Chapter 11

Eun said bye to a couple of her classmates before leaving the school. She stayed behind a bit waiting for you to come out of class. She looked all over the school for you. But after 15 minutes, she gave up and thought that maybe you had already gone home. 
She was going to ask you if you wanted to go shopping with her a few days before the ball. 
Eun let out a sigh and decided to track you down tomorrow. 
As she was walking out of the school, she heard someone call her name. She turned around and saw Micha making her way towards her. 
Eun gave her a small wave. 
"Going home?" Micha asked. Eun nodded. 
"Same, I'll walk you home," Micha offered, "We haven't talked in a long time."
Eun hesitated but nodded her head, agreeing. 
The both of them remained quiet after a block or two. 
"So how are your classes?" Micha asked trying to break the ice. Eun gripped onto her backpack straps.
"They're good so far." she replied. Micha forced a smile and played with her curls. 
The atmosphere between the both of them was awkward and tense. 
Eun looked up and suddenly stopped walking. Micha looked behind her. 
"Eun what's wrong?" she asked. Eun nodded her head in the direction infront of her. Micha looked up and saw Kai heading their way. His head was hung low, and his hands were tucked into his pockets. 
Micha suddenly turned stiff and her eyes immediately started glaring at him. 
Inch by inch, Kai neared them. 
"Look what the devil dragged along." Eun said coldly when he was close enough. Kai stopped walking and saw Micha and Eun standing infront of him. 
"As if I'm happy to see you two anyways." he said. Something in Micha snapped and she launched foward grabbing him by his collar.
"Micha!" Eun cried. 
"Listen to me, you stuck up selfish bastard," she growled staring him straight in his eyes, "stop acting like you own the world. Don't forget I haven't forgiven you for what you did to her!" 
Eun grabbed Micha back. Tears started forming in her eyes. 
"It's all your fault!" Micha cried, "Because of you my best friend is now somewhere in this world! Because of you she left me and moved half across the world without saying a single word to me!" 
"Unnie! Calm down!" Eun said. 
Kai's hands formed into a fist in his pockets.
"You're really going to bring this up?" Kai sighed. Micha struggled against Eun's grip. 
"If you hadn't cheated on her, maybe she would still be living here." Micha shouted. 
Kai was boiling with anger. He hated bringing this topic up. 
"Believe what you want. I'm out." Kai said walking pass them. He didn't want to say anything else. He didn't want to have anything to do with them.
"Yeah, just like you did to Ji-eun. You walked away. That's all you're good at!" Kai could hear Micha scream. 
He ignored her and kept walking. 
He needed to get away for a bit, to sort his thoughts out. 
He grabbed his phone and sent Chanyeol a text, "Gonna be home late." and walked straight ahead not turning back.

The moment you reached your suite. You slammed the door and threw your bag across the room. 
You kept breathing in and out deeply, not wanting to cry. You refused to cry. Besides, there wasn't really a reason to cry. 
Sure you felt lonely, but that could be changed over time. 
Sure Kai was being stupid, but things happen and people change or so. 
You went into the washroom and splashed some cold water onto your face. 
You turned off the tap and looked at yourself in the mirror. 
You smiled. 
Although your dad wasn't physically here, you could always feel him near you. 
And everytime you looked at yourself, you saw your dad. 
You had many of his features. His eyes, his nose, his eyebrows and even his cheeky smile. 
You looked at yourself one more time before exiting the washroom. 
"Okay ____, noe more being sad! New start!" you said slapping your face. 
You quickly made your way to the couch and flipped on the tv hoping to watch something that distract you and take your mind off of everything. 

Kai shivered a bit when a breeze blew by. It was already dark and he was still out. 
He had been wandering the streets for hours. He didn't want to see anyone, or do anything. He just wanted to be alone. 
It was so late, that the streets were practically empty.
His phone buzzed for the millionth time tonight. It was Chanyeol again, calling him.
He was worried about Kai. It was almost one in the morning and he still wasn't home.
Kai reached into his pockets taking out his phone and turning it off. 
Kai was walking around downtown. It was getting really late and really cold. He knew he had to go home, but he didn't want to. 
He walked past a cheesecake cafe and stopped, to stare at it. 

"Mmmm! Oppa! This is so good!" Ji-eun chimed. Kai smiled and took a bite of his cheesecake while watching Ji-eun enjoy hers. 
He knew how much she loved eating cheesecake, which was why he brought her here. 
The cafe was dim and was lit by candles, creating a romantic vibe. 
As she took another big bite of her cheesecake, a little bit of the whipcream was stuck to the corner of her mouth. She was enjoying it too much to even notice. Kai smirked and grabbed his napkin. 
"Ji-eun, don't move. You got a little bit of whipcream on your lip." he said. She stayed still. He leaned in closer and closer to her until their faces were only inches apart. 
He quickly kissed the corner of her mouth licking the cream away. She blushed and pushed him away. 
"Y-yah!" she said. Kai chuckled and sat down enjoying his cheesecake.

