BACK2U [Woohyun + Hyuna]

 

 

 

Characters: Woohyun, Hyuna, Joon, Sungkyu

 

 

Hyuna and Woohyun have been friends for over 3 years. They met through mutual friends and somewhat instantly became very close friends, or that's what Hyuna thought.

 

Everyone knows that she has a crush on him because she makes it VERY obvious. Guys are jealous of Woohyun and wish that they were in his shoes.

 

Girls know not to mess with Woohyun or else they have to deal with Hyuna and its best not to mess with Hyuna because she has A LOT of friends that will ruin your life.

 

She does everything she possibly can for him....

 

The problem is that... he doesn’t like her, at all.....he in fact likes her close friend Seungyeon but that's a secret only he and his close friend, Sungkyu, know.

 

[A/N: Woohyun and Hyuna will be the same age in this story!  Sungkyu is older but only Hyuna calls him oppa. Since Woohyun and Sungkyu are besties in here they talk informally]

"Woohyun-ah!" Hyuna ran over to him during lunch

 

"Hey Hyuna" He said to her looking for her friend, Seungyeon

 

"I made you lunch!" She said to him while blushing

 

 

She handed it to him and said, "Oh I'm not really hungry...Sorry" He said to her while getting up to go to the library

 

"Oh...okay" She said to him

 

Sungkyu who witnessed this couldn't help but to feel bad for Hyuna. [To Sungkyu, Hyuna was a little sister to him.] He could tell that she got no sleep in order to make this lunch for Woohyun and he didn't even bother to just take a bite...

 

"You okay Hyuna?" he asked when Woohyun was gone

 

She just looked over at him and just gave a slight smile but he could clearly tell that her feelings were really hurt. "Oppa, I don't want to make you feel like recycle bin but if you're hungry you can eat this since Woohyun won't...”

 

"Sure, thanks Hyuna!" Although he already ate he just took a bite and said "Wow this is amazing! Are you sure you cooked this?! I don't believe you! You probably hired someone!!" He said to her hoping to cheer her up

 

"NO! I made it!" She pouted

 

His friends started to come to the table and asked "What's that delicious looking lunch!?"

 

"Our beautiful Hyuna cooked it, try it!"

 

"WOW! Hyuna can you marry me?!" Sungjong said to Hyuna making her laugh

 

"OH YEAH! Who are you guys going with to the dance on Friday?" Hoya asked while eating Hyuna's food

 

"Jiyoon" Sungkyu answered happily

 

While everyone else just kind of shrugged their shoulders, "Hyuna how about you?"

 

Hyuna was sitting here thinking..."No one yet... "

 

 

'I'm going to confess to Woohyun that night' Hyuna happily thought to herself

Later that week Woohyun and Sungkyu in the classroom doing cleaning duty...

 

"Woohyun, who you going to ask to the dance?"

 

Woohyun looked over at Sungkyu and just sighed "I wish I can ask 'her...' but who knows what hell Hyuna would bring if I did"

 

"You know, Hyuna's a good girl"

 

"I know but she's just so... the opposite of what I like"

 

"And what's that?"

 

"Just someone simple, quiet, and ladylike girl?"

 

"So you're saying Hyuna is annoying, loud, and complicated??" Sungkyu asked and just couldn't believe Woohyun would even think that

 

"Something like that" Woohyun said without really thinking

 

 

Little did they know that one of Hyuna's enemies had recorded the whole conversation.

 

 

AT THE DANCE

Woohyun and his friends had entered and all the girls were drooling at how sexy they look and the guys were jealous.

 

As Hyuna entered everyone looked at her in awe, well minus Woohyun of course

 

 

Everyone was having a good time and Hyuna finally decided it was time so she walked over to Woohyun, "Woohyun can I talk to you?"

 

Woohyun was kind of pissed off because he was just about to ask Seungyeon to dance but he since he was a nice guy he just sighed and said, "Sure"

 

"Let’s go on the balcony over there" Hyuna said while taking his hand and dragging him

 

They were standing there in an awkward silence so Woohyun finally decided to talk first, "So what is it you wanted to talk to me about...”

 

"Okay Woohyun... I like you! I really want you to be my boyfrien-" She noticed that it got really quiet inside so she stopped for second and overheard

 

"I know but she's just so... the opposite of what I like"

 

"And what's that?"

 

"Just someone simple, quiet, and ladylike girl?"

 

"So you're saying Hyuna is annoying, loud, and complicated??!!"

 

"Something like that"

 

And at that moment everyone started to laugh and tears were forming in her eyes.

 

At that moment Woohyun didn't know what to do or say... He was about to say that it was.....what? Not even he knew...

 

He stepped forward to try to explain but before he could Hyuna stepped back away from him and said, "I'm sorry for being annoying...I...”

 

And with that she just ran through the crowd with people laughing at her. He tried to chase after her but she was gone.

 

Sungkyu found Woohyun and said, "Where is she?"

 

"I don't know. I.."

 

Sungkyu bitterly said to him, "Are you happy? You just lost a really good girl. I hope you know that"

 

"I..." Woohyun just stood there wondering why he felt his heart hurt so much seeing Hyuna crying like that

 

 

 

 

 

For the next week Woohyun got to school early in hope of finding Hyuna there but her seat was empty. He waited by her locker but she never came.

