chapter thirty five- phone call. (filler)

I was woken up by the noise of the door opening and closing. I yawned and was about to get up when I realized that Myungsoo oppa’s head was on my lap.

We were out in the living room, waiting for Woohyun oppa for come home. After the NU’EST boys had left, both Myungsoo oppa and I got sleepy. Somehow, we ended up in the position we were in, fast asleep.

“Oppa!” I silently called out to my brother who had entered the house.

“Oh.” He looked surprised. “You’re still up?”

I smiled and nodded as he walked towards me. As soon as he saw Myungsoo oppa sleeping on my lap, “WHAT THE HELL?!”

Myungsoo oppa shot up at once, his eyes barely open.  “Oh, hyung!” he exclaimed, still have asleep.

I couldn’t help but smile.

I expected Woohyun oppa to throw a huge lecture at him, but to my utter astonishment, he sighed and scratched the back of his head. “What am I going to do with you?”

“Oppa said he would wait with me until you came, since even mother isn’t home.” I explained as Myungsoo oppa moved away, and yawned. “And like that we fell asleep.”

Woohyun oppa nodded. “I can see that.” He turned to Myungsoo oppa. “Yah, rascal. Go to my room if you want to sleep.”

“Wheeeeeert?”

Myungsoo oppa looked drunk when he was half asleep. It was so adorable.

“My room.” Woohyun oppa emphasized. “The place I sleep? With the bed?”

“Oh! BED!” As if hypnotized, Myungsoo oppa stood up and started walking towards the staircase to go upstairs.

Woohyun oppa chuckled as he came and sat next to me on the couch. “I figured you’d want to talk.”

I smiled and took his arm. “A lot of things happened today. After you left with Mihi.”

“I’m all ears.”

“And so, after we left the office, Myungsoo oppa treated all of us to a snack.” I said, bringing an end to the happenings of the day. “Later, Minhyun texted Ren oppa a picture of him and JR oppa. It was a funny picture.”

“What was in it?”

“Minhyun was all beat up. JR oppa’s eyes were red. I’m pretty sure it was Photoshopped.”

Woohyun oppa chuckled again. He had an expression on his face that I couldn’t read. I frowned. “What’s with the expression?”

“It’s been a long time since you talked to me like that, you know. Like a little sister. You used to always be, you know, tired of everything around you. Tired of perfection, tired of mom, tired of me.” He said, turning to me with his unreadable smile. “It feels good to have you to talk to me like a person.”

I softened. It was true. I had always thought that he was also into that perfection crap, like mother. Maybe he still was, but the aura he gave off as soon as he entered home, it just got me. I just wanted to talk to him. I actually felt as if I had a person to talk about these stuff to, other than Mihi. And Minhyun.

“You should go to bed now. I’ll drive you to school.” He said, messing with my hair. “You’ve had a hard day, Princess.”

“But where were you oppa?” I asked. “I didn’t see you, after you left with Mihi. And that was when all the drama began.”

“I was..” he stopped for a while. “I was bonding.’

A devilish smirk took on my face. "Withwho? Sunggyu oppa?"

Woohyun oppa looked at me with a shocked face. "Wh-what the hell, Yuri?!"

"You know, oppa, I am the biggest WooGyu fan around. And my heart is delighted to know that you spent bonding time with Gyu-Gyu oppa. Ahh, my favorite couple.."

The look on Woohyun oppa's face was too priceless. I oubled over with laugher.

“You are impossible, Nam Yuri. Seriously." Oppa said, shaking his head with a smile. "Now go, take a nice hot bath and go to bed. I’ll drive you to and back from school. We’ll go for ice cream after school.”

“Arasso, I’ll go. You don’t have to persuade me like a little child, you know.”

“Fine, that no ice cream after school.”

“I didn’t mean it like that!”

Oppa laughed and I pouted. It had been so long since we had sibling time like this. I missed it. I missed him.

“Arasso, I will take you to ice cream after school. Now hurry, its late. You have to get up to go to school.”

“Fine, fine, mom.” After giving him a quick peck on his cheek I darted up towards my room.

I had no complains.

The next morning I woke up to hear the beeping of my phone. I expected it to be Mihi and picked it up, without even checking the caller ID.

“Hello?” I mumbled into the phone.

“Yuri? Is that you?” a male voice answered from the other line. “Yuri?”

I frowned and rubbed my eyes before looking at the caller ID. JR oppa.

“Jonghyun oppa!” I exclaimed, almost shooting out of the bed. “Why are you calling so early in the morning? Are you okay? Is anything the matter? Is your house on fire?”

I heard a light chuckle from the other line. “No, nothing is wrong. I’m okay and my house is not on fire. At least not yet. Minki and Dongho are making breakfast.”

“They can cook?”

“Omelets. And sandwiches. I think. Wait.” From the background, I heard a WHAT’S FOR BREAKFAST which was answered by YOUR FOOT. “Yeah, omelets and sandwiches.”

“Oh. That’s interesting.”

“Fascinating, indeed. But, I called to talk about something else…I hope I didn’t wake you up too early.”

“No, you didn’t.” I said, taking a glance at the clock. “Woohyun oppa would’ve came and woke me up if I slept any longer, so I was kind of saved.”

Laughter. “Is he really that horrible?”

“You have no idea. So, what is it?”

I sensed hesitance, on the other line. “About yesterday..I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have smashed the table and walked out so rudely. Minhyun said you were in daze. And the others said you almost cried.”

I was taken by surprise. But I couldn’t help but laugh. “You did the right thing, oppa. I was in daze. And I did almost cry. But I got a lot off of my mind. After yelling at mother, I never felt so free.”

“You yelled at her? I triggered you that much? Oh my god, I’m so sorry.”

“Oppa! It’s okay! It was about time, anyway. I kept quiet for too long, anyways...”

As I trailed off, silence followed. “Can we talk? Later today?” JR oppa asked, after a while.

“If you want to.”

“Great. I’ll hang up, then. See you in school.”

“Arasso, take care oppa.”

“By the way, Minhyun won’t be coming to school today. I’ll tell you about it later. Take care.”

“Take care..”
