49- Waking Up to Bad News

[ Narrator's ] Point of View:

"Okay, you're done," the professor with the white mask confirmed flatly and allowed you to sit up on the Magic Bed. You tested to see if your limbs were working properly, then, satisfied that they were, you jumped off the bed.
 

"Thanks," you replied awkwardly, then asked, "Why can't I see anything around me? All I see are random wisps of magic floating around." You furrowed your brows and scanned the space.

The professor gave you an strange look, then replied, "You're a mortal now, so you can't see full-magical things anymore. Right now you're in the Healing Room of the reform, which is full of magic. I've applied some potion onto this bed so you wouldn't freak out about floating over nothingness."

You nodded slowly, "Am I allowed to walk around now?" Without hesitation, the professor opened the doors for you. Some spaces were empty and black, but you could still see the door. Aish, it's so weird not being able to see everything! you shook your head, then again, I should be glad that I'm even alive.

"You're free to go," she said with a hint of joy in her voice, "And you are so lucky that Sehun got you here on time. Or else you would have ceased from existence." You bit your lower lip and smiled sheepishly, You're not making me feel any better!

You waved goodbye to the sighing professor and came face to face with Sehun, "Woah! Personal bubble!" you chuckled and looked up at him. Sehun kept on staring at your face, unmoving.

"Is there something on my face?" you asked, embarrassed, then added,"Em, Sehun? Are you there?" You waved your hand in front of his unblinking eyes.

"I'm here," he caught your wrist and grinned, "And I won't ever leave." Your cheeks burnt red, and you felt yourself flush. Sehun pulled you into a tight hug while the other boys were making cooing sounds.

"Oh stop it, you!" you heard Hyunsin smack Chanyeol playfully. This whole thing feels so cheesy, yet so sweet of Sehun to say. Sehun probably planned on keeping you in a hug forever, but it was interrupted because of a burning sensation on your leg.

Jumping up and down, you yelled, "Owwie! What's going on?" Sehun stood there, paralyzed again. A hologram appeared from your spacepant's right pocket. The screen fizzed before the graphics came up.

"Jin Ae? Can you hear me?" you were surprised to see your dad, as a Hologram Spell required magic, "I heard about the unfortunate... incident." He shook his head and sighed, "You can't stay forever on EXO Planet with no powers, so we'll pick you up in two days for your return to Earth. Please get ready." Your dad didn't even wait for you to speak before ceasing the spell.

My dad probably hates me now, you hung your head, 'cause I don't have powers and all... But wait, he's not my dad if the Eye created me! You looked confused for a moment, before shaking off the thought and turning around to face the boys and Sehun.
 

"I better go pack up now," you fought the tears in your eyes, "Then after two days, I won't be here anymore." Your voice cracked and you felt like escaping the thirteen pairs of eyes staring at you, disappointed.

Running back to your dorm, you ignored the wisps of magic floating around you. Relieved that you could still see the tall and beautiful trees and the doors to classes, you slowed your pace. Reaching the dorm that you seemed to have deserted ages ago, you slammed the door behind you and sank onto the floor, sobbing.

I really don't want to leave! I've had such a good time here, and I just don't think I can handle being normal again, you rubbed your sore eyes. Another voice in your head whispered, You've always wanted to be alone and unnoticed! Now your wish is fulfilled. Sehun will probably forget you, and you can finally blend into the background.

A knock on the door stopped your thought-conflict, "Jin Ae?" Hyunsin's cute and innocent voice asked, "May I come in?" You groaned and jumped onto your bed, face-down and clutching a pillow. The door creaked open and Hyunsin's quiet footsteps approached you.

"It's okay!" Hyunsin patted your back, "After I turn 18, I'll go back to Earth, too. Here's my phone number and stuff so we can contact each other later!" She recited her long phone number, and you kept nodding your head, pretending that you were actually listening.

"Oh, and also, you had a visitor that almost killed us!" Hyunsin shrieked, "There was a basilisk in the Healing Room, and we had no idea what to think! It told us to tell you that it wishes you the best on Earth, and it saved some berries for you too." Hyunsin handed your five raspberry-like fruits, "Sorry, I ate one or two." She giggled nervously.

You stared at Hyunsin and finally smiled, "Thanks Hyunsin. Can you help me pack? I'll try to make contact as soon as I reach Earth!" You reassured her. Hyunsin nodded violently and set off to work.

Maybe I'll get over all of this, you thought to yourself while eating the berries.

[ Sehun's ] Point of View:

I watched as Jin Ae sped away from us. Why did her dad Hologram her now? Right after everything seemed okay? Did he really want to destroy the fantasy that we were in?

I slammed my fist against the wall as Luhan eyed me nervously, "Don't mind me, hyungs. I'm just..." I ran my fingers through my hair and remembered when I had done the same with Jin Ae. Two more days before she leaves forever. I need to spend every second with her.

Kris got up from his seat and put a hand on my shoulder, "You should probably go talk to her. Jin Ae's also feeling stressed because of this, too." I nodded and cleared my throat, "Hyungs, I'll be right back."

I strode casually down the hallway and neared her dorm. I thought about turning back, but a voice rang out strong in my head, You can't turn back now. I exhaled deeply and slowed my pace.

What should we do for these two days? We should go to a beach. Or maybe I'll show her around the pathetic excuse of a 'mall' we have here. Actually, I'll let her decide.

I slowly knocked on her door and ran my fingers through my hair again. Hyunsin yelled, "IN A MINUTE, PLEASE!" There was a distant crash in the room, and I winced, thinking about what the fuck they could be doing in there.

At last, a messy Jin Ae greeted me, "Hey, can you help me pack first? Then we'll talk." Her hair was sticking up everywhere, and I found it difficult to surpress a snort.

Smiling back, I chuckled, "Of course I will, my damsel in distress."
