“Call my mom for me; she’s speed dial number two,” Kibum directed.
“Who’s one, your dad?” I wondered as I pressed the number two with my thumb. He hesitated before replying.
“…No.”
“Who is it?”
“It’s a secret.”

Foreword
“Do you want to stay over?” he asked, turning to face me. Wow, mind-reader much? My brain seemed to stop working because my mouth hung open and no words came out. Kibum laughed at me and took a seat next to me. He started rambling on about all the entertainments holding auditions. My heart thumped in my chest in excitement. If I made it in, I would be able to escape the life I had at home. I honestly can’t imagine my life without Kibum. Most of my happiest moments were when I was with him.
“Can I stay over?” I asked bashfully. His right eyebrow arched up perfectly.
“Of course,” he answered. I played with a loose thread from his blanket.
“Kibum… thank you.” For a brief moment, our eyes locked. I was the first one to look away.
“I like you!” Kibum suddenly blurted out. My eyes widened as I turned my head. He was already staring; his face was red.
“Wha-“
“Sorry!” he quickly interjected, “I… was practicing for when I’m going to confess to the girl I like.” My heart sunk. I couldn’t hide my disappointment, so I lowered my head. I dug my nails into my palms to stop the tears. Kibum stood up.
“I’m going to take a shower,” he murmured, “Y-You can go to sleep or something.” He left the room, leaving me alone. Now I know… that this is an unrequited love. A tear unconsciously rolled down my cheek. Idiot… You don’t know how much it hurts.
