Just let me tuck you in Himchan, you’re wasted.
Yongguk hesitantly walked outside, questioning his moral duty as a leader as Daehyun’s sobs grew louder. He shook it off, opening the front door and looking for Himchan. Himchan was lying on the ground in the grass, looking up at the sky and smiling wide. Yongguk grinned at the sight. He stepped outside, letting the cold air envelop him as he shut the door behind him. He was amazed that Himchan wasn’t fazed by the weather. Generally, the younger boy was shaking like a leaf if it was below 80. But now, in the dead of night, Himchan laid back in the yard, eyes wide with wonder as he gazed at the stars above. Yongguk stepped out towards him until Himchan put a hand up to stop him.
“Ya’ hear that?” Himchan asked, grinning. Yongguk paused and listened closely, but nothing was making any noise.
“No, I don’t hear anything.” he said. Himchan let his hand fall beside him again as he nodded.
“Caxtly’. In’ it peaceful?” he asked, head tilted back so he could look at the older. Yongguk thought about it and then decided that yes, it was a nice change of pace. He was used to hearing yelling or crying, and for once, all he heard was the deep, soft, and slurred words of the one he loved. He smiled to himself as he took a seat by Himchan, looking down at his face and stroking his cheeks with the back of his hand.
“You’re beautiful.” he said. Himchan giggled and shook his head.
“M’, not really. M’ pretty average.” he corrected. Yongguk made a face in disagreement.
“You’ve always been so full of yourself, Himchan. What makes you think differently all of a sudden?”
Himchan sat himself up carefully, only to place a hand on Yongguk chest to push him down to lay beside the younger. Without a fight, Yongguk lowered himself down onto the grass so he was close next to Himchan. For once, he was happy that his boyfriend was so damn hot all the time, in the literal sense. Yongguk snuggled in close to the heat and kissed Himchan’s cheek. The younger searched for Yongguk hand, and when he found it, he held it like if he let go, the stars would take him away.
“Look at em’.” Himchan said, pointing above him. Yongguk hummed in acknowledgment. “That’s wha’ real beauty is Gukkie. I’m nothing compared to them. N’ that’s what worries me a lot recently.” Himchan said. Yongguk nuzzled into Himchan’s neck, kissing it before speaking.
“Why are you worried Himchan?” he asked. Himchan sighed and squeezed Yongguk’s hand.
“If another member does good, you call them the star of the show. I’ve never once been the star.” Himchan sighed out. Yongguk giggled a bit and squeezed Himchan’s hand back.
“Then do better.” he teased. Himchan huffed and sat up.
“M’ being serious here.” Himchan spat out, eyebrows knitted close together. “Tell m’ I’m a star!”
Yongguk boomed with laugher as he pushed Himchan to lie down again. He kissed Himchan sweetly and looked him in the eyes. Himchan seemed to have his own little world in there. He could see in them how much he meant to the younger.
“I can’t call you a star Himchan. You see, there are many stars in the sky, so everyone can be one. But, there’s only one of you. Himchan, you’re my entire world. There’s only one of those in the whole universe. That’s more fitting for you. And I mean, the Earth can’t compare with your beauty, but you get what I’m saying, right?”
Himchan sniggered and turned to face the older. Himchan nearly jumped when he turned and noticed just how close they were laying together. Yongguk blushed bashfully as Himchan settled down, adjusting himself to lie more comfortably next to the older.
“What if we just slept under the stars tonight?” Yongguk asked. Himchan looked at him and smiled.
“I don’ think th’ neighbors would b’ thrilled w’ seeing two grown men laying in each other's arms on the lawn.” Himchan giggled out. Yongguk laughed and pulled Himchan in closer to him.
“Damn. We need to sleep under the stars together one of these days.” Yongguk said. Himchan piped up.
“How bout’ on our honeymoon?” he proposed. Yongguk almost snapped Himchan’s spine with the force of his hug.
“Perfect! I knew I liked you for some reason!” he joked. Himchan struggled to loosen the grip, trying not to laugh too. After a few seconds of flailing, Yongguk got the message and let go of the younger. Himchan smiled with his teeth showing and everything, blushing like mad.
“Sometimes I think that you can’t be anymore perfect, and then you prove me wrong.” Himchan said fluently, smiling. Yongguk poked Himchan on the nose and pecked him on the lips.
“Same for me.” he said, looking deeply into Himchan’s eyes. Yongguk and Himchan lay on the grass, just looking at each other for the longest while. It wasn’t until Yongguk’s eyes began to droop that they decided to get up from the ground and head back inside. When Yongguk stood up, Himchan immediately noticed the older male shaking from the cold. Himchan winked with a lewd remark.
“We could always lay back down and I can help heat things up.”
Yongguk coughed once and shook his head.
“I don’t care how sober you are now Himchan, I’m too damn tired for it.” he said. Himchan laughed and pushed the older towards the door.
“Then walk inside you idiot. I don’t want you to freeze!” Himchan demanded. Yongguk smiled slightly and opened the door to walk inside, but he stepped to the side and made a show of allowing Himchan to enter.
“Ladies first.” he teased. Himchan sneered with a smile on his face.
“You can be such an ass. But I love you.”
I CANT TRAKE A DAY WTHIOUT YOU EHTRE. YORYE THE LGITH THAST MAKES MY DARKNESS DISAPPEASR.
Himchan’s ears perked up when they walked back into the dorm. Yongguk’s face flushed with guilt as Himchan looked over to him.
