Deja Vu

He sat in the middle of the room. His head lay between his knees as he hugged them close to his chest. Is he feeling regret over his choice? He fell! And for what? For a girl whom he doesn't even know where to find, where to look for! He sighed. There's nothing he could do now. He opened his eyes, raised his head and stared outside the window. He wondered. The Fallen, he has only heard of them once in his lifetime. Their story was taught when he was in training for being an archangel. The Fallen were angels who have sided with the evil and was banished  to Earth, bound to live among humans.

He wondered, racked his brain for any more information about them because as of now, he was part of their group. He was now a fallen angel.

" Nice going Jiyong. Archangel to fallen angel. "

He laughed, laughed at his poor judgement governed by his feelings instead of logic.

He knew fallen angels, despite living among humans, had special abilities, he remembered that much. Some can read minds, super strength, and sometimes, shape shift. He stood and looked aroung the unfurnished room. The walls were bare, the windows naked. He shook his head in disbelief. Banished. Is this what banished from the heavens mean? How can they provide him with an apartment, and clothes for that matter.

" Well, better see if I have those powers or not."

He said, walking to the bathroom, looking for something to break with his hands. He found a metal bar where the shower curtains should be hanging from.

" I guess this'll have to do."

He said and gave it a little squeeze. Looking at the metal, it was clearly dented. He smiled.

" I need something harder."

He looked around. There was nothing else but the polished marble of the bathroom sink. He shrugged. Effortlessly, he broke a piece of the sink's edge. He laughed as he held the stone in his hands.

" So I guess superhuman strength is a check."

He said smilling to himself.

" What else could I test out?"

He asked himself looking around. With the lack of materials in the house, he shook his head. He will have to go out in the human world...for the first time as a fallen.

" Yah! How long have you been eating, Chaerin - shi? You ate my pancakes!!!!! HOW DARE YOU!!!"

Dara screamed at her bestfriend, returning from her shower as she walked in on her friend eating the last of the pancakes.

" Relax honey, I can throw it back up for you if you want."

" YAH!"

The friends ran around the kitchen with Dara holding a fork threatening to stab Chaerin with it.

They both chuckled as they landed on the couch at the living room. Ever since elementary school, ever since her dad left them forever, Chaerin has been her pillar, her support. If not for her friend, she would most probably a depressed wreck who stuffs herself with marshmallows all day. She smiled at her friend, giving her a tight hug.

" Uhm Dara-shi what's up with the sudden contact? Don't tell me you have a thing for my sexay boday!"

Chaerin laughed as she released herself from Dara's grip and did a "sexy" dance. They both fell to the floor laughing.

" So, are we going to that mall or what?"

Chaerin asked, shaking her car keys in Dara's face.

" I'm ready if you are."

Dara answered, straightening the wrinkles on her skirt.

" Aish! I should have spent more time learning about these stuff."

Jiyong said in anooyance as he tried to figure out the elevator, pushing random buttons as they lit up until it came into a stop at the 1st floor. He banged on the the door impatiently as it slowly opened gaining eyes from the crowd outside. He gave an awkward smile and waved while walking to the glass doors of the lobby.

He started to walk under the hot sun of Seoul. The busy streets with its cars that seemed to always be in a hurry amazed him. Then, as if out of nowhere, a girl carrying a blue box that seemed too big for her bumped into him. He thought that this would be the perfect time to test out whatever ability he has. This time, he tried reading her mind.

" Ooh, lucky me! This guy I bumped into is sexy as hell!"

He was shocked with what he heard from the seemingly innocent girl's mind. He shook his head and walked away, not even bothering to pick up the box.

" Too bad he's a jerk! They say jerks like him have big cocks though."

He caught a last look into the girl's mind and finally decided that he should probably walk faster. He laughed to himself.

" Such a waste. Those are the ones we always had to watch as angels. Innocent bad girls."

He walked with an air of confidence, feeling more comfortable with his new environment.

" Chaerin - shi, can we take a little rest? We've been going around this mall nonstop since we got here. I am dead tired!"

Dara sighed as she held on to her bestfriend's arm, begging her to stop.

" Fine! Let's go to the food court and I'll get us some ice cream. My treat."

" YAAAAY! Ice cream!"

" YAH! Stop that! You're like a little kid!"

Her friend could not help but laugh at her expression. She looked like a kid lost at a theme park made of ice cream and cookies, not caring about other people's opinions, just as long as she has cookies and ice cream.

They found a table next to the Carousel and as soon as she sat, Dara devoured her chocolate - vanilla swirl ice cream, eating it like there's no tomorrow.

" Yo girl, ease up on the ice cream will ya? Look at your mess on the table!"

Chaerin tried to catch her attention but she was too engrossed with the sweet confection in her hands that she was too oblivious to notice her friend.

" YAH! You're gonna get a brainfreeze!"

She tapped Dara's arm once again, this time succeeding on getting her attention. She realized, though, that her warning was too late as Dara looked up and groaned, holding the back of her head, clearly in deep pain.

" HAHA! You got brainfreeze didn't you?"

