Severe as a gale, loath in eyes like windows to a stormy sea emblazoned with frozen sunlight yet pure as life’s elixir and a nightingale’s song, an element will win the maiden’s heart and the key to the hidden fortress.”

Terminologies:
Elyxo
Elyxo is a realm of existence within the unseen bounds of the Earth, beyond the knowledge of mere humans, which could be accessed through elemental portals created by Elyxians who were given the gift to create them, mostly ancients. In time, the portal dies with the disappearance of its creator’s life force. A few portals are known to exist among its people, heavily guarded from Earth and Elyxo.
It was created by two powerful beings that were believed to take the form of legendary beasts. They are known as Kiyo and Maru, the High Elyxian Gods, who decided to divide the land into two kingdoms – the West Kingdom and East Kingdom, otherwise known as Korinthia and Meropia respectively.
The kingdoms were separated by the Elyxian River, preventing easy passage through both places and for wars to ignite between the Korinths and the Meropians like their forefathers before them. Not even portals could be made to cross the kingdoms due to the agreement and the only passage called the Exo Bridge is guarded by the Elyxian Guardians that reside in the Elyxian River.
Each kingdom has six noble bloodlines that were appointed to guard different natural elements. Seven cities comprise a kingdom, six of which were meant for the nobles and the remainder serves as a capital where they gather.
It’s a place very much like the human world with the exception of the way of living and the gifts and special abilities that its people posses.
Korinthia
Korinthia is known as the West Kingdom. Its territory stretches out from the west side of the Elyxian River to the lands and seas westward. It’s the land that Kiyo had created, bearing the power over teleportation, fire, wind, earth, light and water with the moon dominating its skies. The people are referred to as the “Korinths”.
Meropia
Meropia is otherwise known as the East Kingdom. Its territory stretches from the east bank of the Elyxian River to the lands and seas eastward. It’s the land where Maru is revered as creator, bearing control over telepathy, healing, flight, frost, lightning and time with the sun dominating its skies. The people of Meropia are called Meropians.
Elyxian River
It is the river that divides the two Kingdoms, going all the way from the North to the South with no way around it as the river isn’t simply horizontal, but its waters stand like a thick wall by the banks all the way up to the sky. It protects the only passage that connects the two kingdoms called the Exo Bridge. It possesses all of the twelve powers and more including illusions. It is home to various creatures ranging from harmless nymphs to terrible beasts. The river is also the cause of the opposing seasons and time of day in each kingdom (i.e. it’s night time at the other side while it’s daytime on the other or it’s winter on the other side while it’s summer on the other). It is being guarded by the Elyxian Guardians.
Exo Bridge
The Exo Bridge is the only known passage way that connects the East and West Kingdom. However, no one has actually seen it except in visions from oracles as it is in between the water walls of the Elyxian River. It would only be revealed in the prophesied union of the two kingdoms at the twelfth union of the sun and moon.
Kiyo
Kiyo is the god of Korinthia and is believed to take the form of a woman that possesses unearthly beauty with a dragon’s body for lower extremities. She bears six elemental powers – the earth, wind, water, fire, light and the ability to teleport.
Maru
Maru is the revered god of the Meropians and is believed to be half woman, half sea serpent. She controls six powers as well namely frost, flight, telepathy, healing, lightning and time control.
Elyxians
It’s the term that the people of Elyxo use to refer to themselves generally regardless of the kingdom they belong to. They are people with special abilities. Everyone has a special ability, each unique and different in some way, but mostly intermittent and isn’t potentially threatening. Common powers include unusual strength, simple healing abilities and the ability to slow the aging process. Elyxians aren’t known to be vulnerable except to their own people and they live way longer than humans. As to the elements, they are controlled by the nobles and they are the only ones who can bear the higher powers.
Elyxian Guardians
They are the powerful beings created by Kiyo and Maru to protect the bridge. There are twelve main guardians, the first half bearing Kiyo’s powers while the other half possess Maru’s powers. They pose as protectors as well as threats to the Elyxians.