“Do you know-?” Himchan asked. Yongguk shrugged and made some nonsense hand motions.
“When I went to check on Daehyun earlier he was crying but I just let him be. I thought by now he would have stopped, but I guess not.”
Himchan sighed and placed a hand on the small of Yongguk’s back.
“You go to bed dear. I’ll deal with Daehyun. Besides, I’m not tired and you look like you could fall asleep any second now. Go to sleep.” Himchan said, standing on his tiptoes to kiss Yongguk on the forehead. The older touched the spot and smiled at the gesture.
“Be gentle with him.” was all Yongguk said before flopping down on the couch. Himchan pursed his lips and made a sound of disgust.
“You think I’m going to sleep with him?” Himchan asked. Yongguk shot up and looked at Himchan with shock.
“You said to be gentle with him.” Himchan repeated. Yongguk rolled his eyes and laid back down, covering his head with a pillow.
“I meant with your words you horny little bastard.” Yongguk mumbled out. Himchan smiled and slapped him on the arm before going to talk to Daehyun.
“I know what you meant.”
Himchan left the older to sleep as he walked down the hall, hearing sniffles and choked wails. He almost felt bad intruding on the younger, as if this was none of his business. When he got to the door, he knocked twice and spoke.
“Daehyun? What’s wrong?” he asked, feeling the pit of his stomach burn. He felt like he was going to throw up again. It was times like these he cursed his low alcohol tolerance.
“It’s none of your business!” Daehyun yelled. Himchan smacked himself on the forehead.
“Open up!” Himchan demanded. Daehyun grunted and Himchan heard some shuffling. Daehyun cracked the door only enough for Himchan to see a puffy, red eye.
“What?” he growled, wiping under his nose with his sleeve. Himchan awkwardly stood and tried to offer condolences.
“If you want to talk-”
“I don’t.” Daehyun said before slamming the door. Himchan stood in front of it, and then returned to the living room, defeated. Yongguk opened and eye and looked to Himchan.
“Oh no you don’t.” he said before Himchan could sit down. Himchan huffed and ran his hands through his hair.
“Why can’t we let him wallow in his misery for once?” Himchan asked. Yongguk shut his eye and hummed.
“Because we love him. He’s probably wrecked from earlier when he took the shot because he wanted to... well, because he slept with Jongup, and you saying that reminded him of how he acted with Youngjae.” Yongguk explained.
“But I only said I wanted to have sex with Jongup even though I’m dating you. I didn’t have it.” Himchan defended. Yongguk huffed.
“That’s not the point.” he said. Himchan walked back to Daehyun’s room and went to knock.
“No buts!” Yongguk yelled. Himchan sighed and knocked again.
“Daehyun, you really need to open up. We need to talk.” Himchan said. Daehyun huffed from behind the door and sniffled.
“About what?” he demanded to know. Himchan was getting impatient with the younger’s behavior.
“Something. Anything. Just open up please.” Himchan begged. The doorknob turned and Himchan’s wrist was grabbed. Daehyun, who shut the door behind him and blocked the exit, tugged him in quickly.
“Give me a phone.” Daehyun said, looking like he was on the verge of a panic attack. Himchan fished into his pocket and pulled it out, tossing it up and down.
“Why do you need it?” he asked. Daehyun shook and his teeth chattered, slamming his eyes shut. A few tears slid out from sealed eyes. He drew in a shaky breath and turned his head to the side.
“I need to hear his voice.” Daehyun said. Himchan raised and eyebrow and held the phone, pulling up the screen.
“Who’s?” he asked, wondering which of the two boy’s he wanted to hear from. Daehyun grabbed at his hair and balled his hands into fists.
“Youngjae! I need to hear Youngjae’s voice! Please, give me the phone!” Daehyun wailed, arm extended and hand open. Himchan passed the phone over pathetically and watched the younger’s face tense up as the phone rang against his ear.
There was one ring. And then another.
“Come on, pick up.” Daehyun chanted. Himchan thought the same in his head as the second tone rang. Daehyun’s face was writhed with sadness as the third tone rang. Halfway into the fourth, Daehyun pulled the phone away from his ear and looked at it with sadness.
“Hello?” said a voice from the phone. Daehyun’s eyes grew wide with excitement as he pressed the phone to his ear again. “Himchan?” the voice asked.
“Youngjae?” Daehyun said to confirm. There was a pause, and then a hopeful reply.
“Daehyun? Is that you?” Youngjae asked, sounding ecstatic. Daehyun nodded his head and beamed at Himchan.
“Youngjae! It’s me! I wanted to call because I missed you.” Daehyun said. Himchan cleared his throat and made a hand motion. Daehyun blushed and dropped his voice. “And because I missed hearing your voice.” he said. Youngjae giggled from the other line.
“I missed your voice too.”
Daehyun was silent for the next minute, just listening to Youngjae breathe. Daehyun covered his eyes as he tried to hide his tears.
“I’m so sorry.” he said, crying out. Youngjae didn’t say anything in response, which was probably for the best. Daehyun cried to himself for a while as Himchan gawkily sat back. He motioned for Daehyun to wrap up the phone call.
“I have to go. Himchan wants his phone back.” Daehyun explained. Youngjae hummed. “I’m really sorry.” Daehyun said.
“Okay.” Youngjae replied. The older was about to hit ‘call end’ until Youngjae chimed in.
“Hey, Daehyun. Get better, okay?” he said sincerely. Daehyun choked out a cry and smiled, nodding.
“Anything for you.”
