A scream echoed across the room.

She couldn't believe it.

She refused to believe it.

He was one of her dear friends. No one understood her like he did. He was the ray of sunshine in her cloudy life. He was the guide when she gets lost. He loved her, and she loved him. And he was sprawled on her bathroom floor, face down in a puddle of blood - his blood.

Jessica only managed to silently call out Onew's name with a broken cry.

Step by shaky step, she walked forward. The sight of that crimson red liquid made her lightheaded. It's not Onew, it cannot be Onew, she told herself. But it looked like Onew. The body structure seemed like Onew's. The hairstyle belonged to Onew. The shirt, the shoes, everything else was Onew's. And Jessica still told herself, it cannot be Onew.

The skin was so sickly pale, and as cold as ice when Jessica placed her hand on the body's arm. And when she flipped it over onto its back...

She sobbed.

It really was him.

Jessica collapsed down to her knees. There was a knife, struck through Onew where his heart used to be. That sweet, loving heart. But she still couldn't accept this. Clasping his shoulders, she cried out, 

"Onew! Onew, wake up! Wake up now, please! Don't leave me!"

But he still laid there, limp and lifeless.

"Onew!"

He didn't wake up.

"Onew, please!"

He would never wake up.

"Onew..."

And that was it. Nothing. He was gone.

Jessica cried through the night for him, and never left his side. Even when the other members rushed into the bathroom and she was set aside, she stayed with him. Even when an ambulance arrived and carried him to the hospital, she stayed with him. She stayed no matter what. Because after all, she loved him and he loved her.

How could it have ended like this?

It shouldn't have ended like this.