He felt a weight growing on his chest. He kept walking. 
He walked past a little shop that sold clothes. 

"Oppa! Does this make me look weird?" Ji-eun asked getting out of the changing room. She had on a bright blue shirt. 
Kai smiled, Ji-eun could wear a dinosaur costume and still look absolutely amazing.
"You look great." Kai said giving her a thumbs up. Ji-eun sighed and looked at herself in the mirror. 
Kai sensed that she was feeling insecure in the shirt and how she looked. 
He got up and wrapped his arms around her. 
"You look fine." he reassured her. She rested her head against the crook of his neck.
"You're my boyfriend of course you have to say that." she said. Kai smiled at how clueless she was. 
She really couldn't see how beautiful she was in his eyes. 
"I'm serious, you look amazing. Please buy it? I'll pay for you." he smiled kissing her on the cheek. 
She scrunched her nose, "Are you sure?" He nodded. She then beamed and kissed his cheek. 
"You're the best boyfriend ever!" she chimed. 
 

Everytime he walked past a place, memories of him and Ji-eun flooded back. He grabbed his hair in frustration. 
"Oppa!" he suddenly heard Ji-euns voice. He quickly turned around, his heart pounding against his ribcage. But he saw no one.
"Oppa!" he heard her voice again. He turned looked around and turned in circles looking for her. 
Again, he saw no one. 
"Oppa!" "Oppa!" her voice echoed through his mind. 
He then lost it and dropped to his knees when a flash of her smiling face pulsed through his mind. Grabbing his hair, he let out a cry of frustration. 
He placed his hands on the sidewalk and punched it many times getting all his frustrations out.
After what seemed like forever, Kai came to a stop.
His fist was now badly bruised and bleeding. 
Tears were dripping down his cheek. Not from the physical pain but from the pain and frustration that had built inside of him for so many years. 
He squeezed his eyes shut and bit down hard on his jaw. 
He looked up at the starry sky with blurry eyes. 
"Where the hell are you..?" he choked. He looked down at the sidewalk and realized that it had splotches of his blood and tears on it. 
He stood up, the pain finally shooting through him. He winced but kept going. 
He decided that it was time to go home and get some rest. 
He stared at his bloody hand, his tears dripping down on it causing it to string. 
"Just wherever you are, please...come back." he thought.

This morning was tough. You were tired and didn't feel like going to school, mainly because you didn't want to face Kai. 
You walked into the hallways and naturally made your way towards Chanyeol's locker. It was a daily routine. 
You saw him there as usual and walked over. 
"Oppa!" you chimed. He looked over at you and you almost jumped in shock. 
His eyes were red and the eyebags under his eyes were dark and puffy. 
He looked pale. 
"____.." he muttered forcing a smile. 
You were in too much shock to say anything. He chuckled and ran a hand through his hair.
"I know, I know I look like crap right now." he said. 
"What...happened?" you asked getting worried. 

He didn't want to tell you that he stayed up allnight waiting for Kai to get home. It was almost 2 in the morning when did get home. And when Kai did come home, Chanyeol received the greatest shock of his life. 
He spent about an hour mending and wrapping Kai's hand. An hour making sure it would stop bleeding. The whole night, he had to keep changing the bandage on his arm. 
Kai and him barely got any sleep.
 

"I stayed up watching a movie and..studying." Chanyeol lied awkwardly.
"Well you should stop doing that then!" you cried. Chanyeol let out a sigh of relief. You actually brought it. 
You touched his face, "Oppa, you look exhausted."
The warmth from your hands heated up his cheek. He smiled. 
"It's cause I am." he yawned. You rolled your eyes. 
The first bell rang. 
"I'll see you later!" you chimed running off. 
You walked through the halls and rounded the corners, when you did, you bumped into Kai. 
"_____," he mumbled. You looked down and your eyes zoomed in on his hand.
It was badaged and wrapped. You titled your head in confusion.
He noticed you looking at it and quickly hid his hand behind his back.
"____, listen I'm-"
"I actually have to get to class. I don't want to be late." you quickly said cutting him off. You looked at him giving him a small smile before running off.
When you were sure that you were out of his sight, you slowed down your pace. 
You noticed that he had the same tired expression that Chanyeol had. 
You neared your classroom. 
The halls were filled with students running off in every direction trying to get to their first class. 
You walked into your classroom and decided to take a seat near the window. You grabbed your books out of your bag and placed them on your desk. 
You looked out the window and sighed, ready for this day to be over.