They are elemental beings called “Cherubia” that take the form of pudgy, little children dressed in flower petals and leaves. They look very deceiving with their show of innocence and utter cuteness, but they are powerful creatures. They are very friendly, but if one attempts to enter the portal, they would turn into viscous beasts.
Creatures, Places and Other Terms:
Name: Nephylus
Description: a dragon that is used by people to safely transport them from one place to the other; the Nephylus is armed with extra senses that could detect danger, thus knowing which route to take; each one carries a sling-like cloth made of braided ropes where the person being transported would sit
Name: Kirin/Unicorn
Description: another animal that people use for transportation, usually pulling chariots and the like; Kirins are usually made into pets and bred by people; it is forbidden to kill Kirins
Name: Griffin
Description: an animal that is also used for transportation by some, and mostly, they are pets; they have the head, claws and wings of an eagle, but has the body of a lion
Name: Kali
Description: A chariot with walls made of water, wheels made of fire with a phoenix driving it. It is drawn by the wind and once one boards it, there’s no way out unless the chariots drops one off as the water produces electrical charges if the one inside it tries to get out.
Name: Flame Herald
Description: A huge bird with bright red wings, a shimmering gold head, beak and feet with half of its body made of fire. It serves as a guide and protector to the Flame Nobles, following the heir around.
Name: Frost Pixies
Description: Fairy-like creatures that have frost powers under the command of the Frost Noble. They are a native creature of the city of Glacia.
Name: Herald Bird
Description: A red and gold-feathered bird that looks like a phoenix. It’s the ordinary kind of bird in Elyxo used as messengers.
Name: Mist Deer
Description: It’s a kind of deer in Elyxo. It’s white with black accentuations and has horns like that of gazelles. A fleet of these deer could make the surrounding very foggy as they have mist for tails. They are considered as sacred creatures.
Name: Elyxian Crystals
Description: These crystals are used by the Elyxians to communicate to each other, each having a unique color and shape for every owner. It can also be used to either locate someone or block others from finding a person.
Name: Fu
Description: A tree oracle, considered as the most precise and powerful oracle. She is the seventh oracle of the Elyxians who prophesied the coming of defeat of the Elyxian Guardians.
Name: River Sheol
Description: It's a gigantic tree with a water orb on its trunk connected to the Elyxian River. It is said to be located at the heart of the dark forest that surrounds the river and is said to be the place where the people that the Elyxian River had captured would end up.
Name: Portals
Description: The three main passage from Elyxo to another realm of existence just like the human world. There are only three known passages - the River Portal, the Korinth Portal and the Meropioan Portal. It could only be accessed by those who are powerful enough to either enter or get out.

Description: A sacred place in Korinthia where the people seek gudiance from Kiyo.

Name: Lake Guardian (Ahn Han Seul)
Description: The Lake Guardian is one of the lower Elyxian guardians that fathered the fulfillment of the prophecy. He escaped from Elyxo after his daughters were born.
Name: Purists
Description: A group of people, present on both Meropia and Korinthia, known to be the instigators of the ancient war that brough about schism between the two lands. They have aims to keep Meropia and Korinthia separated from each other and embody the opposition of the peoples' goals to unite.
Characters:
The Korinth and Meropian Nobles
The Korinth Nobles include the Water Nobles, Light Nobles, Flame Nobles, Earth Nobles, Teleportation Nobles and the Wind Nobles. On the other hand, the Meropian Nobles include the Telepathy Nobles, Healing Nobles, Flight Nobles, Frost Nobles, Lightning Nobles and the Time Nobles. They serve as guardians to the natural elements they were appointed to protect, harness and control. It’s their job to maintain the peace and unity of their people until the end of the great schism.

Foreword
PROLOGUE:
For thousands of years, Elyxo had existed under the guidance of two celestial beings – Kiyo and Maru. In the past, the land was one, whole nation, harmonious and peaceful, until the war of the sun and moon erupted. The war lasted for more than fifty years which made Kiyo and Maru displeased. Disappointed and seeking vengeance to the Elyxians, the two gods decided to divide the land, creating the Elyxian River to stand guard to the only passage – the Exo Bridge.
The people, regardless of their side in the war, were trapped where they were as the river rose high up to the sky. Many died in the struggle as the seasons weren’t following the same pattern as before, even the time of the day. Those who willed themselves to survive soon called the now separate lands as “Korinthia” and “Meropia” and started rebuilding.
The two gods were pleased by their actions, however, they wouldn’t allow such wars to rise again so the river stayed there, serving as a reminder to their forefathers’ folly.
It had been peaceful until the people decided that they wanted to be united with each other again. An oracle by the name Fu stated twelve prophecies that would happen in succession within the next twelve centuries, each needed to be fulfilled by the twelfth moon of the twelfth year of the next century. The prophecies should be fulfilled with attention to the details so as to reveal the Exo Bridge.
Every twelfth year of the century, the ancient scrolls are brought out and the new prophecy would be read to the heirs of the elements. Each time, they would fulfill the prophecy without delay and every time, the power of the river guardians becomes weaker and weaker. The guardians were not pleased about that idea as they would turn into mere Elyxians once the prophecies were fulfilled. It was to their advantage that the last prophecy involved them.
Eighteen years prior to the present day in Elyxo, the guardian that fathered the prophesied maiden that would reveal the bridge escaped from Elyxo into another world. With that, his power disappeared and it got harder for the portal guards to track him down.
However, prophecies are prophecies. They would be fulfilled one way or the other regardless of the odds. After the guardian who escaped died, his life force went back to where he came from and through that, the oracles were able to locate the promised maiden. To their surprise, they didn’t find one, but two of them, making the result quite vague for everyone, even to the two gods. The oracles were then forbidden to divulge what they’ve found out to the Elyxians as ordered by the two gods. In turn, it would lead to trouble that might either unite or split the two kingdoms for good.
And so it starts...
