Cappuccinos and Chocolate Cakes

Mirror Mirror

Your POV

Two days.

It's been two days. Forty-eight hours. Two thousand, eight hundred and eighty minutes. One hundred and seventy two thousand, eight hundred seconds, and counting. Two days since I've last seen Kai.

Where was he?

I looked out my magic window. I had changed it to a rainy setting.

How I long to go outside and feel the real rain. To taste the real rain. How I wish... but I know I will never have a chance...

...or do I?

Lee ~~~~~'s POV

Two days.

It's been two days. Forty-eight hours. Two thousand, eight hundred and eighty minutes. One hundred and seventy two thousand, eight hundred seconds, and counting. Two days since my first encounter with my stalker.

Where was he?

I looked out the cafe window. It was raining. I sighed and sipped my hot cup of cappuccino. I long to see my stalker again. I want to see him. I want to know him. Will I ever get the chance to?

I sighed.

~Present Time~

Your POV

I looked around the cold dark mansion once more, biting my lip. This was a stupid thing to do, I know... but I wanted to do it. I needed to do it. I turned and looked at the door and reached out to grab the door knob. The cold door knob. It was my first time ever touching the door.

I slowly turned the knob and listened to the creaking. I opened the door and stepped out. I was surprised as to what I saw.

I had always tried to remember how to outside how the house would look like. I expected a mansion in the middle of nowhere, because every time I went out in the backyard, I was always in a garden...but seeing it right now, I know that Kai is really a genius. Even the backyard was fake. Another of his many spectacular creations.

The moment I stepped out, I looked over all these shops with people everywhere. There were a bunch of cars and everywhere was so noisy. I realized where I had been living all my life.

On top of a shop.

I looked around and saw a flight of stairs. I turned around and locked the door with a spare key I found. Kai had once told me that this was a key he created, that could open any lock. Amazing.

I walked down the stairs, cautiously. As soon as I stepped off that last step, people practically trampled over me. They were everywhere. I looked so out of place in my white dress.

I walked towards the shop I had been living on top all this time. It was a coffee shop. Curiously, I peered through the window. The person sitting at the window looked at me and tapped onto the window. He was drinking coffee with a friend.

I jumped back. I saw them laugh before going back to their business.

Curious, I walked to the door and pushed it open. The bells tingled and the smell of freshly ground coffee beans hit me. It was so warm in this cafe. Music was playing, not loudly, but enough for one to be able to hear it yet not be disturbed by it.

There were many people inside, chatting and drinking coffee. I walked up to the counter and looked through the window display of cakes. There were so many types! More than I'd ever seen in my whole life.

"How may I help you?" A voice asked.

I looked up to see a waitress looking at me. I bit my lip and said, "I... er..."

"~~~~~? Is that you?" I turned to see a waiter looking at me. He was grinning from ear to ear. "It is you! I haven't seen you in years! Where have you been?"

He ran up and pulled me in for a hug. I didn't know what to say. He looked at the waitress and nodded. "You can go back to your job."

"Neh, manager-oppa."

The manager looked at me, "Want the usual?"

"The u-usual?" I said stuttering.

He chuckled and ruffled my hair. "Cappuccino and chocolate cake, neh? It's on the house." He winked.

I nodded. "Neh..."

He grinned. "Just sit down. I'll go start up the coffee machine."

He walked away and I looked around, for a seat. I walked to a cosy looking area and sat down. It was a window seat. I awkwardly sat at the edge of the seat. A plate of chocolate cake was placed in front of me, as well as a beautiful cup of cappuccino.

The manager sat down across from me. "Still the same as two years ago, aye? This always has been your favourite seat."

I nodded. So I guess... ~~~~~ came here often then. No wonder Kai built our home on this shop.

He held a hand out, gesturing, at the food. "Aren't you going to eat?"

"N-neh." I nodded.

He chuckled. "So, how have you been?"

"Good..."

I looked at his name tag. Suho

"How about you, Suho-ssi?" I asked, trying to act normal.

He chuckled and scratched his head. "Why are you so formal all of a sudden? You used to call me 'Suho-oppa', remember?"

I smiled, "Of course I do." I took a sip out of the cappuccino. It was... nice... but too bitter for my taste. I grabbed a sugar and added that in.

Suho watched me, with a raised eyebrow. "Still one sugar."

I shrugged and laughed nervously. "Haha. Yeh." I took a bite out of the chocolate cake. It was delicious, melting in my mouth. It tasted like heaven. I took another bite.

"So... where have you been these two years? You and Luhan both seem to have disappeared from the face of the earth! You two are still together, right?"

"L-Luhan? Uhm... yeh. I guess we are." Who's Luhan? I don't think Kai's ever mentioned him before. "I'd been studying and working abroad these two years. Ya know, gaining experience... so has Luhan, I guess."

He nodded. "I see... But you, having to work? You're kidding right? What's a rich girl like you working for? I mean, you have your parents. They give you money."

I nodded and fibbed,"B-but, it's not the same as hard earned cash." Not like I actually knew what earning money would feel like.

"That's true." He looked around. "Oh, well, I gotta get back to work now. Enjoy your coffee and cake. It's nice talking to you again."

I nodded. "Neh. Same here." I drank the warm cappuccino and continued to eat the delicious chocolate cake.

Hmm... I guess Lee ~~~~~ and I do have something in common afterall; cappuccino and chocolate cake by the window seat.