 

School just seemed different without her there. It seemed lonely? Empty? He just sighed and thought to himself, 'I guess she meant a little more to me than I thought...'

 

He was walking to class when he overheard some kids talking

 

"Did you hear that Joon is coming back to school?"

 

"Oh you mean Hyuna's ex?" The second student asked

 

"Well they were never official but I guess you could say that?" The first student said and they walked off

 

 

For some reason he didn't like the fact that Lee Joon was coming back. He heard that he and Hyuna were close until he became famous.

 

He was closer to his class and Sungkyu came up to him, "Did you hear that Lee Joon is coming back?"

 

"Yeah some students were talking about it"

 

"Well it looks like Hyuna will officially be off your back" Sungkyu said to him

 

"What do you mean?"

 

"You didn't know? Hyuna's at school today. She came with Joon"

 

And with that Woohyun ran to their class and found Hyuna in her seat. She was sitting next to Joon, laughing and having a good time...

 

 

'She's never laughed like that around me. Did she really like me? Psh' he thought to himself

 

He walked up to Hyuna, "Hyuna... Can we talk?"

 

She looked up at him and said, "Do I know you?" Her bitter tone had surprised him. Usually it was filled with love and happiness.

 

"Please let me explain." Woohyun said

 

"Look, you don't need to explain anything. You don't like me I get it. You don't need to say it again."

 

"Hyuna babe, is there a problem here?" Joon said while eyeing Woohyun

 

"Nope, don't worry about it oppa."

 

"Babe?" Woohyun asked without realizing

 

"Oppa let's go" Hyuna stood up taking Joon's hand and walked away with him

 

 

For the rest of the week Hyuna continued to ignore Woohyun.

 

"Has Hyuna talked to you yet?" Sungkyu asked

 

"No..."

 

"Good" Sungkyu blurted out

 

"What?" Woohyun looked over at him

 

Sungkyu just took a deep breath "Do you even know how much pain Hyuna has gone through because of you? She knew that you liked Seungyeon but she just still tried to win your heart. Those lunches she made you, she would wake up at 4-5AM just to make it for you and you never even took a bite...The only thing she ever did was like you and you took her for granted"

 

Woohyun was speechless. He always thought Hyuna bought those lunches or made her maids do it which is why he just carelessly never ate it.

"I...”

"Yeah you didn't know. And you didn't ever care to know" Sungkyu said to him "You know they say that you never know what you have until it's gone."

 

 

Woohyun was sitting by himself thinking about Sungkyu said. 'Did I feel lonely and empty after that night because of that? Do I like..her?? No... It can't be!'

 

He was walking around and noticed Joon with a bunch of girls around him. Seeing this sight just made him so angry, 'Where's Hyuna?!'

 

He stormed up to Joon. Joon looked up after noticing that Woohyun was there "Can I help you?"

 

"If you're just messing with Hyuna I would suggest you stop it now"

 

"Says the person who broke her heart by calling her annoying?"

 

Woohyun had enough, he was grabbed his shirt and said "You don’t know anything!"

 

"I know more than enough. I know that right now Hyuna needs A MAN."

 

Hearing this Woohyun was about to swing at Joon until Hyuna came. "What are you guys doing?!?" And ran up to them

 

Woohyun turned to look at Hyuna and at that moment his heart started to beat really fast.

 

"Just getting to know each other" Joon said while taking Hyuna's hand "Let's go"

 

Seeing this broke Woohyun's heart. And at that moment, he realized that he, in fact, is in love with Hyuna.

 

He chased after them and grabbed Hyuna's wrist. She turned around surprised by his actions. "What are you doing?" She yelled

 

"Follow me" he said pulling her away from Joon

 

They were sitting at the park "So.."

 

Woohyun faced her, "You never really let me explain why- "

 

"Look Woohyun, you really broke my heart that day and I just don't want to be reminded of it" She got up but he grabbed her

 

"Just listen please" He begged so she sat down

 

"Go on…" Hyuna said while looking down

 

"I said yes to whatever Sungkyu said without realizing what he said because I was looking at my phone… "

 

"I see" Hyuna said

 

"And about those times you made me lunch... I never knew you made it. I always thought that you bought it or just made someone else make it and I thought that was inconsiderate which is why I never ate it... I guess I just always thought you just liked me because my looks and just because of no reason"

 

"Woohyun... Where is this going?" Hyuna was now confused

 

"Look, Sungkyu said to me... You never know what you have until it's gone. The past weeks without you have been so empty...I really miss you Hyuna. I want you back in my life"

 

Hyuna just said quietly, "If someone were to overhear they would think that you're confessing to me"

 

After a long silence, "I am..."

 

Hyuna was surprised, "What?" She looked up at him and he was looking into her eyes

 

"Hyuna, I took you for granted for the last 3 years... I really hope you let me make it up to you… Please be my girlfriend"

 

"Woohyun..." Without realizing a small smile crept on her face.

 

Woohyun lean closer to her, cupped her face and gave her a gentle kiss. "Is that a yes?" He asked her and she nodded.

