

"Yoobin?!" A voice called her name.

She looked up at the man who shot Seunghyun. The two glanced at each other indisbelief. "Jaejoong?!"

"Binnie! I-i thought you were dead!" the man named Jaejoong said as he approached Yoobin.

He was about to hug her, expecting the girl to stand up and hug back but all Yoobin did was yell and push the man. "Why the heck did you shoot him?!?"

"I thought he was a zombie!"

"Zombies doesn't walk or run that fast nor do they bring children safely to anywhere!” Yoobin was about to hit Jaejoong again, but she suddenly stopped when she heard a thud. Seunghyun passed out. Yoobin went ballistic when she saw him lying unconcious on the ground, she ran to him nearly crying her eyes out. “n-n-n-no! Seunghyun you j-just can’t die yet! You h-have siblings waiting!!” her voice cracked, and her tears started to fall. “For God’s sake Jaejoong, HELP HIM!!!”

Jaejoong stod there watching his siser in complete confusion, she never went this crazy at anything, much less a wounded man. “Somebody go get Eunri!” he yelled as he helped Yoobin carry Seunghyun down the stairs.

“Somebody called?” A girl popped up from around the corner.

“This guy is shot, patch him up.” Jaejoong said as he and Yoobin lay Seunghyun to the ground for that girl to see.

“Oh my goodness. He lost a lot of blood...” The girl said. She then looked around to see Yoobin’s face, she looked as if she was about to cry again so the girl said, “Don’t worry, he’ll be fine.”

Yoobin sat down and left Eunri to do her work. She looked at her brother again and said, “If only you didn’t shoot him, i would’ve hugged you instead of hitting you.” Yoobin’s sight reverted back to Seunghyun’s body. Eunri took out the bullet and made him jolt annd woke up, as he was wincing in pain, Yoobin and the three little kids could only watch from a far.

“Get a lighter and alcohol!!” Eunri yelled making a man got on his feet and get what she needed.  “Now this might hurt....a hell lot.” Eunri lit the lighter and burned his wound, Seunghyun bit his hand to contain his yells. “There...all closed.” Eunri shredded a piece of cloth from her jacket to put alcohol on his wound.  “Done.”

At the word Yoobin got on her feet and began to run towards them, “i-i-is he okay?”

“He’s just exhausted, give him some time to rest. Now gotta go burn all of these down, don’t want to be zombie chow now would we?” Eunri said as she turned around to leave.

“Yoo-Yoobin?” Seunghyun dry and raspy voice called her.

“I’m sorry.” She said, shooting him an apologetic expression while trying so hard not to cry.

“It’s not your fault.”

“It’s my idiot brother’s fault.”

He smiled at her, “He didn’t mean it, he thought i was a zombie...”

“But still...”

“It’s okay. Oh and i told you so.”

“What?”

“Your brother is still alive, i told you so.”

Yoobin could only laugh at his attempt to cheer her up, “Now rest your head, we have to stay here for the moment. You’re in no posistion to go anywhere.” She said as she folded her jacket for him to use as a pillow, the three litle kids then ran to him as he smiled and rested his head on the girl’s folded jacket.

Yoobin sat there, hugging Leo who is half asleep. Jaejoong was talking with a few of his friends, explaining to them what had happened earlier. They didn’t seem that shocked. The girl named Eunri there was sitting at the corner of the room in the tender embrace of  a man, he looks familiar....ah! Changmin, one of Jaejoong’s friends. There was a few other people inside this kitchen, the scene was similar to the one back at her place, these people are also survivors.

She knows very well that Seunghyun will be zombie bait and sooner or later those monsters will show up. The concequences of her being wrong is death, not just her death, but death of the many innocents here. Yoobin started to count, that was the only thing she knew how to calm her down.

Yoobin kept on counting. She thought about her risky plan, Seunghyun was too weak to go anywhere so if she attempted to run it would be very futile, zombies are faster than a wounded man. But then knowing her brother, he wouldn’t have not hid some car around here, he’s not the type of guy to rescue people on foot.

