Chapter 15

“No you’re not going to work, Mrs Cho.” Kyuhyun said as he used his arms to pin her back to the bed. “Kyu! Don’t be childish, I have work to do!” Seohyun protested. “I’m taking a day off from work cause my wife has not been giving me the attention I deserve. Hence, my wife will have to compensate me for my loss.”

“Alright alright I give up, I’m calling Yoona-unnie to help me alright?” Seohyun said as she raised both of her hands. “Yay okay!” Kyuhyun said happily. “You need to rest too though, you were admitted to the hospital yesterday! The doctor said you have to rest more.”

“Yoona-unnie...I won’t be able to open the shop today...”

“Yoong! Seohyun’s mine today! You guys have made her so stressed out, she’s sick!” Kyuhyun snatched the phone over and yelled into it. “What?! She’s sick?” Yoona said loudly. “Yeah! She needs to rest, so give her a day off alright! Bye!” Kyuhyun ended the call and returned the phone to its sulking owner.

“Kyu! Unnie is gonna get worried if you don’t explain to her properly!” Seohyun said as she pouted. “She won’t. Because she knows I’m by your side.” Kyuhyun said as he winked at her triumphantly. “Now you, lie down and I will prepare breakfast for the both of us.” He ordered her. “Are you sure you’re going to be okay alone in the kitchen? Please don’t....” Seohyun drifted off.

“Please don’t what!”

“Nothing!”

“Yah Seo, I know what you’re referring to, but I won’t be mad enough to poison my own wife.” He retorted. “Well...I did not mentioned anything Kyu, don’t get too sensitive!” She chuckled softly. “You..you meant it that way, and I will prove you wrong!” Kyuhyun stomped towards the kitchen and stuck out his tongue before he exited their room.

“Choding!” Seohyun shouted after him and started smiling to herself.

“MOM! You need to help me!” Kyuhyun whispered loudly into his phone. “What should I cook for Seo? She’s sick!” He explained. “Chicken soup? But how...?” He scratched his head. “No Mom, don’t come over, I want to do it on my own.” “What?! I will not poison my wife!” He retorted. “Just message me the steps, I will try to follow them as closely as possible. Thanks Mom! I love you!” Kyuhyun ended the call and sighed. He then took his keys and drove to the nearest supermarket.

Seohyun heard the door closed and she went out to an empty kitchen. She was bored lying on the bed and she plopped herself on their sofa and turned on the television.

Half an hour later, Kyuhyun finally unlock their door. “Seo! Sorry to keep you waiting, you must be hungry right? I bought you something to eat first, since I will take awhile to cook.” Kyuhyun said while panting as he carried the bags of groceries.

“Let me help you, Kyu!” Seohyun stood up and walked over to Kyuhyun. “Uh uh..not today! Sit down and eat your bread.” Seohyun sighed and gave in. She forced herself to keep her eyes on the television, trying hard not to imagine the scene in the kitchen. She could hear the clings and clangs from the dropping of cutleries and pots and pans and she didn’t dare to face the reality.

Awhile later, Kyuhyun finally called out to Seohyun. “Baby, I’m done!” He grinned widely. “Come over here and have a try!” Seohyun stood up hesitantly and walked over to the dining table. Kyuhyun then opened the lid of the pot and Seohyun was embraced by the scent of the soup.

“Wow...Kyu...smells pleasant. Surprisingly!” She exclaimed. “Hehehe of course, it’s me!” He then handed her the spoon and she gave it a try. She sipped a little from the spoon, and her eyes widened.

“Are...are..you trying to kill us? Cho Appa...”

“WHAT?!”