 

 

 

 

They walked together hand in hand the next day and the whole school was surprised.

 

Joon walked up to them and looked at Hyuna "Mission success?" while laughing

 

"Yup!" She said while giving him a high five

 

Woohyun was standing there completely confused, "What? Mission?"

 

"Woohyun... I'm sorry!!!" Hyuna pouted while hugging him

 

Sungkyu came up to Woohyun and hugged him from the back "I'm sorry too!"

 

"What's going on?!" Woohyun asked still confused

 

 

FLASHBACK

Hyuna was crying like crazy in her room until she heard a knock on her door. "Hyuna-ya you have a guest" her mom said to her "I have to go to work so I'll see you later okay?"

 

Sungkyu knocked on the door and said "It's Sungkyu oppa, Hyuna"

 

"Sungkyu oppa?" she asked him

 

"Eung, open up please"

 

Hyuna got up from her bed and opened the door for him "Why are you here.."

 

"You look like a beast!" He joked

 

She threw a pillow at him and said "Now is not the time to joke!"

 

Sungkyu sat next to Hyuna on the bed letting her head rest on his shoulder "Okay. I have a plan for you to get Woohyun"

 

"Oppa… look I just don't even want to bother anymore" Sungkyu was surprised. Usually Hyuna was jump on any help to get Woohyun

 

 "Listen, the reason I'm here is I really think that you have hope with him but you just approached it the wrong way"

 

"So what do you suggest?"

 

"Jealousy"

 

"Woohyun would never get jealous. He doesn’t even like me."

 

"He wouldn't but when he realizes how his life is without you and seeing you happier than you were when you liked him, he will slowly realize....you'll see"

 

"But who?"

 

Sungkyu didn't think of that "Is there someone like an ex? Or a very hot guy that you know that's willing to help?"

 

"I know of the PERFECT person"

 

"Who?"

 

"Lee Joon" Hyuna smiled

 

"Your ex-boyfriend?" He asked

 

Hyuna looked at him, "Ex-boyfriend? He's my best friend's boyfriend!"

 

"But there were rumors of you two until Woohyun"

 

Hyuna just laughed "Oh we were close because I was helping him with Jiyeon"

 

"Okay then, here's what we do... Don't come to school for a week! And then when you finally show up, COME WITH JOON!"

 

"Okay"

 

"And then when Woohyun tries to approach you just ignore him and act really cold towards him"

 

"I can't do that! He's... Woohyun!"

 

"Well unless you don't want him" Sungkyu said while getting up to leave but Hyuna grabbed him.

 

"No! Continue" Hyuna said and Sungkyu just snickered

 

"And then just continue it for a while and I'm gonna keep talking to him and make him jealous."

 

"Are you sure this will work?" Hyuna asked at the end

 

"Better than not trying right?" Sungkyu asked

 

"Right."

END OF FLASHBACK

 

 

"So you guys PLANNED THIS?!" Woohyun asked

 

"Well in the end you got Hyuna!" Sungkyu said to him but that wasn't enough. Woohyun chased him

 

"YAAAA! How could you lie to me!"

 

"Well fine, Hyuna let's go! Woohyun's mad that he has you" Sungkyu said taking Hyuna's wrist

 

"NO! Don't touch her! She's mine" Woohyun said making the other guys want to barf

 

"Woohyun stop it!" Hyuna said smiling

 

"Well my job here is done! I better get home before Jiyeon kills me. Congrats Hyuna! Now I don’t owe you for helping me with Jiyeon!" Joon said while walking away

 

"Same.. Jiyoon’s calling me….?" Sungkyu lied because he didn’t want to feel like a third wheel and ruin their time together

 

 

 

 

 

 

4 YEARS LATER..

"YA NAM WOOHYUN!" Hyuna called for her boyfriend

 

"Yes sweettyy?" Woohyun walked in acting innocent

 

Hyuna glared at him, "Did you eat this cake?! I told you not to eat it!"

 

"But you know it's my favorite!"

 

"Aish I made it for Sungkyu oppa!!!!" Hyuna said angrily

 

"Weelll is he more important to you than I am?!"

 

"Is that even a question? OF COURSE HE IS!" Hyuna said to him

 

"WHAT?!" Woohyun yelled

 

"Are you guys fighting again?!" Sungkyu and Jiyoon walked into Hyuna's apartment

 

"Oppa!~" Hyuna ran over to hug him

 

"Don't touch her" Woohyun ran over to her and stopped her

 

"What's wrong with him?" Sungkyu asked Hyuna

 

"He's jealous because I said you're more important to me than he is" Hyuna said while walking back into the kitchen with Jiyoon

 

Sungkyu and Woohyun were in the living room

"So how's life?" Sungkyu asked

 

"Good. But I think the tables have turned"

 

"What do you mean?"

 

"I think I like Hyuna more than she likes me" Woohyun pouted and that just made Sungkyu laugh.

 

 

"But I really do love her..." Woohyun looked at Hyuna who was in the kitchen laughing with Jiyoon

 

 

 

 

Later that month, Woohyun proposed.  Hyuna said yes, of course. :)
