Love with a Shutter
“Appa, is the taste okay?” I asked while letting appa try the soup that I prepared.
Appa nodded, “Ne, matsisseoyo.” Appa replied.
*Translations: 맛있어요 means 'delicious/taste good' in Korean*
We prepared the food and the guests reached just in time.
I served them some drinks while appa could take a break first.
Oppa offered to help but I stopped him, “Oppa, just rest for the day.” I said.
“Geureondae...” Oppa still want to help.
*Translations: Geureondae 그런데 means 'but' in Korean*
“Oppa, just take a seat okay?” Soo Ah asked.
Soo Ah and JunHyung, KiKwang and Chae Rin were sitting together while, the rest of them were sitting opposite each other and DooJoon was seating on a solo sofa.
I went to seat down with DongWoon oppa, “Oppa.” I smiled.
DongWoon held my hand tight, “It's good to have you by my side.” He said.
Then we went on with the dinner shortly, appa's cooking was really good.
“Daebak.” YoSeob commented.
*Translations: 대박 means 'very good/superb' in Korean.*
“I am glad that you all enjoyed.” Appa said.
“Abeoji, kamsahamnida.” Oppa said to appa.
Then, Chae Rin and Soo Ah offered to wash the dishes but, we decided to have DooJoon oppa and I to do the dish-washing instead.
“Min Ah, why not I wash the dishes and you dry them instead? This way, it's faster.” DooJoon said.
“Ne, jowa. Oppa, here you go, gloves.” I passed the pair of gloves to him.
We were doing things at a good speed and suddenly, a lightning struck and a thunder sounded.
And then, something happened.
A black out?!
“Oppa..” I was trying to reach for DooJoon.
DooJoon took off his glove and grabbed my hands, “Min Ah, don't worry, oppa is here, gwaenchanayo.” He said with a calming voice.
I tried to stay calm, just then, someone pulled me away from DooJoon, “Min Ah, oppa is here.” oppa hugged me.
“Oppa~” I hug tightly onto oppa.
DongWoon oppa came near with his phone, “Min Ah, gwaenchanayo? It's going to be fine soon, YoSeob hyung and I will be trying to fix the short circuit.” He said.
“DongWoon ah, I need a favour from you, abeoji is somewhere in the house and I am not sure where he is, could you help me search around with the help of the rest of the members?” MinHyun asked.
“I shall fix the short circuit with YoSeob then.” DooJoon said.
“Min Ah, we shall go out first.” Oppa said and he carried me till we reached the living room which is near.
Chae Rin held onto KiKwang oppa tightly while Soo Ah and JunHyung tried to help find abeoji as well.
“Samchon, eodieyo?” Soo Ah asked and JunHyung was holding her hands tightly while walkng around the dark house.
It was completely pitch dark, imagine going into a dark room with your eyes closed. Totally just black.
“Samchon, please respond if you hear us.” JunHyung spoke in a louder voice.
There was no response.
“Oppa, shall we go up to the stairs? I think maybe samchon is in one of the rooms.” Soo Ah asked.
“Hold on to my hands tightly.” JunHyung shone his phone on the steps and the two of them walked up extra slowly and carefully.
Chae Rin and KiKwang were by my side together with oppa as well, “MiNi, don't be afraid. Chae Rin ah, gwaenchanayo.” KiKwang oppa said to both of us.
“Oppa, what happened to appa?” I asked.
“I am worried as well, darling, I wish DongWoon could be able to find appa.” Oppa said.
DongWoon went down to the basement, “Samchon? JunPyo samchon?” He asked.
“DongWoon?” JunPyo responded.
DongWoon saw light in a small corner, “Samchon? You are here?” He walked towards JunPyo.
“Is there a black out out there?” JunPyo asked.
“Ne samchon. Gwaenchanayo?” DongWoon asked.
Junpyo nodded, “Look at this.” He showed DongWoon a photo.
It looked old but the people in the photo still looks pretty.
“Is this Min Ah?” DongWoon asked, “Or.. Min Ah's eommeoni?” DongWoon asked again.
Min Ah looks so alike to her Mother and DongWoon was totally amazed.
“Ne, This is Min Ah's Mother. They look alike don't they?” JunPyo asked.
“Ne, it's as though Min Ah was a replica. But.. I heard from Min Ah that, she hadn't been able to see a picture of her Mother because you don't have it anymore.” DongWoon was curious about this photo.
JunPyo let out a short sigh, “It was supposed to be so but, I found one here.” He said.
“Take a look around here, an ordinary-looking photo studio but, it holds lots of memories of our family.” JunPyo said.
JunPyo then looked seriously at DongWoon, “DongWoon ah, I know that you love Min Ah a lot and I do approve you two being together. I just wished you could still be so even if many many years have passed and please continue to adore Min Ah.” He said.
DongWoon nodded, “Samchon, without you saying it, I already have promised. What should we do with this photo?” He asked.
“I will keep it and, This is something for you.” He passed something to DongWoon.
It was a watch,“Samchon?” DongWoon asked.
“It is just a watch. I would like you to have it.” JunPyo said.
“Geureondae, samchon, this is way too big a gift.” DongWoon said.
“Aniyo, keep it. Min Ah will know the meaning.” JunPyo said, “Do keep your promise and I shall entrust Min Ah to you now.” He said.
“I will, Kamsahamnida.” DongWoon said.
The lights were back, looks like YoSeob and DooJoon did it!
Everyone gathered back at the living room, DongWoon wore the watch and then, he went up with JunPyo.
“Oppa, Appa, gwaenchanayo?” I asked while I saw both of them walking towards us.
“Maljjanghaeyo.” Junpyo replied.
*Translations: 말짠해요 means 'I am fine' in Korean.*
I spotted the watch on DongWoon's wrist, “Oppa.” I smiled.
“Min Ah, you two have a talk in the room then, guys and girls, let's take a seat. DooJoon, where's Kim? ....” And JunPyo led everyone into a conversation while DongWoon and I went upstairs.
When we entered the room, DongWoon asked, “Darling, is there a unique meaning for this watch?” He asked.
I nodded, “Very significant.” I replied.
“This watch is a sign that appa has accepted you as his Son-in-law.” I said.
축하합니다~~ Finally the two of DongWoon and Min Ah have received their blessings! Soon, it would be Min Ah meeting with DongWoon's family!
Chae Rin would also be meeting KiKwang's family members and as for Soo Ah..
She... What will happen during the opening ceremony of the cafe owned by JunHyung's Chingu then?
