Breaking Free
Mirror MirrorYour POV
I had just finished feeding Lee ~~~~~, when Kai walked into the lab. He was about to say something, but I pressed my finger onto my lips, signaling him to be quiet. Ok, sure, Lee ~~~~~ was in a coma, but there was a part of me, that felt that she wanted to be left in peace. At least, until she woke.
He chuckled silently, and waited for me to finish off, before exiting the lab. He closed the secret passage and turned to me, with a huge grin. "Saengil chukhae habnida."
I tilted my head on the side, and laughed. "What are you saying?"
"It's your birthday today." He said, grinning.
"What? Really?" I thought for a moment, until I remembered the date. He was right. I was... three years old. How awkward that is. Kai never mentioned anything about birthdays these past two years, on this day. It was usually me who would remember, and bitterly celebrate it by myself, while he hid in his lab. This year was a first.
He walked to his desk, and pulled out a box. I peered at it, curiously. He smiled, as he opened it. Inside, was a beautiful pink and white icing cake, that said, "Happy Birthday! You're three!"
I almost burst into tears. I looked at Kai, speechless. "So... do you like it?" He asked, unsurely.
I nodded, and hugged him. "I love it. Thank you Kai. It's beautiful." He chuckled. "Ok, ok. Let's have a mini celebration, kid." I giggled, and nodded.

Lee ~~~~~'s POV
In the distance, I could hear a familiar chuckle. A familiar giggle. Suddenly, the nothingness... was gone. I could see the darkness. I could feel everything. The hard surface I laid on. The soft cotton fabric that I was wearing. I could taste the dryness in my mouth.
But, I still couldn't do anything. I felt like I was being chained down. In my mind. I willed my eyes to open, but they didn't. I felt like I was in a box. I tried to move, but I couldn't.
All I could do, was breath in and out. In and out. And I wasn't satisfied with just breathing. I wanted to see light. I wanted to move.
Maybe, I could manage to pull the chains off. Maybe I could break out of my box. No, not maybe. I will. I will. I will free myself from the chains. I will break out of the box. I am.

Your POV
Kai and I were in the middle of enjoying the delicious cake, and slapping icing onto each other's faces, when I heard a faint beeping from the distant. I looked at Kai, "Kai, can you hear that?"
He stopped, and listened closely for a minute. His eyes lit up with realization. "It's ~~~~~. She's waking up."
He dropped the cake he was holding, and quickly ran to his lab door. He opened it, and rushed in. I followed behind him. Kai had created a machine. It detected brain waves, or in this case Lee ~~~~~'s.
It had started beeping because it detected a change in Lee ~~~~~'s brain. Kai had made sure it only beeped when it was the brain waking up. I don't know how he did it, because I don't understand how exactly the machine works, but he did. He was a genius.
He walked up next to the stone, and looked down at Lee ~~~~~. I stood next to him. He looked at the machine, and the readings. Numbers and wave patterns were all I saw on the screen, but to Kai, it probably meant something. He clicked a few buttons on the machine, and held onto the Original's hand. I bit my lip and watched him.
"Kai, what is it?" I couldn't help but ask.
He didn't answer. He stopped clicking at the machine, and looked at his lover. Her eyes shot wide open.