Fourty eight.

Fifty.

Fifty one.

Yoobin counted again, hoping that her intuition won’t let her down, at least...not now of all times.

Ninety.

Ninety six.

As if it was on cue a girl stormed in. “Jaejoong what the hell have you done!?!?!” A girl with a doll like face and glass like eyes yell at her brother, she sat there quietly as if she knows that this was going to happen. And after that a man that has the similar haircut as Taeyang showed up, also looking as angry as the girl.

“Those zombies are like fucking vampires and being the dumbass you led them here by shooting that guy over there!” He pointed at Seunghyun.

One hundred and twenty five.

One hundred and twenty nine.

The room was filled with yells of frustration and panic, fear haunts everyone’s minds as death was drawing near to them in herds.

One hundred and fifty- “We won’t hold out very long, Jaejoong!” a man’s voice called out. She stopped to count, the only thing separating them from death was a mere concrete wall. Yoobin stood up.

“Do you have a car?” she asked, and suddenly she became the center of everybody’s attention.

Jaejoong nodded, “Yeah, we stole a few.”

“We can still make it to my shelter, it’s not far from here. It’s at the old abandoned mental hospital.”

The mohawked man looked at her in utter disbelief, “A mental hospital?!”

“Hey so far i’m the only one who has a shelter and a solid excape plan, if you want to die here then don’t come at all.” Yoobin sternly replied, in result the man scowls.

“But are you planning on taking him along? You’ll lead the zombies to that place and you’ll doom us all!” The mohawked man exclaimed.

Seunghyun overheard the conversation, he bitterly laughed and said “Then leave me here.” Everyone turned their heads over to him, making him the sudden attention to the group. The doll-faced girl squinted her eyes to see who the man was.

“Seunghyun?” she asked.

“B-bom?”

The girl named Bom just ran over next to him, “I’m so glad you’re still alive.” She gave him a hug and then proceeded to help him up, “He’s coming.”

Yoobin couldn’t help but feel a hint of jealousy when she saw the scene. She felt out of place. “COULD YOU GUYS MAKE UP YOUR MIND!?!? WE ARE GOING TO DIE!?!” another voice yelled again, snapping them back into reality.

“Changmin, take these people out and take them to her place. You know where it is right?” Jaejoong asked his friend, the man nodded in response. “Good, load the bazooka in the pick up truck for me too will ya? Bom, Jay, Yoobin and Seunghyun, you guys are with me.”Leo was about to be taken away from Yoobin by Eunri, the little boy hits Eunri’s arms and ran to both Yoobin and Seunghyun with his sisters.

“Take us with you!!” He cried loudly and hugged Yoobin’s leg.

Yoobin squated down, “We can’t take you along! It’s too dangerous!” her reply only made the three kids cry even louder. They didn’t have time for anymore of this, so Yoobin dragged all three of them back to Changmin and Eunri, “Changmin oppa, take these kids and get them there safely!” the two adults disappeared by the basement stairs but they could still hear the kids crying.

The rest of them then ran downstairs and got on the last car, a pick up truck. Bom and Seunghyun was put inside the car, Yoobin and Jaejoong was at the back of the truck ready for a bloodbath, and Jay was driving.

All the way from down the basement they could hear the shrieks, the wails, howlings, and yells of the undead. They sounded like chanting ‘we’re going to eat you’ over and over and over like a broken record playing in an empty haunted mansion. The scent of rotting flesh and blood could be smelled all the way from down below. Chills ran through their spines as the car began to move.

For this was not anything that they ever hoped living to see, nothing that they could ever imagine, nothing like the movies or any book can describe. This is real, those monsters are real, hell is really here and they’re still alive. Gulping the last of their fears out they all go, out through the comforting darkness of the basement forward into the pale light of the out doors.

And into the valley of death they rode out.