Chaerin laughed loudly, tears slowly forming in her eyes. She laughed and laughed and laughed until she was the exasperated look on her friend's face. She knew at that moment that she needed to stop.

" Come on, it wasn't that funny. Look what you did! You made me drop my ice cream!"

Dara pointed to the melting lump of brown and white on the floor.

Chaerin tried her hardest to supress her laughter, she even shoved the remaning of her cone just to prevent laughing at her friend's disappointed face.

" Bye bye ice cream...YAH! Chaerin - ah remind me why you're my bestfriend!"

" Come on Dara - shi, I'll get you another one."

Her friend said, getting up from her seat and headed to the ice cream shop once again.

She clapped her hands and cheered for her friend.

" Thank you! I love you bestfriend!"

She said, welcoming back Chaerin and the fresh ice cream swirl in her hand.

" You're such a kid."

" But you love this kid!"

" Haha, got that right! I love you enough to get you another cone, you better feel special."

Dara just nodded as she happily licked her ice cream away.

" Crap! Man I'm hungry!"

He groaned as his stomach let out a frustrated growl.

Jiyong has been walking on the streets continously, wandering, not knowing where to go. He looked around to where he is, memorizing every turn he took, making sure he remembered where he lived.

He stopped in front af a mall. Without thinking, he let his sore feet take him inside.

He looked inside, marvelling over the mechanism of the Carousel that turned around with its horses. He looked at difeerent corners that sold food, his stomach lurched. He was hungry.

He reached into his pocket and found nothing but lint. He knew he needed money, he knows at least that much. Money, that right now, he had none of.

" Shit! How am I supposed to eat now?"

He looked around, more desperately.

His heard turned from side to side, not knowing what to do next. Then, as if a stream of light flooded from the heavens, his eyes laid upon who he was looking for. He finally saw Dara, sitting beside the Carousel, a dazed look on her eyes. He started to walk towards her, loosing his hunger but as he came closer, he saw the ice cream cone in her hands. His mouth watered, he wanted that ice cream cone.

" Hey!"

He greeted them as he approached their table.

The girls looked at him, uncertain of his presence.

" HI!"

The blonde girl answered first waving her hand.

" Mind if I join you?"

He asked turning to Dara and her ice cream cone.

" No not at all."

Again, the blonde girl answered.

"My name is Chaerin by the way and this child-girl right here is my bestfriend Dara."

She introduced herself.

" I was just wondering...uhm, do you know what this horsey-thing is called?"

He asked Chaerin, pointing to the Carousel beside them.

" What? Uhm a Carousel. Wait...did I miss something here? How can you not know what that thing is?"

The girl laughed at his clueless face.

" Oh was that strange? Haha its just that this is the first time I see one of these."

He explained, earning him a puzzled look from both of the girls.

" You mean you haven't  been to one?"

Dara asked, wiping the ice cream on her lips.

Jiyong nodded, his eyes fixed on the cone in Dara's hand.

" Uhm if you don't mind me asking...what flavor is that?"

He asked pointing to the cone.

" This? Uhm it's chocolate-vanilla swirl."

He nodded.

" Uhm can I take a look at it?"

He asked, curiosity taking over him as he held out his hand to her.

" Oh okay, sure I guess."

She stuttered, handing him her cone.

Her eyes widened at what he did.

He took a bite of her cone.

" Hey, thank you for this. See you around!"

He said, eating the rest of her cone. He stood and walked away without looking back at their direction.

"YAH! OMO! Did that guy just take my ice cream?"

Dara exclaimed, feeling empty now that her ice cream is gone.

" Who cares? That guy was hella sexy!"

" I thought he was creepy."

Dara whispered, wearing her infamous pout.

" I'm sorry about your ice cream. Yah! But the way he licked that ice cream would be enough for me to buy as much ice cream as he wanted for him. Did you see those lips?"

" Yah! What are you talking about? I want my ice cream back!"

" Honey, forget it. I'm not getting you another cone. But do you wanna hear something wierd I noticed?"

" Sure, anything that would get my mind off of that cone."

Dara nodded, keeping her pout.

" Well, you know the drawings you show me? The ones you draw from your dreams? Well the guy kinda looked like one of them."

" Yeah, that's not really taking my mind off of the burglary but you are right! Now that you metion it."

Dara said, tapping her lips.

Dara's POV

Chaerin-shi is right! Those dark eyes were the same shape. His eyes looked like dark pools of black ink, fluid and serene. His lips were cherry red, just like the man I meet in my dreams. His husky voice was as soothing as  remember.

" Chaerin-shi can we not talk about this? I'm started to get freaked out."

" Okay honey, do you wanna go ahead?"

Chaerin asked, understanding the look on my face.

" I think I wanna head home, if you don't mind. I don't think I can handle another ice cream burglary."

I said, masking the doubts in my voice.

" If you say so. Let's go then."

I cheered, holding on to her arm once again.

In reality, I felt uneasy as I recalled the man's face. His gaze felt like deja vu. I know I've seen him before, not just in my dreams. His familiar face haunted me, awakening a brewing feeling inside my heart.
